  1. I think with the loss of the Bak and the Bears front 7 we only get 27 today. The defense should be able to hold that but I have been let down too many times to assume it. I could see this coming down to a late FG, 2 weeks ago I viewed this as an easy win. Hopefully it's just playoff nerves, this does feel like a playoff game since a win essentially gives us one playoff win by skipping a round. As always wish it was on at noon...
  2. I would have thought had we clinched the bye last week we would have still played most of our key starters this week save chronically injured guys like King. But I can't think of any recent examples to know what the Packers would do for sure. Week 17 of 2011 we were locked in and Detroit was way out of it. I do remember the Bears giving us a tough game in 2010 when their seed was locked and the Vikings crushing us in Favre's first season as a starter when they had nothing to play for.
  3. The AFC picture is interesting, 5 teams competing for 4 spots. MIA,BALT,CLE, and TEN all get in with wins, only Indy needs help which is any of the other 4 to lose. Ravens, Titans, and Colts all play AFC bottom feeders which leaves Miami at Buffalo and Steelers at Browns as the likely pivotal games. If Steelers roll over I could definitely see that being a deciding factor in who gets in as Miami would get in with a Cleveland loss. The COVID thing does complicate it as I see the Browns are only 4 point favorites, still weird to me that the Steelers would do that.
  4. I may be missing something here but Pittsburgh and Cleveland play at noon in a game with playoff implications and the Steelers are resting many key players. If I was Indy or Miami or some other team hoping for a Cleveland loss I would be pissed.
  5. It takes the Packers from having likely the best offensive line in football to probably middle of the pack. It is very fortunate that the offensive line depth is in a much better place this year than it's been in previous seasons. While we're going to see a fall-off going to a line of Turner-Patrick-Linsley-Jenkins-Wagner or Jenkins-Patrick-Linsley-Turner-Wagner, it isn't as bad as previous years when suffering an offensive line injury. Also, Lafleur's offense is generally much more apologetic to offensive linemen than McCarthy's was. Yes, we have been pretty fortunate with injuries this season so can survive a major hit like this, hopefully not a bad tear with other ligaments damaged and he can get back early next season. I wonder what this means for plans to release Wagner/Turner to free up cap room though. Didn't they go with Turner at LT when Bak was out earlier this year? It also just occurred to me that the last 2(Jordy) non QB/K that we gave a large 3rd contract to almost immediately tore their ACL. oof
  6. I thought it was odd the line shifted to the Bears by a point this morning and then just a few minutes ago thought I should check the injury report. This really sucks, we can survive it I guess but it's a big hit to our SB hopes for sure.
  7. Packers are only 4 point favorites on Sunday, opened at -5.5. That surprises me, I expected about -7. Similar situation for Seattle who are -4 at SF.
  8. Not really. The Saints and Seahawks both winning could drop us all the way to #3. We should absolutely assume we need to beat the Bears next week. That's why I called it "back in", remember the last day of MLB season for Brewers?
  9. Big win, not so much in playoff seeding but it meant a lot to the Titans and we crushed them. Feeling just fine about Bears next week but we did give ourselves a back in plan for the bye which doesn't hurt.
  10. Regarding MVS Titans are taking away our deep game just like Carolina did but we are taking what they give us and then some so it hasn't mattered.
  11. Yeah we had a timeout too, I guess a long return could of killed us but still little risk of chucking it out there at that point.
  12. It's almost predictable when this team is really rolling and about to put a team a way it turns like that. We still win most of the time and raybe it is one of those things that happen to all teams but still really annying.
  13. I am going to write it off as we already had a missed XP and blocked FG but in normal times you kick the FG anyway there. And the taking a sack? Oof
  14. Could be it's not easy kicking tonight. Yes was just thinking maybe they didn't like Crosbys chances but it is the other direction.
  15. I guess the NFC east isn't playing for a division championship that doesn't affect anyone else because they all suck? That seems like the go to Sunday night week 17 game in recent years. They wouldn't flex Bears/Packers because other games affect their scenarios, correct?
  16. Don't really see how it's a miracle, our pass defense is top 10 & rush defense gives up 110 yards a game against a league average of 117, so the perception of just how bad it has been is overblown somewhat. We've also given up the 3rd/4th most yards per game in punt/kick returns & have the longest average time of possession per drive on offense in the NFL, which both also cut into how much yardage teams can rack up on our defense. Yes, they will likely get gouged on the ground today, but the Titans average 160 yards a game rushing so they gouge everyone. Yes, I meant miracle in that they are a top 10 defense statistically and that is definitely not the perception among most of us fans, including me. I knew they were middle of the pack and as you say have thought a lot of that is just the offense keeping them off the field. But was surprised to see them that high, I still don't trust them to get it done in the playoffs when we need them.
  17. It's been snowing for a few hours in La Crosse but I would be just fine playing football out there right now. Unless it is coming down so hard it piles up and affects footing I don't see Rodgers having much problem tonight and our running game is pretty good too. Winds supposed to be around 13mph. Should be a great game to see just where we are at right now, more of a playoff seeding contest but both teams I am sure want this one.
  18. Sounds like it probably will be snowing. Was just reading a Titans board and they sound just like us when talking about their D. Statistically they are worse than the Packers D which by some miracle is 8th in the league in yardage.
  19. Ha I almost posted about how us older guys are already done with their coffee by 9AM(central) before realizing you were in AK. I always loved the 10Am packers games whenever I am on the west coast although if the Packers aren't on local TV you have to get moving early to get a seat at the Packer bar. Still, yeah I love the British open because I can get up and watch it at 9AM.
  20. Well nice afternoon after the games didn't go our way early. Need Rams win next week and we clinch with win over Titans or just beat the Bears.
  21. I was thinking about that as I want Bears eliminated before our game but yeah they would hold NFC record tiebreaker and would clinch with win next week. Tampa could lose out and complicate it though.
  22. Just watching on gamecast but Jets are 1st and 10 at 2 minute warning and Rams are out of TO's. If that is correct WOW
  23. Helping out the Packers immensely. The Jets will still blow this lead though. I mean if what the Rams do matters to us then things went horribly awry for us our last two games. If we beat the Titans but lose to the Bears it matters. Saints just took the lead so maybe we need to just focus on winning out anyway.
