  1. Yeah, I mean, I guess you could interpret my comment that way. This reads like an explain a movie plot badly riff.
  2. Indeed. My point being, as much as I love our baby Brewers, and this offense is absolutely rejuvenated this year, I think we’re going to need a little more of the Schwarber approach sprinkled in if we’re going to get where we want to go.
  3. That is just a dang good at bat by Schwarber, a seasoned veteran of fall baseball right there. Nothing but respect for that.
  4. Not exactly the time of the year I’d like to see the bullpen start making things interesting. Granted, the recent opponents might have something to do with it…
  5. If that is all true, then Murphy got too cute by at least a half. That is such a narrow strategic path he tried to walk, that I think he was destined to fail, because Devin still had to warm up so it's not like you completely spared him. So Devin didn't get total rest, the rest of the bullpen is still shot with seven more games before a day off, and we lost a winnable game against a key team. Just brutal.
  6. I know there's a lot of baseball left, but that is horrendously deflating. Going to be so hard to get a bye now, with LA's tiebreaker and seven more games in a row against Philly and these same Diamondbacks. Losing this one just sucks so hard.
  7. Holy cow, this inning could not have started any worse. We are really about to hand this gift straight back to Arizona.
  8. I was unaware of this--tough spot for Banister to be in, but still: yikes.
  9. It shall pass into lore: "Man, pitching Paredes here is a head-scratcher, but at least Murph didn't pull a Lovullo!"
  10. My goodness, the inanity of choosing to pitch to Chourio with the game on the line. Has Lovullo been living under a rock?
  11. No Love, no surprise. James Jones was saying pregame that he came back from an MCL after just one week and had permanent nerve damage as a result, so, take your time, Jordan!
  12. But why aim so low? We could consider that the Brewers have scored more than 4 runs a total of 69 times so far this year, which is a whopping 46.9% of their games! That’s a lot of days where the offense wasn’t the problem.
  13. Mike Trout is unreal. 30HR/49SB guy as a 20 year old in 2012. Oh, and he went on to have 8 more years that were better than that in his career. Did you know he could have been a Brewer…🥲
  14. It seems Canha and Encarnacion are still professional hitters.
  15. The Diamondbacks pitching isn’t anything to write home about. Over 7 games, I’d expect us to be able to score a few runs (as I attempt to speak offense into existence, as the kids say). The key is going to be keeping their bats at bay. If our pitching is as good as I think it can be, this should be a great test.
  16. Well, that was certainly the Devin Williams experience again tonight, but good to be back in the win column, baby!
  17. Yeah, I am dumbfounded at the insistence on Malik Willis as the preferred backup. What an absolutely damning indictment to Clifford's abilities if he can't beat out a guy who hasn't even been here a month. If week 1 looked ugly, we may need new vocabulary for week 2. I guess we can only hope we find a way to win ugly.
  18. That seems…borderline insane? I mean, yeah, 70%, maybe even 60% of Love is better than anything else we’ve got, and I know it’s his front leg, but if he’s a statue back there and the line struggles again, look out. Not sure I want to rush the franchise back quite that soon unless he’s got a decent amount of mobility. I think they have a shot at this thing Sunday even with Cliff under center, and 0-2 isn’t fatal, especially in a 17-game season. But I guess we’ll see. I’m still thinking smoke screen here. We’ve played a lot of injury games with guys like Aaron Jones and Christian Watson, and this feels like more of the same.
  19. Let’s say he misses 6 games. That or anything more, I’d say take your lumps, draft high, and bankroll cap space for next year. Tannehill probably wants $10 mil and would have the packers over a barrel. I’d rather have the space and know exactly what we need on defense to make the new scheme work and on the o-line to be full go for next season. If Love is supposed to miss four or five games, then maybe Tannehill becomes appealing. If it’s two or three, roll the dice on what you’ve got in-house and hope you steal a win somewhere.
