  1. What’s a more rare feat for the Rattlers? Ward with the cycle or Dillard with 5 walks?
  2. I know nothing, but I got a good feeling about Tristan Peters.
  3. We also get another 500k from the 5% overage in Eye Black’s post. If we can get another 250k in savings from our last 4 picks, we’ll be looking pretty good. Granted, I’m pretty clueless when it comes to what it will take to sign these guys, but Riggio and Holten seem like the big money guys 11-20. I’d love to just blow our entire load on Riggio, Vires, and Rogers. Would be around a 550k bonus if you divided it equally three ways. Wonder if 750k Riggio, with 450k and 450k going to the other two would do it. Either way, I think we are definitely getting two of the three, with a possibility of Riggio and Holten if we go all in on the two really big ones.
  4. Think we could see an extremely pitching heavy draft just out of necessity? Seems like a ton of position prospects all getting crammed into Carolina next year, with two drafts worth of college bats going to Appleton.
  5. I think that request is pretty realistic. I’d even sacrifice a few of the lower HS guys to get at Rogers. Holten seems like the only lost cause. It all kind of boils down to how much to pay a 2nd round college senior. If we can get a huuuge savings on his $1.44 mil draft slot, anything is possible.
  6. How much are we looking at saving in the Smith pick? He’s got $1.44 million assigned as the pick value, but he’s a senior. Is there anyone we’d look to for precedence? Is it possible we get ~1 million to play with just with that pick alone? Combined with 100k here, 100k there with the rest of our top 10, we could get real nuts with those later HS guys.
  7. We may be in a similar situation. Gonna have two full Arizona teams combining to cram into Carolina. Would make sense to go college heavy the last two years to get some guys out in front of that wave.
  8. Who is left with that 60 hit tool? Would be neat to see as we get closer to our pick. Stovall and Zavala? They both seem to be the same players we just drafted.
  9. If he hits, we’ve got a guy that will probably piss off everyone in the division. You can’t put a price on that.
  10. I don’t think Zavier Warren has recorded an out since returning from injury.
  11. I want to go hard on HS bats for the first 2/3 picks just to sync them up with the wave of Venezuelans in Arizona. Have a super team of bonus babies smash it’s way through the minors. Half our top 20 prospects list would be 18 years old.
  12. When that DSL team combines with another draft of primarily HS players next year in Arizona, we may be looking at a really special wave of positional prospects. We can fill next years entire Arizona OF with high-ish quality international guys, and Melendes at catcher looks to be a nice little prospect as well.
  13. Sign me up for Hiura, Burnes, Lutz and a #20-#30 ranked player for Syndergaard or deGrom. Would sting but yes the Brewers need the TOR SP that bad. Adding Lutz to that is making it sting waaaaay more than it has to. Dude is mashing right now and will probably be our top prospect at some point. He’s probably the only real untouchable guy we have IMO just because his value is apparently precieved as a throw in to that deal.
  14. Haven’t seen any reports on what Eduardo Garcia got as a bonus. I assume around a mil as was with Fernandez and Jarabba? I was out of the loop on the changes to the international signings when they happened, but it seems like we are really benefitting from them, correct? Our strategy the last few years seems to be to pass on the higher end bonus guys and instead take about 3 who are sitting around the top 20 area with bonus money equivalent to a 2nd round pick. Really excited to see how guys like Carlos Rodriguez and Pablo Abreu pan out, as it seems like we haven’t had a decent international OF prospect since Nelson Cruz (?!).
