Yeah, I didn't like it when A-Rod got his based on these results and in this manner, and so I can't claim to be OK with this, either. THAT SAID... I try to avoid schaedenfraude because we all know how quickly it can turn around, but I had to see what the NSBB fellas had to say, and some of the posts were really specious: "Not particularly surprising. Not even really disappointing. Kind of just inevitable, really. Like when your 99 year old great aunt you haven't seen in 10 years dies. You're kind of vaguely sad, but aren't entirely sure who the flowers should be sent to." Give me a break! Cubsdom WORSHIPPED this guy--I know there's no penance they as a fanbase can or should do, but to pretend it's no big deal is ridiculous. I almost respect the deluded outright-apologists there more.

Haha, replace Hardy with Prince and I had a pretty decent night as well--not as good as yours though Anyway, what an uplifting win after that crummy homestand. -

Here's how nice the weather's been and how much fun I've had and how much good red wine and beer and whiskey I've drank the last couple weeks (including this afternoon/evening): this Brewers' swoon hasn't really bothered me in the slightest.

Thanks. That 7th inning at the plate looked particularly lifeless, and obviously, Manny's second was horrendous.

It could be worse than Stockton, Joe Buck and company are really shilling Tim McCarver's album of sung covers of classics on the Yankees-Mets game today. Seriously.

I've only been following online today, so those who can watch: is this the ugliest performance of the season? Because it looks terrible on paper (or pixels, as it were). Is there even any effort today?!?

He was a career 4.31 pitcher before this year; not world-beating, and not good enough for a #2 in my opinion, but a young guy with some promise, and certainly not as bad as this. Since he's going backwards, something's obviously wrong. Maybe I'm crazy, but I think it can still be corrected--just not in Milwaukee right now.

For a while? I think you just saw the last of Manny Parra in a Brewer uniform. If he does start putting up numbers against AAA hitters, they'll unload him on another unsuspecting team.Why on Earth would they sell low on a 26 year old who had 10 wins last year that they control for the next few years based on a string of rotten starts? If they can somehow get a great haul for him, great, but I don't think he's scrap heap yet.

Wow, between Stockton and Meltdown Manny, this is a good one to miss I guess. I've got a bunch of buddies there today for a bachelor party (from Chicago and Wisconsin, so it's a mixed crowd)--at the least the game won't impinge on the Brewer-fan contingent's fun too much Maybe I'm drinking the Kool-Aid (well, definitely drinking it), but I think if we can keep it to 6 runs this inning, we might still have a chance...

I just HATE HATE HATE Saturday afternoon games like this. Brewers-White Sox will never be picked as the national game out here (or much of anywhere else), especially if the Yankees are involved as another choice.

Well, who didn't think this was going to happen when they coughed up that opportunity. I thought they might have a shot in the 8th and 9th if the pen locked it down in the late innings as they've done until recently, but we're about to get swept at home by a NL West team with a losing record.

My grandpa was a bench coach of Scooter Gennett's at Sarasota High...I'd be surprised if the Brewers were able to sign him as well, he seemed gung ho to get to FSU. -

Yeah, that stood out for me--the Braves had the northern part of the state and the panhandle on lockdown even in the late 90s when the Rays had arrived when I last lived in FLA...don't know about now, but it would follow they'd be more into the Rays even than the Marlins I'm also a little suspicious of the size of that Nationals' territory.
