  1. Cubs fire sale. Ya love to see it. I truly wonder how big of a deal it is for teams to deal within the division. Like, if we had a strong offer for Bryant would they go elsewhere for somehting they view as slightly lower?
  2. Jeff Passan @JeffPassan BREAKING: The New York Mets are finalizing a trade to acquire shortstop Javier Baez from the Chicago Cubs, sources tell ESPN. Deal is pending medicals.
  3. All the brewers moves are ones that are out of nowhere. What premier bat have we not been linked to? Hello Byron Buxton!
  4. Drew Pomeranz vibes from this move...
  5. Thought this was a joke...but nope. https://www.treehugger.com/why-millionaire-pitcher-daniel-norris-lives-in-a-van-4868265
  6. His ERA inflated, per his FIP of 3.78. He's been productive in the past two season, but not so much this year. Likely hurt by his bad Tigers team, but also possible they see something they can tweak to make him effective again. Dominant against lefties and it barely cost us anything. This will be all worth it when Norris strikes out Seager, Bellinger and Muncy in the 7th inning of the NLCS clinching game.
  7. Booking my hotel for late October and taking off work. Clearly one of those instances where they think they can change something in order for him to be successful because on the surface he has pretty terrible numbers. At least the cost won't be high.
  8. Jeff Passan @JeffPassan · 1m The Milwaukee Brewers are finalizing a deal to acquire left-hander Daniel Norris from the Detroit Tigers, sources tell @kileymcd and me.
  9. A couple relievers today sounds like a winning recipe to me.
  10. I am definitely not getting anything done at work the rest of the week. Just constantly refreshing Twitter.
  11. I’m certainly not the first to say it here, but yeah, between Adames and maybe Rowdy, he may already have made the most impactful moves they will make this season. This is hard for me to believe. I fully expect some relief help but with Woodruff, Burnes and Peralta leading the rotation and Hader closing things out Stearns knows he has to take advantage of an elite pitching staff. We have been scoring runs lately but it is obvious that offense is one of our more glaring needs especially with Yelich/Hiura not coming around. If he makes a move I think it is a splash for a big name. I don't see the value in adding the David Peralta's of the world.
  12. You just know Stearns has something big cooking and its going to be for someone that hasn't been mentioned in rumors. It seems that is usually how he operates. It's my birthday so I am hoping for a nice present today
  13. I'm really not interested in Story. His numbers are pumped up by the Coors affect. .242/.310/.435 for a .745 OPS on the road in his career. For what he is going to cost, its just not worth it IMO.
  14. Yelich 1st Half vs 2nd Half Tracker (games through 7/26) ABs: 187 / 34 AVG: .241 / .206 OBP: .399 / .270 SLG: .369 / .353 OPS: .768 / .623 ISO: .128 / .147 BB%: 19.7 / 8.1 K%: 27.7 / 27.0 2B: 7 / 2 HR: 5 / 1 His decline has been remarkable so I will continue to track it
  15. Wow. Crazy to think the 1/2 guys in the MVP race have had such drastic declines. I know they are good friends too...
  16. Interesting. He does write for the Athletic so maybe there is some legitimacy to this. I am always skeptical when I hear Brewers rumors since Stearns usually keeps his move close to the chest.
  17. This as well. No idea how legit this guy is but he does write for The Athletic. I am sure they would love to trade Cain but I find it hard to believe someone would actually want him at that salary: "As usual for small market teams, the #Brewers are always looking for opportunities to shed payroll. One source tells me they are looking to trade CF Lorenzo Cain before Saturday’s trade deadline." https://twitter.com/BravesFromLA/status/1419741807160659969?s=20
  18. Just hit Yelich lead off...seriously. All he can do is draw walks. This is sad.
  19. I'm a bit surprised that our first three picks (all college bats) all signed for over slot value. I figured they would keep them under slot value to put more money to Riggio. Not saying they still can't do that but a bit surprised at the first three going over slot.
  20. Right. 2.5 years of control. If they could put together a package without including Mitchell I would consider that a win. Turang seems expendable with Adames in the fold so a package headlined by Turang would be fine with me. But if it had to include Mitchell then it is what it is. It seems Sal Frelick is a very similar player to Mitchell.
  21. Probably a nothingburger. As we've learned here in the past, the Stearns camp rarely is responsible for any info getting out. If there's any legitimacy to this, it'd be because it was coming from the other side of a deal, IMO. I’d say probably something and soon, considering the source. Right, leak probably not from Stearns side. Jose Ramirez
  22. It is geared more towards the younger crowd so everything you are saying matches what the experience should be. I am not sure why anyone would think this would be a good way to watch the game it is basically just one huge block party. There are far better options to watch the game than going to the Deer District or any other block party type of an event. If you are going to the Deer District it is mainly just for the social experience and really shouldn't be for viewing the game. To me that is just a duh statement and I am having trouble figuring out why someone would even consider going to this if their goal is to watch the game. Yeah when I went down there earlier in the series I was surprised at how small the screen was. Obviously looks so much bigger when the show the district on TV but its pretty small and low to the ground for how many people are there. If you are going to watch in the district go to the area where the beer garden is. The screen is MUCH bigger and a WAY better viewing experience.

  24. I'll second that. I'd even say the majority of the crowd is younger than 20-somethings because they don't ID to get into the district. I am (relatively) young at 33 and I felt so old down there during game 3. We got there about an hour before game time and spent maybe 15 minutes there before my friend got puked on by a high school kid. We went to the bars instead. MUCH better.
