  1. Super happy he’s finally getting his chance, also saw that former Brewer Michael Reed was called up by Atlanta today, he’s having a huge year in the minors and I always wished success for him.
  2. Who needs to trade for a starting pitcher and give up prospects when you have phenoms like Peralta and also Corbin Burnes in AAA. What a performance. And if you tell me Burnes has struggled in AAA then go look at Josh Hader’s stats in Colorado Springs and get back to me. In Peralta’s 3 scoreless start you could see how good he started and I was worried he would get tired or lose his control and the wheels would fall off but that moment never came in any of those games and he only got better as time went on. He did bad vs Minnesota but who cares 3 out of 4 starts scoreless ain’t too shabby.
  3. I’m ecstatic to see Peralta called up, hoping he plays too well for them to send him back down. Burnes is next.
  4. Alec Asher was selected from Triple A, Wade Miley out 6-8 weeks and transferred to the 60 day DL. Jacob Barnes sent to Triple A to open a 25 man roster spot. This surprised me, but can’t say I’m disappointed at all that Barnes was sent down.
  5. I was skeptical of Miley but he pitched very well tonight, but I wanna see him do it against a good team not the trash Reds. I’ll still be pissed about the Cubs series until they play them again
  6. Should’ve been off the team after that Kris Bryant home run in the playoff race in extra innings last year
  7. Here’s another stat, Hader is the first pitcher in MLB history to post a K/9 over 18 for an entire month (15 innings or more). Hader had a K/9 of 19.5
  8. I have seen him use it a few times this year, and I remember one time he got a strikeout this year with a changeup
  9. Hader didn’t pitch in the Cubs series, so he’s pitched in 1 of the last 5 games, the same amount he would have had he been a starter. If he was a starter he would probably be pitching 5-6 innings every 5 days compared to the 3-4 he’s currently pitching every 5 games, isn’t that more valuable? I get that he’s valuable in a role where he can close out games but I feel he’d more valuable as a starter pitching even more innings than he is with another lights out reliever closing games. The White Sox realized this with Chris Sale, and hopefully the Brewers realize this. I thought Randy Johnson was also another case of a lights out reliever converted to starter but he was a starter his whole career outside of a few outlying relief appearances. My guess is the only reason Hader hasn’t been made a starter is because he hasn’t developed a reliable changeup yet as a third pitch, but once he does the Brewers would be foolish not to make him a starter imo. If he isn’t successful as a starter then by all means convert him back to a reliever. A lot of people point to Andrew Miller as a reliever comparison but the only reason Andrew Miller is a lights out reliever is because he failed as a starter early in his career. Had he been successful he would still be starting.
  10. Wow that's a quality stat, and I also totally agree with your final sentence there. Saw another stat that said Hader is the first pitcher to record 8 outs in a game in which every out recorded was a strikeout
  11. First time since 1996 that a pitcher got a save with 8 K’s in the save (Randy Johnson), however he did it in 3 innings and Hader did it in 2.2. Hader is the first pitcher in MLB history to get an 8 K save in under 3 innings. And just like Randy Johnson (and Chris Sale), Hader should hopefully be converted from dominant reliever to dominant starter and the Brewers would be foolish not to try and do this.
  12. 2 runs in 4 games against the Brewers annoying douchey rival, I don’t think I’ve ever been more embarrassed to be a fan of this team
  13. drake is out of options. he'd have to be removed from the 40-man roster and clear waivers and accept an outright assignment to the minor leagues to remain in the brewers' organization. Even better!
  14. If anything other than Drake getting optioned happens I will seriously question CC’s mental state
  15. didn’t Drake prove how worthless he is during the playoff race last year? That Kris Bryant home run in extra innings off Drake to basically smash any remaining playoff hopes is seared in my memory
  16. Win 8 in a row then score 3 runs in 2 games against an actually important team to beat, nice
  17. If I’m Counsell right now I’m pulling a suicide squeeze to tie this game
  18. Man that 1-6 lineup looks intimdating, too bad all 6 of them can only play when there’s a DH
  19. Somehow Drake is still on the roster. Stearns must not want to admit he was wrong in signing him. How is this bum still wasting a bullpen spot that Adrian Houser or someone else should have?
  20. George Kottaras once did that with the Brewers in the old Marlins stadium I remember. So Harper is in elite company with Frank Thomas and George Kottaras #KottarasForHallOfFame
  21. I could see Nottingham being one of those guys who didn’t light the world on fire in the minors but comes up and just absolutely rakes in the majors, hope I’m right
