  1. It all depends on the damage to the tissue surrounding the shoulder when it came out of joint. The team doctors probably manually manipulated it back into the joint in the clubhouse. It’s now a question of getting inflammation out and strengthening the muscles around the shoulder so it doesn’t become a chronic thing, that’s where the lengthy recovery time comes from. Spot on. I had a similar injury in college where I dove for a ball in the outfield except I also tore my rotator cuff and labrum so I was out for about a year.
  2. Ashby moving into a multi inning role has me thinking of Hader/Burnes and how successful they were in that role when the came up. Excited to see him pitch!
  3. ...and visions of Hader and Burnes danced in their heads... Fair or unfair, I think expectations will be pretty high from fans. We saw success with top pitching prospects following that same multi inning role before. Excited to see what he can bring!
  4. Gotta think his leash is getting awfully short. There might not even be a leash left. They are just holding him by the collar.
  5. Haven't seen a corresponding move yet for Keston being sent down...
  6. I thought this was pretty cool. Chris Rose and Tyler Glasnow interviewed Willy Adames for almost an hour and talked about all sorts of stuff including the trade. You get to know the guy behind the numbers a bit more. Easy guy to root for!
  7. I'd like to see these fan videos... This was the first hit on google when i tried 'Brandon woodruff foreign substance' https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ET4NP4N7Cx0&ab_channel=EverythingSports I don't think we can deny that the Brewers do this just as much as pretty much everyone else. I’m going to be very upset if our pitchers start sucking now

  9. His “roll over” to first last night was hit 109.8 mph. He is hitting the ball very hard he’s just not getting the ball in the air. Even his home run the other night had top spin.
  10. If his agent didn’t tell him he was potentially giving up way more money in the long run in exchange for guaranteed payments up front, then Peralta probably has changed agents since signing this deal, otherwise he knew what he was doing when he signed his extension. No reason to feel bad for him. He doesn't seem to be feeling bad for himself. Always seems so genuinely happy and humble. Such an easy guy to root for.
  11. Yelich continues to hit the ball hard (105.1 and 109.8 EV) it’s just into the ground. Kinda like his entire career before he got to Milwaukee. Get that ball in the air!
  12. Over the last couple weeks it seems there has been increased scrutiny over pitches using foreign substances. MLB is apparently going to start cracking down on it but I saw this article from Sports Illustrated today that was pretty interesting. https://www.si.com/mlb/2021/06/04/sticky-stuff-is-the-new-steroids-daily-cover
  13. JBJ ready to rake in June *fingers crossed*. His career OPS numbers by month... March/April -- .610 May -- .712 June -- .810 July -- .702 Aug -- .767 Sept/Oct -- .717
  14. Off base? How so? In 2019 he hit .299 on pitches 92+ with 7 HRs, a .382 wOBA and a 26.5% K rate in 147 plate appearances, so yes, it was off base.

  16. Sounds like patience is running thin with Hiura based on CCs comments last night. Not sure how much longer you can keep rolling him out there.
  17. pitches thrown middle/middle of the plate
  18. Yep that is obviously the caveat here. You kind of have to put an asterisk on the whole 2020 season and Yelich and Hiura definitely haven't had the ABs this season to justify a trend but it is still interesting to see the numbers. Really enjoy digging into the stuff Baseball Savant has. Does Savant have heat maps for swing frequency/wOBA within different sections of the strike zone? My personal, totally unsubstantiated theory is that during his breakout Yelich was doing a lot of damage jumping on pitches inside/down, but post-injury he has been laying off those pitches for fear of drilling another one off of his knee. Yes they do. I dont know how to paste pictures but here is the link of all the zone charts. You can filter by year. https://baseballsavant.mlb.com/savant-player/christian-yelich-592885?stats=statcast-r-zones-mlb

  20. His K% on fastballs is pretty telling too... 2019 - 28.1% 2020 - 40.3% 2021 - 52.9% His K% on breaking and offspeed has remained relatively unchanged over the years but its the fastball K-rate that is really killing him.
