    Any attempt to humiliate the Minnesota Vikings is exempt from douche nozzleism. Yeah, if it’s the Vikings on the receiving end, the rules of engagement are pretty much always “terminate with extreme prejudice.” It would have been nice to guarantee better seeding, but Packers can take care of their own business. Unless it gets the Packers to the playoffs, I can’t really root for Minnesota under any other circumstances.

    No question that KC is catching the Saints at the right time with Brees coming back from a pretty painful injury and not getting much going at all, but Mahomes (and Reid's play calling) is looking pretty special against a very stout defense. The MVP race may be all but decided today, as might the #1 seed in the NFC. As others have noted, hard to be too disappointed in the former going to Mahomes if it means the latter ends up in our favor.

    What is with the home games this year? They’ve all been uglier than possum roadkill. Gotta get that figured out. EDIT: I mean, beside the obvious not having a home crowd. It’s the offense that most concerns me at home.

    Thank goodness for Mason Crosby. This team is infuriating sometimes.

    He had some clutch possession-receiver type catches, a couple were really nice contested ones that forced him to use his hands and not his body. I loved seeing it—if he can consistently make those plays, this offense is among the best in football and can hang with anyone. If they can get the running game going, look out. The only thing that would stop them is defense and special teams...

    So, Dallas needs the win, they have to have a TD to stay in this thing. 1st and goal at the one. McCarthy just blasts away with Zeke up the middle at point blank range. Three. Straight. Times. Stuffed. He finally throws it to Cooper on 4th down and gets a TD, but before that, I have just this visceral experience of intense, nightmarish memory. I reflexively started looking for things to throw at the TV, then remembered it’s just the Cowboys, and nobody really cares...

    I know it’s early in the season to scoreboard watch, but Seattle is on major upset alert against the Giants of all teams. That could be very nice for us down the stretch.
