  1. Brewers seem to have issues stopping the bleeding from the mound. Woodruff has had it now Davies. Vogelbach is a big boythough.
  2. I have been in favor of the pitcher hitting 8th all season. If you are going to leave Yelich 2nd especially. I know others have said the same. Give Counsell credit for trying it. Hope it continues. Makes sense.
  3. The reason you have to respect the Scherzer's of the world is just the consistency man. Those guys year in and year out are studs and u can pencil them in. Chacin was great last year now he's terrible. It's why you need to find a few horses.
  4. The problem as I see it is allocation of resources. The Brewers need better payroll balance between the pitching staff and the hitting side. I don't know where the Brewers rank but they have to have a very low percentage of it's payroll on the pitching side of things. This would be interesting to see. You get what you pay for and the Brewers don't seem to be spending a ton of the 118 million on the pitching side of things.
  5. the explanation is the Braves and Cubs have more resources than the Brewers. I know that's not an explanation people want to hear, but that's the explanation. It is amazing to me how quick Brewer fans are to bail out management by saying they don't have any money, you can't expect them to compete with the Atlanta Braves!! We are a small market team. Draft and develop. Man, I want to own a team in a market where the fans are like we just can't afford anybody. It's unbelievable.
  6. the explanation is the Braves and Cubs have more resources than the Brewers. I know that's not an explanation people want to hear, but that's the explanation. And that is why baseball continues to lose popularity compared to the NFL and NBA. Yes.
  7. This. People complaining about Stearns not making a move, what is he supposed to do? Add 2 quality starters and 2 relievers? Woodruff, Davies, Hader. That’s 3/13 of a good pitching staff. How do you propose he fixes the other 10/13? And yes, it’s his job to put together a decent staff in the first place, so I that criticism would be fair. But it’s not like he can just pull a handful of quality arms out of nowhere. True but we still don't have an explanation for why the braves and cubs were able to find a way to bring in the two free agent arms that were available for cash. That was a mistake
  8. This bullpen is going to fine. We just need to be patient. If we want to win 5 years from now we need to stick with these guys!!
  9. If the brewers care about Shaw as a person they will throw in the towel. A guy can only take so much. Every corner man has to look out for his fighter.
  10. We get it. In your universe...the sky is falling. No need to beat a dead horse... My bad I forgot. Give me a B!! Give me an R!! Let's go guys!! We can do this!! This team is playing well. Pitching is fine. Shaw is going to turn it around any day now.
  11. Why didn't the Reds care about Senzel super 2 status so he is helping them win but Brewers do with Hiura? Am I missing something?
  12. Stearns has this job for life. He has no sense of urgency. He can lay out a 10 year vision and Mark A is going to buy it. The urgency we fans feel is not matched by the guy making the decisions so it's going to be a long summer.
  13. Counsell has no options. It sucks but he has been dealt a losing hand. This team doesn't have the horses and there isn't anything being done to address it. It's unfortunate. Fan base has to demand accountability.
  14. Even the diehards have to admit this team is in trouble. You can't pitch and you can't hit you can't win.
  15. The shaw situation is the template for how they will handle Nelson. You are a great guy who used to be good so keep hanging in there and even though you are killing us maybe you can turn it around and be decent.
  16. Oh by the way this team has three hits against Tanner Roark. They could get no hit Saturday against Castillo.
  17. Outside of Woodruff who else does this team build its rotation around? What does this rotation look like in a year? This is the scariest part of the trouble they are in.
  18. Outside of Yelich the next two best players are on one year deals and no lock to be back. Let's say they don't Who is next? The future is promised to no one. This team is in trouble.
  19. Freddy seems much more comfortable out of the pen. Has looked good of late.
  20. I don't think he's special, but I do think his current struggles are being exaggerated. He's hammered some balls to straightaway center that have been right at guys. He's already a streaky hitter, then you add in some bad luck and sure, he'll look bad. I don't think his defense is overrated, but I think that's more a matter of opinion now because I just don't trust most defensive metrics on IF'ers anymore with the shifting. If you want to bring up Dubon, he's hot, that'd be fine. Saladino you know what you have and it's not much. But two main things. 1-I am realizing why I don't post in IGT's, the reactionary stuff is absurd(not referring to you, just the whole, "we're down 3-0, the sky is falling" stuff and then my reason for not wanting to send him down, I don't think he's really earned a demotion at this point. He's had a really bad June, but he's also had a .163 BABIP and it's not like he's striking out 40 pct of the time. I'm on board with sending Shaw down. I don't know that sending Arcia down accomplishes anything. He's a glove first defensive SS with a .680 OPS after a really bad month. And with that, I'm gonna just leave the IGT. It's too reactionary/sky is falling as I said. I get as annoyed with all the bashing of the Brewers organization and what Stearns should have done type hindsight as I do with the Brewers struggling. I get annoyed by all the fans burying their heads in the sand. Even the night the brewers lost to the Marlins 16-0 guys are on here saying why so negative? How can you RIP this team? When they play bad it's fair game. When they play well give them props. Fan is short for fanatic but it doesn't mean blind fanatic. Call like you see it should be everyone's motto.
