Wasn't a bad interview...I liked how he said unprompted that strong defense was gonna have to be a key to this team getting back to the playoffs. -

The Pirates announcers sound absolutely dejected, like there is now no hope whatsoever the Pirates can score 5 runs with 6 outs. Nice play by Nyjer Morgan there...that would've extended the lead to 6 otherwise.

That play at the plate had me nervous for a JJ injury as it was developing--I had flashes back to JJ ramming into Sal Fasano a couple years back.

Well, this is a nice little inning to come home to. The Pirates announcers aren't happy the way their pen walked Soup tonight and Hart last night when the Brewers were trying to give them an out to move our runners.

To be fair, from Gameday it looked like he just missed on three of four of those balls to Sanchez.

Impressive the way he came back from those five straight balls to Sanchez and McLouth to get the heart of their order there....I'd sniffed disaster all over that inning when McLouth came to bat.

I love it when JJ brings Corey home (they're both on my fantasy team!) It's really remarkable--Suppan has given up extra base hits, all for runs (total of seven), in the first inning of five of his six games this year. Let's hope we get the Soup who settles down and not the one who walks in three runs today.

Uff da, I need to turn in my Brewers' Fan card! I only knew he was born in Mexico and assumed he grew up there--I also live out of market and Extra Innings never gives the pre- or post-game shows, so I've never actually heard the guy speak. Well, I pulled out my media guide and yes sir--he graduated from Trimble Tech in Texas. I apologize, Yo! (Lo Siento, if you prefer!)

I mean, I know that the Brewers have benefitted from some calls this season (Yo's strike zone Wednesday, etc), but that was completely egregious. TWR is right--you don't even need replay for that, get the umps together and show them the divot. I thought they could overturn stuff after discussion, but I'm probably wrong.

Yeah, between the uniforms they were wearing tonight, and the empty stadium, and the fact that they had to bring in Julian Tavarez in the 9th inning of a tie game (and, of course, the not unexpected result), I feel pretty bad for the 2009 Washington Nationals.

Yeah, the KNBR people keep replaying the audio, and over the Oakland broadcast feed, you can hear some female Rangers' fan saying "NOOOOOOO!!!!!" Looking forward to seeing it. Makes me feel better about Prince getting robbed by Johnson--at least the Crew still got some runs from that!

Did you guys use the cases as furniture as well? I sat next to a couple Ripon football players in the bleachers at a Brewers-Cubs game at County in '99...funny guys, one of them was going back-and-forth with a bunch of Cubs fans for a while. Pretty sure I drank a few Hubers that afternoon. Pretty sure they did, too.

This was my beer of choice at Beloit College back when you could still get a case of returnable bottles for just over $10, and I drank a lot of it at Brewers' games as well. And well, everywhere. Heck, I even had a keg of it at my wedding reception for old time's sake. Ever since they dressed the packaging up and raised the price (not to mention selling the brewery to a Canadian guy!), it just doesn't taste as good to me, imagine that!

These look great, I'm definitely gonna pick one up. I especially like the look of the Hebrewers one, but to be honest, as a gentile I think I'd feel kinda strange and sorta patronizing wearing something regarding Braun's religion...maybe I'm just overly sensitive though

Pretty sure Ty Taubenheim pitched for them that year too--I think he played for the Blue Jays for a while after the Overbay trade. He's in the CC Sabathia Brewers' family tree! A cousin to Bushie! Must've been something in the Domenico's that season! I caught a few games that year there.

Heh, he'll be stuffing his pockets with free candy bars before he heads back to Nashville. Well, hopefully he has a good uneventful stay up in Milwaukee!

Grow up. You got rooked by one of the best young pitchers in the game. Deal with it. To be fair, a lot of folks here were commenting on how big the zone seemed for Yo at times, and looking at the highlights there, a few of the ring-ups (esp. for LaRoche and Vazquez) were a little questionable. Whatever though--Yo was on.
