  1. Well they got it done, much needed win today. 18 wins and they are in, with 4 home games and @Nebby still on the schedule that should be pretty obtainable but I am sure they will make us sweat some before it's over. That's just the sort of season this has been.
  2. The Packers don't ever give that 3rd contract to an OL and it seems like it always ends up being the right decision. I think they keep Linsley and let Bulaga leave, like you say they do have options and should probably draft a tackle as well. "Bryan Bulaga, Iowa" cracks me up every time.
  3. Just saw this article in SI. Don't get me wrong, I love pork and eat plenty of it, but on the mammal intelligence scale I always thought pigs were a lot closer to dogs than cattle or deer. Shooting them with assault rifles from helicopters and leaving their corpses to rot is fun? That's just weird, I was raised to eat what I hunt. What a mess, I guess if it was solving the problem it would be different but it sounds like it just makes it worse. One of those southern culture things I just don't get I guess. I know there were some pigs on a game farm around Soldiers Grove that escaped and became a problem a few years back, I wonder if this is going to become a problem in Wisconsin as well. https://www.si.com/sports-illustrated/2020/01/30/feral-pigs-problem-texas-helicopters?utm_source=pocket-newtab
  4. I don't know how King can say with a straight face that what the coach said is the reason for leaving, because King said the issues go back several years and this event happened several months ago. Unless King has a crystal ball that can see several years into the future, he is opportunistically using it to get a waiver. It happened on Jan 3rd so that is line with any claim that it is part of why he left the program. I agree it's not very hard to come to the conclusion that Kobe or whoever has influence on him may have saw it as an opportunity, the waiver is huge as it could open up paths to even blue bloods who always lose one and done's and could get 2 years of King which is better than a lot of one year grad transfers they may fill out their rosters with.
  5. Given King's "it made me uncomfortable" quote above I would be shocked if this wasn't used to get his waiver and almost as surprised if the disclosure of the assistants use of the racial epithet wasn't directly linked to the waiver. Dammit, you just knew this was going to blow up into something worse for the program before it was done.
  6. Totally. And SF blew a Super Bowl they probably should have won. Sweet!
  7. Trice Ford Pritzl Reuvers Davison Potter Anderson Hedstrom Wahl I think it's nine but yeah only 8 yesterday, I guess Hedstrom could be hurt and I just wouldn't know it. The good news is they will be at 13(assuming Anderson is now on schollie the rest of his career) next season and only lose Pritzl.
  8. Terrible news. 41 years old.
  9. That's good to hear, especially with Burnes who could really be a big boost to our chances if he gets back to being that guy we expected last season. Didn't he have a couple of good appearances late last year after they sent him to Arizona to correct some stuff?
  10. Just looking for some sports to watch and realized Tiger Woods is 4 back with a shot at win #83, a lot of players ahead of him though but Rory and Rahm off to tough starts today. Golf is usually something I start watching on Sundays after the NFL is done, it sort of replaced NASCAR for me about 10 years ago. Woods in contention always makes it interesting.
  11. Maybe, but if he does have surgery I would expect he could miss a good portion of it which is nearly as bad with a young player. If you are saying we just don't have any idea with what we know right now I agree.
  12. So if he has surgery and misses the season we lose a year of service time? I am guessing yes since it looks like he finished his season with the Padres last year. I agree this doesn't sound good if they are bringing him back for eval. Oof.
  13. Lowry had some good games down the stretch, that's sort of what you get with average DL's, spurts of good play and other stretches where you wonder if they were even in the game. Adams was sure a disappointment after the good finish in 18 and Pettine hyping him in the offseason. But he was a boom or bust type pick and I think his effort was always the question. Maybe we can get a quality year out of him now that he is playing for another contract.
  14. That is pretty crazy, now that the Packers are done I am going to try to take in more of their games on TV. I struggle watching the NBA, the scoring is too fast paced and I usually get bored and only watch in 5 minute spurts before flipping the channel. The problem is to appreciate the league you really do need to watch the whole game, last time I did it was back in the Allen/Cassel/Big Dog eastern finals year and it was pretty fun. The Miami Heat super team really turned me off, I lived in South Florida at the time and was sort of annoyed watching the fans celebrate that title. I think maybe soccer is like that, the superstars all gravitate to a few major market teams in western Europe, it seems like a similar international sport.
  15. I think the thing that bugs me the most is that somehow through 18 games they never even had a good performance this season. They had a lot of uglies and a lot of great halves, but never a great, complete game. They had things to clean up all year and despite the record most of it just never really got cleaned up. @Minn and SEA were pretty good by any measure. Sloppy start in Minny but they dominated a good team, on the road, with a lot on the line. Last week was their best game of the year. The scores were never impressive because their offense was just not explosive at all. Not at all. If anything bugged me it's that their offense never seemed to improve one iota. It was the same sloppy product from Week 1 on. Well last week the defense gave up three straight TD's in the second half, in retrospect that should have been a red flag for this weeks outlook.
  16. It was a fun week of anticipation and that win last week sure felt good. Better to get here than miss the payoffs I guess but this sucks.
  17. Yeah but sort of like the missed FG and Ripkowksi fumble in the Atlanta blowout in the end it's pretty hard to argue it would have made a difference, we got stomped.
  18. They are soft, I think it is an organizational thing more than scheme, we pamper our players too much or something.
  19. Spoiler alert if you're behind on Hulu, we did not get a 3 and out. Yeah that would be me
  20. Still enough time if the D can get a couple of 3 and outs. It's something..
  21. It doesn't help that throw a lot of them to a guy like Allison who has the slowest first step in the league
  22. They still take too many deep drops and Rodgers holds the ball too long, the offense never really got it going this year and was never going to survive a defensive meltdown like this. From that first TD on 3rd and long you could feel it, we were cooked.
  23. Mid season the defense looked like it's usual awful self. The weak schedule down the stretch probably is why so many of us thought things were different coming into tonight. They won't fire him, this organization is always a year too late to recognize an problem. I still don't like the 3-4, wish they would scrap it.
  24. We are like a different team on the west coast. I didn't see this coming yet at the same time it is not surprising at all.
