  1. Don’t need Spangenberg to take off, teams overdue to get hot. Even without Woody, this rotation is very very solid. Things are happening down below that’s getting me excited, even more than I already was, for the September bullpen. Can’t wait, repeat of last year imminent. That’s called puberty. It doesn’t necessarily coincide with the brewers going on a run I see what your saying, but context is the name of this game.

  7. Like the roster moves, sigh of relief Chacín gone, was concerned he’d throw another pitch for this team. Spangenberg should upgrade the hitting at SS, give the team a boost with the bat. Good job Stearns. This team getting ready to take off.

  10. A healthy Chacin = Gas can/Lighter fluid, could/should have been DFA’d by the all star game. Spangenberg is a better hitter than Arcia, but probably a worse defender, but not sure about that, since I’ve never seen him play short, when with the Padres he looked good at second, the games I remember.

  13. He couldn’t get his breaking stuff over at all the first go round, so very few batters even swung, and it was frustrating to watch, because his stuff is quite devastating, and if he has control of it, he will get lots of Ks, like he is down below right now. 10+ innings > 20+ Ks.

  16. Was there command? He’s normally wild in the zone. He threw 38 pitches, only 24 strikes. And he allowed 2 hits before striking out the side. You have his line wrong. Ugh, missed the 2 hits he gave up, silly me. Not as impressive as I thought.

  19. Exactly, we’ll said. Then in a week add Nelson Peralta Suter Black, And suddenly we massive depth. Regarding Jackson, with that nasty slider, huge weapon to have vs right handed batters.

  22. We all know this team’s built for September, but, I’m liking what I’m seeing now, with the pitching: Rotation is solid, giving this offense and bullpen a chance just about every game to do its job. Offense isn’t as bad with RISP as it’s been virtually all year, and will regress towards the mean, biding well this last 5 weeks. Bullpen is showing signs of the shut down pen this team will have in September. When Nelson Suter Peralta Black are back, joining Hader Pomeranz Claudio Williams Guerra Jackson Jeffress Albers and Lyles for the last 2 weeks > Best pen in the NL, and if this offense can hit like some thought going into the year > this team could do what last year’s team did > 26-10 and still win 90.
