  1. If they released C Bentancourt .... instead of Bandy... I would seriously be upset at that point ! I think he would be an upgrade to bandy both behind the plate and at the plate. I also hope this negativity is a reverse jinx today for Bandy. Though not holding my breath.
  2. Typically you want a strong defensive backup catcher. Bandy is not that ... pleeeease can we have Bentancourt , he can’t be worse than Bandy.
  3. It’s pretty awesome to be playing with house money on a Sunday ... and even with 2 great relievers out you still have CK and to a lesser extent Albers available ... such a nice pen
  4. Are you talking about Hader or JJ
  5. Ugh can we replace bandy with ... anyone? Damian miller doing anything these days? Lol I shudder when I see his name now! The rest of the Sunday lineup looks good though
  6. So you’re saying he’s ... slightly above average?
  7. Is this the optimism thread or the DFA Braun thread? We are missing most the starting staff, Thames, and Braun (or a anywhere near normal Braun)... and we are 10 over .500..... and just won 3 series on a tough trip ... cheers!
  8. Jesus heard you. Holy short stroke BOMB in the wind
  9. Peralta couldn’t sustain his first game pace of course. But I will say that curve is nice I wish he went to that vs Wilson. Rock not saying much now that Freddy is back on that inning ... he irks me guys , sorry, always has lol .
  10. Freddy does need to get his command tightened up tonight. But is it just me or is Rock super negative about Peralta...
  11. Watching Logan pitch , and looking at his previous stats, I feel like Mark Wahlberg’s character in the other guys when he finds out Eva Mendez is Will Ferrell’s wife... no seriously who is that!? Lol
  12. That was such a nice compact stroke on that homer !
  13. I agree. Excited to see what Choi can do. He has done well through spring training, his 1 AB in San Diego, and in the minors so I'm glad they are giving him a shot. Cain Yelich Aguilar Shaw Santana Choi Pina Villar Arcia Looks like a solid lineup! Is it bad that I think that looks better than having Braun anywhere in there... I'd love to see them have a breakout series with like 25 runs.
  14. Let's see how Peralta does in start 2 and how Suter does tonight and then line them up. Woodruff had a nice bounce back outing but right now the D-Backs are putting a very weak lineup on the field. No offense as he had the winning hit the other night, but if Descalso is your #3 hitter, you have problems. This is true. I just don't trust Suter with his junk balling... it doesn't translate to less than 3-5 runs in 3-5 innings and that some nights is plenty to doom us. At least Woody and Peralta have that big game potential.
  15. I am excited they went the "offensive" route for the weekend. Expected Phillips. But more than happy to see them extend the lineup and hope Choi just gets plugged in for some 1b/dh time. See what he can do!
  16. I have tempered excitement... but... as has been stated over and over... we have played good ball overall while getting minus production from a few main guys.... with not even half a starting rotation.... Knebel was out ... black holes on the bench.... just think if they "turn it on" against the division at all... we will be in a great position to make a postseason run. But look at the NL right now... the Phillies... the Braves... the Pirates... crazy. Who would have thought? (its only a quarter of the year, but thats starting to get to a decent sample size)
  17. Let's see if he makes it through the start first before we worry about who's spot he takes... lol... remember he wasn't even going to be DL'd at first for this injury .... I agree 100% that the "deserves to stay" standings are 1. Peralta 2. Woody 3. Suter
  18. I would jump off my Brewer’s fandom cliff if THAT happened lol oh my word
  19. like nails on a chalkboard , and makes as much sense as Jason Bateman in Dodgeball made
  20. Agreed.... BUT... one of these really NEEDS to be done!! The defensive route or the offensive route.. either way I would be happy with some move that helps the bench!
  21. Nottingham is on the AAA DL with an intercostal strain. Sounds like he won't be back in the immediate future. Well... crap. There goes that idea. I'm all for Choi to alternate with Aguilar (I do believe his greatest usage is vs lefties, and as a PH, where he shines the most).
  22. Saladino is playing above his head now but that's what you need over the course of a year, to cover up the Braun slumps/injuries. Villar and Arcia have had some really good at bats lately, and it's nice to see. Sure Villar now is sometimes taking TOO many pitches but he's actively trying to change his approach. And Arcia is going up the middle a lot, which means he looks close to breaking out. Pina finally has turned it on. Now my biggest gripe is not DL'ing Braun when at this point any problem he has had is literally a week thing. So what's an extra 3 days... instead of having JET BANDY the first option off the bench... bring up Phillips and have a super plus D outfield and Santana DH this weekend. ORRRRR Choi and have him DH or play first to spell Jesus so he can get a breather and stay productive. Same thing with Perez really, if these guys are going to miss 3-7 games anyhow, why not use the 10 day DL and bring up guys who can play? And can we agree that at this point the biggest offensive issue (and I honestly do not believe he adds much D value or game calling value) is Bandy. Can we let Nottingham backup Pina at this point?
  23. Sophia > Telly. By a lot. And the interview with Peralta's mom was fantastic. I thought she did a great job capturing the moment and doing so while translating both ways. That was impressive.
