  1. No they said abdominal discomfort. That could be pretty serious, if I’m the brewers I’m taking him to the hospital to get ct scanned.
  2. Nevermind just read he left after landing awkwardly on a pitch. I’m pretty sure it’s related to the collision at first base with Avila, just heard abdominal discomfort. It was a massive collision, downplayed by the Dback announcers I’m listening to.
  3. No it doesn't. Your right it really doesn’t, but it sure would help us win the central, and help us in the playoffs.
  4. Hoping against hope Woody doesn’t miss too much time, but now puts The onus on Stearns at the deadline to add a Bauer, Greinke, Ray, Stroman type starter.
  5. What goes around come’s around, we have tons of bad calls for us coming our way these last 2+ mo., bloop hits too, even a couple of shocking overturned calls.
  6. AAA#’s Salad > .288 .375 Spang > .317 .385 Freitas > .361 .442 Grisham > .353 .426 Didn’t show home runs and ops because of the juiced ball. Huge difference statistically between the 2 sets of players. Grisham and Freitas also don’t K and walk a lot. Freitas had about as many ab’s last year in his mlb trial with Seattle when he hit .221 as Pina has this year hitting under .200. And this is Freitas’s second AAA year in a row raking. He’s obviously found his hitting stroke, aka Max Muncy, and I’m assuming will be our starting catcher next year. Good job unearthing this guy by our GM. Freitas is the definition of proving my point. Could have have found something and be a upper end offensive MLB catcher? I suppose it's possible, but sure as heck isn't likely. I would assume that if Grandal isn't resigned, both Pina and Nottingham would remain ahead of Freitas on the depth chart, just as they are now. How does Freitas prove your point? His AAA stats the last 2 years, PCL inflated notwithstanding, are way way way higher than virtually every player in the league and on par with Hiura Grisham and a couple other stud prospects. There’s a reason Stearns traded for him. I believe it was to see if he could duplicate his offensive success that he had last year in AAA, and he has. But let’s just continue to lump all AAAA players together, every one of em, and ignore stats that actually separate Freitas from the AAAA pack. Forget Max Muncy, remember Garrett Cooper?

  8. How bout this for a truly all in: Trade for Zack Greinke & Robbie Ray Greinke & Ray & 10 mil. > Turang & Ray & Supak & Lemons Trade for Edwin Diaz Diaz > Lutz & Ashby & D Williams Trade for Ian Kennedy & Jake Diekman Ian Kennedy & Jake Diekman & 12 mil. > P Henry & T Williams Trade Albers > lottery Trade Guerra > lottery Trade Anderson > good prospect Chacín > DFA Option Claudio Rotation: Greinke Woodruff Ray Davies Gio Bullpen: Peralta Houser Nelson Diekman Jeffress Kennedy Hader Diaz This is a championship pitching staff that we’d have intact thru next year. $ for Greinke & Kennedy i’d use towards next year’s payroll. This adds ~ 21 million to this year’s payroll > 148 million. These deals add 61 million, minus the 22 received totaling 39 mil. Extra to the payroll for next year, but with no Moose and Grandal that saves ~ 29 mil., so net gain of 10 million. Which happens to be the gain every team in mlb gets for the new national Fox deal. Of course with Arby raises, Yelich raise, slight Cain raise, that will raise the payroll, but that can be offset some by releasing Nelson. With a 155 million payroll INCLUDING the Fox gain, we could have 10-20 million to spend this offseason and next deadline. 2020 Rotation: Greinke Woodruff Ray Davies Burnes Bullpen: Houser Peralta Diekman Wahl/Jeffress Kennedy Hader Knebel Diaz Lineup: Grisham-LF Yelich-RF Hiura-2B Shaw-3B Aguilar/Thames-1B Freitas-C Arcia-SS Woodruff-P Cain-CF Bench: Braun Dubon Thames/Aguilar Pina Then after next year’s World Series win, Trade Yelich Hader Woodruff Diaz for 15 top prospects. Rebuild/reload in 1-2 years, saving 50-100 million in payroll.
  9. It has to be a balance with making these decision. Brew Crew 92: just imagine if you were running the show. Just think of how many players you would have burned through already as you make your way down our minor leagues. You have a new flavor every day. It just doesn’t work that way. You can’t just burn people off the 40-man roster all the time with no consequences. There is a reason that no GM operates this way and it comes down to depth and money. It’s been the wrong depth all year. Depth isn’t depth if it’s bad depth.
  10. Not encouraged by what CC said regarding Chacín. Instead of saying, we’ll have to have a talk about Chacín staying in the rotation, he said he just needs to pitch better. What’s the definition of insanity? Why not put Supek in the rotation? He certainly will pitch better than the gas can Chacín. Why not call up D Williams?. he’s hardly given up a baserunner all month. The scouts think he’s ready. Patience is a virtue. He who hesitates loses. I think it’s been the latter all year with this team. Frustrating.
  11. Stearns > D+ CC, March/April > A CC, since then > F
  12. Some new blood is needed for this pitching staff, inside and outside.
  13. What the heck? Their only 2-3 games from being in first, so, a sick tear and we’d run away with it. 5 games back of the Cubbies last Sept 18th!
  14. If they do that, they are obviously waving the white flag on the season. That would be pathetic. Just go get an arm and be done with it. Problem solved. No it wouldn’t. All Supek has done his entire minor league career is limit runs. He’s not upper 90s thrower, he’s a real pitcher, command is his calling card. I’m sure Stearns is trying to land a starter, but he’s not gonna massively overpay for one. He will get a pen arm or maybe even two, and we already have a better rotation with Woodruff than last year’s playoff rotation, and with a stronger pen I like our chances.
  15. Agree, but this performance tonight is the 2019 Chacín. It needs to be his last start as a brewer. I just hope they don’t put him in the pen, even in the mop up role. DFA.
  16. Chacín’s been bad all year, teams 7 under in his starts, he needs to go away, I don’t even want him in the mop up role in the pen. Trade/DFA. Peralta will do better. I want Peralta no where near the rotation...that's not going to solve the issue...they NEED to go get a big arm. Period. 2 starts before we’d get that starter at the deadline, Peralta can make those starts in place of Chacín.
