  1. Rodgers is the elephant in the room regarding next years cap #, no way they go forward with his 46 million cap hit, it was designed that way. I think I read the cap is expected to go up pretty rapidly again after next season as well so cap space may be moved around pretty freely around the NFL this offseason.
  2. I think that was pretty much a given barring an extension. It will probably be a tag and trade if Rodgers leaves but no way they let a player of that caliber leave for a comp pick so they can keep the Smiths and Lowry, etc. I do wonder though if the Bakh situation has them gun shy about an extension with Adams, the last 2 non Rodgers 3rd contract they gave out were Jordy and Bak, both who promptly blew out their knees.
  3. WFT somehow up 10-0 on Philly after last weeks debacle, that would be a big result for any hopes the Vikings still have. I get 2 AFC games early for some reason, not bad games but would rather watch the Bears to be honest.
  4. 8 CFP's now and at least one 3 or 4 seed has advanced to final in 5 of them, I don't see how going back to 2 makes things better. I said it a couple of days ago, more games means more chances of upsets and going to 8 really means going to 12 or 13 as championships of major conferences become playins. I get Alabama is a problem but maybe they only win 2 of 5 instead of the 3 of 5 or whatever it is now. I am not conceding that the Badgers can't win one either and I am pretty sure they have averaged more than one Rose/Orange/Cotton or whatever bowl every 10 years. More playoff teams please.
  5. Mercedes Lewis, Bojorquez and most others put on COVID list this week all activated yesterday. Keke and Amari Rodgers only players left.
  6. Looks like the night game will work out weather wise as afternoon winds are forecast to die down by kickoff. Both teams are not all that great in the trenches but have good RB's so I expect them to have success pounding the run in the cold. But with Cousins and Theilen out the Packer should be more free to stack the box than Minnesota, at least until the backup proves he can beat them downfield. We should win this going away, if we don't we probably have bigger problems that the bye won't fix anyway.
  7. I forgot about the stock sale but just read some chat with Murphy and he said they had sold 182,000 shares as of yesterday. Considering I think they sold 120K in the first couple of days and Christmas has passed it looks like they will fall well short of 300,000. Unless of course they win the Super Bowl. Still, raising 60 million was more than I would have guessed without a recent Super Bowl behind them.
  8. Lambeau is by far the most iconic NFL stadium, really it's the only one that matters, but I would put it a good notch below Fenway and Wrigley just because of the much longer history of the sport. Prior to like 1957 the NFL was still quite a bit below college football on the national radar as well, there are probably quite a few college stadiums that are older in addition to the Rose Bowl which I would also rank higher than Lambeau. No denying the NFL is king now but I just feel baseball is just a more iconic sport in this country if that makes sense. But with the Ice Bowl always brought up every year I can see why there is a argument for it through the eyes of the general public in 2022.
  9. More playoff games means more chances for upsets. Alabama loses sometimes, giving them a 3 game path instead of 2 can’t hurt. Glad to see the Harbaugh’s getting rolled.
  10. Spread just went from -7 to -13. Wow
  11. Me too, Cousins killed us with some late throws just before the rush got him last game. Plus losing the QB this late can’t be good for the confidence of a team that has to win. Get up a couple of scores early and we should coast but we haven’t seen that much recently.
  12. Yes, I didn’t know about the deadline thing earlier but since we are only sure there are 3 mores games this season I think it is getting a little late for these guys so the activation has to mean he is close? I was thinking maybe they will IR Bak now as we can’t keep too many guys on the 53 who can’t play.
  13. Henry Black, the punter, Keke, and Tyler Davis all added to COVID list
  14. I fear Cook more than any player in the NFL. A well established Packer killer now. We need a good start against these guys, can’t let them control the ball/clock and get TD’s.
  15. great news, I was starting to fear updates to this thread because of COVID. Hopefully he can go this week.
  16. Is that cause or effect? You're up solidly, you run the ball. You're behind late, you pass. At the time, the early 80’s, many teams were still run first and if it worked they kept doing it so I think getting to 40 carries probably happened more. I would guess the winning percentage is still high if not even higher now when you hit that number as like you say you run more when ahead now. So more cause back then and effect now?
  17. You know the NFL will plow through but this surge could explode during the playoffs. Getting that bye gets bigger and bigger for the Pack.
  18. Totinos isn't it and I have never been able to find the TV dinner pizza suggested so took a shot at the recipe below that claims to be from the government school cafeteria recipe. We stuck pretty much to the recipe, used 1 Lb ground beef but spiced it with garlic salt, italian seasoning, and fennel seed while browning. I used Walmarts Great Value pizza sauce, ending up using a bit more of that and mozzarella than the recipe suggested since I had so much meat and it seemed to need it. The result? The crust was at least 2x thicker than the pizza I had in my grade school cafeteria, it turned out more like a Rocky Rococco crust. The flavor and texture was right though so I think the recipe is correct just need to adjust the amount of batter next time I guess. It actually turned out pretty tasty even if not what I was after, I had too much meat but ground beef is the right call and it turned out more like a meat pie but without the grease that a similar amount of sausage or pepperoni would. The fennel adds a nice flavor but not sure if that is what they used in the cafeteria or is a flavor of another of my childhood favorites, Tombstone Sausage. https://www.plainchicken.com/school-cafeteria-pizza/
  19. You need to get early kill shots to get blowouts in today's NFL. If you get to the 4th with a 2 score lead you can almost guarantee the other team will score at least once, unless you have an elite D it's just hard to stop teams once they have 4 downs to work with and are desperate. We saw it yesterday in the Viking game, Rams go up 2 TD's with 10 minutes left yet like 3 minutes later they are facing 3rd and long with a 7 point lead. And yes maybe it's still post 2014 NFCC traumatic syndrome but it bothers me the Packers play so many close games and don't put teams away. It's a problem and I don't think it is just random luck, we don't just make a late 2 score lead interesting we often end up with the other team having the ball late with a chance to win. I don't know what it is, a combination of soft prevent defense and conservative play calling on O maybe but we get there again and again.
  20. I don’t want anything to do with them in the playoffs, especially should we stumble to #2 seed. It’s not ideal having them in an elimination game for them next week but eliminate them we must.
  21. It was all drama apparently as he is back in.
  22. Yep, Stafford is a loser.
  23. I don’t disagree with you but they weren’t calling that contact the whole game and Douglas was probably aware of that leading to the aggressive play that won it. That could payoff in the playoffs when refs are notorious for letting DBs get away with more. I think I heard on postgame that every pick we were in man coverage while Mayfield picked us apart in zone. Browns seemed like a bad matchup for us so after a morning to reflect just happy to get what could prove to be a big win. Plenty of stuff to correct but we faced similar late games to the next one in the last 2 seasons against the Vikes and Titans and dominated so maybe we bounce back next week and clinch.
  24. I don’t remember a downfield penalty on either team so definitely a playoff style let them play called game. No offensive holding calls I remember either. The last play at least started legal as it was within 5 yards but it looked like he eventually held him and there was also still contact after the throw, Mayfield may have been throwing into the contact to draw a flag.
  25. I remember a game where Ellis and Ivory both had 100 yards, another Packer mark that has probably rarely been done since. I think it was after that game that I read an article on how teams that run 40 times or more win like 90% of the time. 40 rushes! Times have changed..
