  1. Man, why did Thames have to hit it there? Just pull it a little, big fella! Now we need some Gamel magic.
  2. Biggest reason why it is in question now? JJ and Knebel not on the roster.
  3. I get the passion from the CC haters, but come on. Somebody else in that bullpen has to get outs. Otherwise what are we even talking about here? Guerra and Pomeranz are pitching high leverage innings between now and the end of the season. If they’re such sure losers, which seems to be the general consensus, then we’re doomed, and CC pitching Hader in a tie game to start the 8th tonight won’t change anything. It makes absolutely no difference. Might as well accept the finality of it all and find some peace.
  4. I’m pretty unimpressed by managers getting into screaming matches with umpires. It’s entertaining, but if these guys (umps) are as egotistical and sensitive as many of them seem, you’re likely hurting yourself in the long run by going after them too hard. I wouldn’t be surprised if they held a grudge and you might not get a decent call next time when you need it. The chest-to-chest yelling match is going the way of beanball wars, and I’m cool with that. Managers should endeavor to stay in games, unless a star is about to get tossed, then I’m ok with a manager taking that bullet, if he can.
  5. Small sample size alert: Freitas cannot be retired. You can only hope to contain him on the base paths.
  6. I’m not even mad right now. Houston is a great team. The bottom line is that you shouldn’t have to count on winning every game down the stretch, especially against teams like this. If the Brewers could have just taken care of business against the cupcake teams, this would just be another (likely) loss, but a forgettable and survivable one. The season was sown in the summer when all anyone in the central was doing was treading water, and now we have the reaping.
  7. Watching the Brewers this year feels like watching the Packers in 2015 or 2016. You looked at the whole picture and thought to yourself that the team had no business being decent, but with Rodgers, you think maybe. Yelich has been that for the Brewers this year. The definition of an MVP, in my mind.
  8. Lately, yes. I’m not going to hold anybody’s performance against Cole against them, though, even if it is part of a worrying trend.
  9. Almost 50 pitches already through two innings for Houser. Good thing CC is playing with an expanded roster today, because it looks like he’ll need it.
  10. We could really use the return of early-season Grandal this month. Get hot, big guy.
  11. Just how they draw it up! Leadoff walk, enticing the hottest hitter in their lineup to then scald a line drive double play. Perfect!
  12. Or, heck, if Grandal doesn’t feebly tap the first pitch he sees into the shift.
  13. That no-hitter went final 30 mins ago. Are you watching on a delay or something?
  14. Or maybe he just needs time to adjust since, you know, he is a rookie with fewer than 100 major league ABs who was in AA to start the year.
  15. What a huge moment in brewers history! Freitas, as advertised! Positively Ruthian BB there!
