  1. I think it’s fair to say this is the kind of game you likely win if Yelich is in the lineup.
  2. Now I’m kinda hoping Cubs-Reds goes 20 innings. Even if the Cubs win that, they’d lose in the long run.
  3. Dang it. Braun had one to hit, too, and just missed it. Gotta shake it off and get back after it.
  4. Yes, it was the correct call. Pretty obvious actually. The live play and the first few replays did not provide a good look at what happened. They finally got a replay that showed the kick and it became clear. Pretty silly that the home plate ump flat missed it in real time when he was literally right on top of the play...
  5. Never say that about the Cards. They keep combing back worse than an army of zombie terminators. And of course, they almost immediately start to defy my expectations. Nothing to see here, just another guy being wrong on the internet...
  6. So, just checked in from work in time to see this one go final. Scherzer, c’mon, man. You’re better than that.
  7. So this goes against every instinct I have as a Brewers fan, but I think the Cards might be cooked and the Cubs are the big threat to Milwaukee, especially if St. Louis loses to Scherzer and the Nats tonight. The cards get the diamondbacks in between the Cubs series, which is a slightly tougher matchup than the absolutely listless pirates (whom the cubs play). I’ll go so far as to say that if the Cardinals lose tonight, they’ll finish with a worse record than the Brewers even if Milwaukee loses to SD. But I could see the Cubs and/or Nats still being a challenge, record-wise.
  8. Someone needs to write the definitive history of ol’ Coach Cooper. But, of course, he’d never agree to sit for an interview. Book learnin’ ain’t no way to understand a man.
  9. and commies, he hated commies too. Heck, Coop *killed* commies in ‘Nam. With his bare hands.
  10. I always pictured him as more of a High Life kind of guy. Unless he's trying to be cool with the hipsters. Coach Cooper was drinking PBR decades before those pudgy hipsters were a twinkle in their mama’s eye.
  11. Realistically which team do we want to win this game though? I mean I think our playoff odds are better if the Nats lose and we gain a game on them. But if I could choose the results I want the Cardinals to be out of the playoffs. We historically play so poorly against them I want nothing to do with them come the postseason. And I want no part of the WC game, even if I think CC and the guys would handle that with aplomb. Too many variables in a one-game setting. Division all the way.
  12. That wasn’t quite vintage Cain there. Guess a one-run lead is going to have to hold up. What else is new? If this Crew has demonstrated anything this year, it’s that they can handle the tight finishes.
  13. I don't mind them being cautious with Hiura. Not I, to be clear. It’ll be nice to have a defensive upgrade, too.
