  1. Some have suggested he be the RHH in a new 1st base platoon and I could get behind that. McKinney and the Sheriff, send Hiura down.
  2. I kind of agree, I could see him saying he doesn't feel like he'd want to return to Green Bay while Gute was still there but just saying it doesn't make it definitive and it's a long stretch from a statement like that to "I want him fired."
  3. Not the umps on the field who messed up. That was bang bang, I can see how the ump at 2B missed the call, but it is inexcusable for them to fudge it up in New York. Pathetic. I agree—that is a completely fair point. But we wouldn’t have even needed a steal if the field umps would call obstruction even 1/10th as sensitively as it was called on Godley. It’s starting to pile up. What I don't understand is they had an angle that showed Wong's hand touch 2nd base and they had an angle that showed the glove tagging Wong, can't they run them side by side to figure out which happened first? Doesn't the NFL do it that way?
  4. Like I said I'm not advocating it but part of that is calling his bluff. Plus he can always decide to return from retirement and he can still be traded at that point as well. There's a lot of talk and bluster going on right now who knows what any of it really means. Maybe he sucks it up and plays one more season and then gets his trade. I'm interested to hear what his trade value is after the draft is over.
  5. It's closer to $30 million. He would also have to return the bonus he was just paid in March, I think it was $6.8 million? There's simply no way they just let $29 million slide like it's nothing. I'm not advocating they allow him to retire but it's an option and I don't think it's a far fetched option.
  6. Is that your opinion or is that fact? Not sure how someone’s parent can be an opinion, lol. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.espn.com/nfl/draft2021/story/_/id/31223048/nfl-draft-prospect-amari-rodgers-best-teacher-famous-dad%3fplatform=amp Maybe we need Jerry Springer to do a daddy reveal?
  7. Just because you don't care about it doesn't mean they don't. They like money. A lot.
  8. Well I care about the future of this team and not getting any value out of him out of spite doesn't seem like good policy. They'd get tens of millions of dollars returned to them from Rodgers and that's not nothing.
  9. I've been speculating lately that, even though this season was better than last, spring training still wasn't normal by any stretch of the imagination this year. Normally they'd have a roster full of minor leaguers and vets trying to make the club and we had that but not for very long. No split squads which resulted in less available at bats leading to really trying to spread a small glob of butter over too much bread. Then you have guys with nagging injuries or guys like JBJ that signed late so their at bats are low as well. I don't know if that's reading too much into it but it feels like maybe it's just taking some guys longer to find a groove. Maybe not though.
  10. I just had a quick fantasy of Gute faxing Rodgers retirement forms with a cover sheet that just has a smiley face on it.
  11. LOL ok that's the best example so far for how self-important Rodgers has become or has just been this entire time. I feel like I've understood his reasoning on most things but this is outside of logic and reality stuff right here. So petty. Fact is that by dropping the bomb on draft day it gave the Packers zero time to explore trade deals that could take advantage of this year's draft. That's a huge factor. I'm sure parts of that was Rodgers wanting to pressure them into trading with the 49ers since they had explored an offer already. But now that they've missed the boat on getting a premium 1st round pick there really isn't much incentive for a Packers to rush into a trade. Future draft picks just aren't as valuable, if they send Rodgers to a new team that team is likely to be a playoff team, what use is getting a few late 1st round picks when they'd be stepping straight into cap hell with a QB that is likely not ready to start in Jordan Love? If they trade him, and I'm not certain they will, they might prefer he retire, it's much more likely they wait until after June 1st and will likely require getting a stud player or an up and coming potential stud player in addition to draft picks. Plus they need to figure out who they can acquire to start at QB for them until Love is ready.
  12. Right and as recent as last year YouTube TV had Brewers games. This is the first season they don't. I don't think anyone that has chosen to cut the cord and chosen streaming is crashing into other people's conversations of why they still have cable and telling them they're wrong. The cable model still makes sense for people even if they just don't want to deal with learning how to navigate streaming television. My parents were clinging to cable as their bill kept going up and up, finally my dad told my mom, "Hey, we're going to try YouTube TV for a month and if it doesn't work out we can always go back to cable." My mom complained about YTTV for a couple weeks but once she got used to it she ended up liking it. Yes there were still compromises but staying with cable comes with compromises too. YTTVs unlimited DVR is probably a big factor, it just records everything, they don't need to worry about overlapping show times or being restricted to 2 simultaneous show recordings. It's easy now, their shows are just there when they want them, all of them. I swear I would visit them once a week and the gymnastics they needed to do just managing the rinky dink DVR the cable company provided them was so annoying I can only imagine what their day to day routine was like.
  13. How true. Moved up to take Love with a 4th. To move up 7spots in the 3rd cost the same? Why not the Comp 4th pick? Now watch we trade a 5th and move up 10spots with the 4th rd pick we still have. 92 and 135 = 170 pts. 170 pts. = pick 84, exactly. So yes, the Packers slightly overpaid in getting #85, but by the slightest amount possible. As far as value is concerned I think we should be ecstatic they took him in the 3rd and not the 2nd: Marques Eversoll @MarquesEversoll Interesting. Gutey says the #Packers were between Josh Myers & Amari Rodgers at #62. Decided it was worth trading up to get Rodgers at #85.
  14. Reading through this article with the M*A*S*H theme song in my head.
  15. That's why I went the Amazon Fire Stick route for YTTV. Much less chance of Amazon being bullied by Google than Roku. I wouldn't bet on that. They've butted heads before, it's only within the last couple years that there have been official YouTube and YouTubeTV apps on Fire TV devices. The upside with Fire TV is that side loading options are available, meaning you can hack your device and download unofficial apps that let you use those services w/o Google really having any say over it.
