  1. I remember seeing that from Arcia in a future stars game. Baffling how that has not been corrected.
  2. Sheffield without all the waggle. Griffey Jr without the tall stoic stance. Funny you mention Sheffield. With all the comps mentioned last night, he was one I thought of. Hiura seems much more interested in playing in Milwaukee than he ever did.
  3. At some point Hiura is going to be so highly thought of, that there won’t be any comparisons -his swing reminds me of.... I can’t think of a guy with that type of compact swing and inside out ability to get his hands through and barrel up the ball especially on the inner half of the plate. Very impressive.
  4. Yep. Lost his eye from a year ago and it’s killed this team this season. Good eyes out there in centerfield at the wall though.
  5. Good comp. What a luxury to have another guy in the pen with that type of ability. Seems to have the talent - would be great to see it realized as a Brewer, whether as a starter or reliever.
  6. Cain is getting over his thumb ailment; the bats have started to heat up; starting pitching has been solid; in the playoffs if season ended today. Lots to be optimistic about.
  7. Yeah put our 7th best batter in a position to hit most... Seems logical. Why would anyone get mad about that? Thought we were an analytics franchise. Reports are that Cain has really felt better the last 2 weeks - treatment and rest for the thumb and his numbers have proven that out. I don’t have them, but I’m sure a few out there do.
  8. Losing a series to the brewers will shake anyone’s confidence and make you rethink your life’s choices I was thinking all things German is the Braves Kryptonite. Sausage, beer, Strasburg...
  9. CC has been very pro-veteran, if you will, with the everyday players and lineups this season. Very patient with Shaw, rightly so perhaps. I realize we don’t have a lot of young guys in the everyday lineup but Hiura can be a beast anywhere in the order. So, why 7th? Not a huge deal to me. Another example of trusting your vets against a righty.
  10. Braves leave town slightly limping and are now getting schalacked by the Nats early 8-1 in 3rd.
  11. Hader last pitched on the 12th - 2 innings. Does he need work to stay sharp - never mind. Go to him now!
  12. Don’t forget Ben Oglivie. He was a stick figure. I appreciate your efforts to debate my statement and you provided ample evidence. I still am amazed that those guys generate that kind of power.
  13. Actually his frame is perfect for generating crazy power with the leverage he can get. I don’t disagree with the leverage part but you can’t say that the majority of sluggers throughout the history of any level of baseball are built like him.
