  1. Agreed. I will admit I was very worried about the defense at the midway point, but they’ve gelled beyond my wildest expectations. I’ve still seen enough promising teams in the last decade implode against a monstrous defensive front to be worried about the next couple games, but I feel better about this team than I have since 2014, and think this team will be rated more highly than that one when it’s all over. I just hope I’m not playing Charlie Brown to the Packers’ Lucy one more time.
  2. I don't know how he played yesterday, BUT if he played as well as he played for us last year, this could be a huge signing and he should be our starter this week if he is still playing at that level. This was an awesome pickup and one that I didn't think was possible. I highly doubt he got signed to be a starter, and I think Turner + Wagner are still the obviously best choices until proven otherwise, but I do feel around 17% better about this game knowing a capable backup tackle is in the hopper.
  3. I didn't see much of the game. Can you detail why Hooper looks bad? He dropped an easy TD on an out route that was thrown beautifully to the end zone. It could have been quite significant, too, since the Steelers were threatening to claw back into it by that point. All I was thinking when I watched it is how hard it is to imagine Tonyan dropping a ball like that.
  4. In case any further evidence was needed, Tonyan > Hooper. Glad we didn't back the Brinks truck up for that guy in the offseason.
  5. Weak sauce decision to run on 3rd and long, not go for it on 4th and short, opting instead for a 50-yard FG. That miss is what Payton deserves. Poor coaching. Of course, Chicago does nothing with the field position.
  6. Gutsy effort by Heinicke. Washington got way more than they could have hoped for from him tonight. They’ve got to be disappointed in their defense (perhaps their stats are a bit inflated by playing the NFC East six times...), but Tampa is pretty good on offense. They’ll be a tough out.
  7. This Heinicke kid has some x-factor to him. Making this Wash-TB game interesting, at the very least.
  8. [sarcasm]Rodgers was on the cusp of turning him into a star[/sarcasm]
  9. So, this is the only LA game I’ve seen this year, but I’m reading this Rams offense like this: if we give Goff the Trubisky treatment, we can shut him down. They have some great receivers, and Akers is coming into his own as a back, but Goff can’t throw deep, especially with his hand in this condition. Am I missing anything?
  10. Welcome to Lambeau, Los Angeles
  11. As is tradition. It is comforting to know, even in these chaotic times, that some things will always be the same.
  12. Aaron Donald heading to the locker room. Potentially huge.
  13. So Kevin Stefanski and two other Cleveland coaches tested positive today (or perhaps yesterday?). Perhaps the celebration of a successful pandemic season for the NFL was just a tad premature. Play callers and/or star players going down would ruin the postseason in a heartbeat. You have to figure being in a small market, less dense urban area with fewer tempting and risky social environments could be another advantage for the Packers. Here’s hoping they can dodge the plague bullet for three more games!
  14. Alexander absolutely stonewalling Graham at the one foot line might be the most beautiful moment of the season so far.
  15. Nice drive. Time to breathe, everybody.
  16. Way to just throw your head at a guy, King. Don’t sweat the technique.
  17. Yeah, should. Let’s hope Rodgers has time to find him, and the running game can keep the Bears pass rush honest.
  18. But at what price our souls? I’ve never regretted not having him on the squad. I don’t need the moral conundrum while I watch sports. Life is complicated enough.
  19. Guess we better go win a Super Bowl then.
  20. It’s nice to keep him sharp every once in a while. Nice little tuneup. Thanks, Tannehill.
  21. Man, that was uncharacteristic. And, of course, after Al and Chris are heaping the praises on Rodgers.
  22. I’m just so geeked about his progress in his reads and becoming more decisive. He could be really, really good if this continues.
  23. Well, maybe we can make literally getting all the breaks a workable postseason plan...
