  1. I, too, wish that the Brewers had an elite offense to go with their strong rotation, bullpen, and defense.
  2. Ope. I thought this would be a thread about Haines’s resounding success in helping Omar Narvaez rebound this year.
  3. Having Bradley makes this 10x easier. But I miss Lo in the lineup already. Makes it feel way more like 2020 the past few days.
  4. If they move it here, they need to play the Futures Game at Helfaer. x)
  5. It is not at all far-fetched to imagine Lo Cain posting a five win season. He had one down year, and it seemed largely due to bad luck. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/lorenzo-cain-victim-of-circumstance/ He also looked like the best hitter on the team out of the gate last year. I’m pumped for his return, I’m sayin’.
  6. Zack Britton To Undergo Arthroscopic Elbow Surgery: https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2021/03/yankees-zack-britton-mri-elbow.html
  7. Fun Braun note, as it's looking more likely he's about to hang up the cleats... With 216 career SB, Ryan would currently be #9 on the active leaders list: https://www.baseball-reference.com/leaders/SB_active.shtml
  8. No offense to Mr Bradley, but if him joining the team means Lo Cain is heading elsewhere... boo-urns.
  9. Two top-fifty free agents this year.
  10. Not to mention Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin and Jimmy Nelson. Edit: And Josiah Gray. My goodness.
  11. Is it time? I think it’s time. Looking forward to full seasons from Woodruff and Burnes and Williams, Lindblom getting into the zone, Yeli hitting that video room and bouncing back, Kest Daddy rising like a phoenix from the ashes of that sophomore slump, Omar Narvaez hitting like Omar Narvaez, Urias making us the winners of that trade, Lo Cain doing Lo Cain things,... ron-paul-its-happening.gif basically
  12. “The Brewers are cheap” is the absolute worst take. It adds no insight and creates a hostile, combative vibe in every thread it infects around here.
  13. I get the sense the Brewers might have one big 1-2 year offer in them this offseason. I agree, but there’ll be an option, too. Always an option.
  14. Bingo. Lots of pieces still on the board. And the later it gets, I feel like the higher the chances of seeing some Yaz/Moose style one year deals.
  15. Ooh, ooh. I know this song. Low risk, low reward. Play it again, Dave.
  16. Let's get this out of the way: "Our savior! Sign me up for a ticket package now." "Throw some more $&@* at the wall, Stearns! Gadang, this team is cheap." "Churn at the bottom of the roster is reasonable, and to be expected if you've paid attention in the Stearns era." "Controllable young talent. Positional versatility. Still young. Post-hype prospect. Yadda yadda." "Some of you guys act like every schmo we bring in is going to be the next Jesus (Aguilar)." "Nobody's saying he's going to be earth-shattering. But it's nice to look at the bright side." "Yes yes, we are starving for something to talk about, friends." All of this has happened before, and will happen again.
  17. This is a good point. Got me thinkin’ on it. Thanks.
  18. "franchise value has very little to do with operating revenue" I don't see how that can be true. Operating revenue going to zero would bring franchise values to zero, for example. Confidence in projected operating revenues over... quite a long term... seems to me to be a primary component of franchise value. (Profit being a more direct component, of course.) Maybe it makes sense to suggest that a few years of COVID-induced shortfalls won't affect longer-term valuations. It's not unreasonable to quibble about how player payroll fits into the balance sheet. But the notion that revenue is irrelevant to a business's value is a bridge too far. I'd be eager to hear a more detailed case for that, if you have one.
  19. Decent recent numbers, lefty, funky delivery, not too far away, not yet pitching in relief, not yet old for his level. What a pleasant surprise.
  20. Did you not hear the Ryon Healy news?
  21. I’d be surprised if he comes back. There’ll be more cost-effective options, and this front office is not going to be emotional about it. Heck, I’m not, either. I like Braun a lot. But I’m fine with saying goodbye.
