  1. Counsell should certainly never be sitting Hiura for a a career .750 OPS MiLB player who has never been super young for his level. Especially when that player hits from the same side of the plate. Glad Mathias has been decent in his 28 PAs, but it is incredibly likely he is no good at all. I wasn't really calling for Hiura to be benched just shocked at how rough he's looking. Mathias should be in the lineup somewhere. Pick a spot in this horrific lineup. For that matter play Nottingham too. Can't be any worse than the guy hitting 168.
  2. Hiura down to 226 with two more strikeouts. Mathias back on the bench again? There has to be more to this story. It's almost as if Counsell is tanking.
  3. The Counsell Sogard situation is in need of a dateline/60 minutes type investigation. It defies logic in any reasonable sense. Holt gets booted after zero time and for the second time in two yerars Sogard is wretched and continues to play just about every day. Where is the local media?? We need answers.
  4. Black Panther was a fantastic movie that was a first of it's kind. Can't believe he was already sick then. 42 was an incredible performance as well. RIP.
  5. Let's be clear with Gyrko Mathias and Urias all playing well there is absolutely no reason to play Sogard again. Pinch hit fine but he should not start another game with this team this year.
  6. It's time to see Nottingham play. We need to know if the guy has a future or not.
  7. It may seem like more, but Justin Grimm has a grand total of 4 appearances. Yeah it does seems like more. He's been brutal and he's old so bring on a young guy imo.
  8. This may have been the most lifeless a brewers team has looked in since the Jerry Royster Davy Lopes Brewers.
  9. It's unbelievable that someone thinks Ryan Braun is a better option at this point.
  10. It's crazy how much rope the brewers are giving guys like Sogard and Grimm in a 60 game season. It's like they forgot the season is half over. Treat these guys as such. They stink get them out of here. The autopsy of this season is going to take a week to write. Nobody could have had a worse one then Stearns. Every single guy he has brought in has been terrible. It's unbelievable in retrospect.
  11. The problem for me is a season with no fans doesn't give you much hope that they are going to out and improve the product. We see they went cheap coming off huge years at the gate. I would sell Hader to the highest bidder but I don't trust Stearns that they are going to make the right picks on who to get back. Not terrible but not good is the trip to no mans land that this team seems to be headed down.
  12. In short nope. To boot there isn't a single bat off the bench either. Crazy how bad this roster is right now.
  13. Looks like we going to have to add Lindbloom to the list of off season mistakes. This guy has shown us nothing but the ability to get hit. A three year deal made no sense to me all things considered but it ain't looking good at all.
  14. Someone better inform Counsell that Urias was the key piece to a trade and is supposed to profile as an everyday player. If Urias is going to continue to sit and watch Eric Sogard everyday this trade isn't going to look any better.
  15. Thornburg looked good. Maybe Reds will put him on the block if they fall out of it.
  16. Would love them to scrounge around the bargain bin at the deadline for one more arm to add to just to keep guys fresh down the stretch but yeah.
  17. Can someone explain why Garcia is hitting leadoff since he can't really hit and never walks?? I don't understand.
  18. I'm troubled that Ray is almost 26 and already on the roster, yet he can't earn a call-up over a journeyman with no upside. Not a bunch of MLB players from that draft yet that make the pick stand out as particularly bad. However, the next outfielder taken was Kyle Lewis, who is looking like a star and the AL ROY favorite. No offense to Peterson but yeah the fact that he's here is an indictment on this organization. If Ray can't find a role on this team he's done.
  19. I keep hearing how the Grisham deal was a good one because we got a high end shortstop in Urias. That's cool except he never plays short and he doesn't play against righties despite Sogard being the other option. Color me baffled
  20. Trent Grisham with a three homer game tonight. Seven bombs on the year. It never made sense to me to trade this guy considering what he accomplished last season. In the big picture the problem with the trade to me was you spent money on Garcia instead of letting this kid have a shot to play every day. That money could have been spent in another direction. I understand you have to give to get but an organization drafts a kid in the first round. He struggles and then all of a sudden the light goes on. He rakes and comes up and helps you win. Then you give up?? I didn't like it then and I hate it know. Left handed stick with some speed who can play center which he is doing?? What am I missing?? Stearns off season press conference has to start with this question. Why did you give up so easily on Trent Grisham? Throw in another great start by Davies and it's like the Brewers were just making deals to make deals. We are not better because of this deal and it never appeared we would be. Paying a 29 year old Garcia who does not profile as a star player is the kind of deal the Brewers cannot afford to make.
  21. In all honesty when the playoffs were expanded I never really considered that the Brewers would not get in based on the talent on hand. I miscalculated. This team is in trouble.
