  1. Lauer made the comments to Adam McCalvy. I think a link to the actual article (not some rando on Twitter) is in order. https://www.mlb.com/news/brewers-discuss-clubhouse-vibe-ahead-of-crucial-stretch
  2. I'm sure many other players feel the same way as Lauer.
  3. I'm not willing to say they're done. But I certainly wouldn't bet my own money on them making the playoffs.
  4. Will you repost that when Rogers pitches like trash? 7.94 ERA, 5.2 IP, 5 ER, 1.412 WHIP (You can argue most of the damage came in one game but I wouldn't be popping champagne corks over Rogers just yet)
  5. Padres were 12 games out of 1st in the NL West at the deadline. They are now 18 games behind the Dodgers (who chose not to empty their farm system for Soto).
  6. That also is when I stopped listening to Rome. I was really ticked off when they replaced him with Bill Michaels, of whom I've never been a fan. Who can forget Rome's favorite charity--Cockfighters Across America Foundation? I appreciate that Jim wanted to give back to the kids, even if Tony in Cleveland did not approve.
  7. So Jim Rome is back on the air in Milwaukee. I haven't listened to him in ages. I probably won't listen again but I'll remember Toby in Houston and Carl in Rosemead for the rest of my life.
  8. It's good to see Tim Allen land on his feet so soon.
  9. LA is on another planet right now compared to the Brewers. +251 run differential compared to the Brewers at +31. I felt like 2018 was an even fight. 2022--nope.
  10. I agree that Andrew Friedman is the best President/GM in sports but rolling into 2022 with Craig Kimbrel as his closer was really, really dumb. Even dumber was leaving him there.
  11. There's no way the Dodgers make the World Series if they stick with Craig Kimbrel as their closer. He takes the mound with a gas can and match in every game.
  12. I don't wish for anyone to be unemployed but I will not miss the locals on 1250. I found all of them to amateurish--although I still liked Tim Allen for his Brewers passion. He also seemed like a guy I'd enjoy having a beer with. It always annoyed me that none of those guys had any concept of baseball metrics beyond batting average, home runs, and RBI's. I'm not asking for crazy SABR analysis, but at least mention OBP and OPS when discussing how good or bad a player is hitting. Even better, give me OPS+, wOBA, wRC+, and/or WAR.
  13. I don't trust 538 because they rely on onions too much. Onions give me an upset stomach unless they're cooked.
  14. If that's true, David Stearns is a complete idiot for extending him. I don't know if it's true so I will reserve judgment. I do know this though--you cannot give a lazy player a huge/long contract and expect things to turn out well.
  15. "It is not too early to give up on this season" I guess we should give up now, then.
  16. Joey Gallo is the type of player the Dodgers can toss away a prospect for. They have plenty more where that one came from. The Brewers do not. Stearns was wise to let Gallo get away. Now about Trevor Rosenthal...
  17. Nice thread title!
  18. Instead he went with the time tested "I took a something for some innocent reason and unbeknownst to me it contained (insert banned substance here)." Just once I'd like to see one of these juicers admit they took a banned substance to get a competitive advantage on the chumps who are clean.
  19. I think he just sunk his Hall of Fame opportunities. What a tool. What a team. Tatis is a juicer. Machado is the biggest DB in baseball and Soto is a disrespectful crotch grabber.
  20. Cheater! Truly shameful.
  21. Well they haven't done it in the first 10 days with their new lineup. And they are 16 games out of first place in their division. The Dodgers, who did almost nothing at the deadline, have a 10 game winning streak. If the Brewers were to do that we'd get free burgers at George Webb.
  22. Well Nashville has a larger media market than Milwaukee... I wonder if any other MLB teams have a minor league team with a larger media market.
  23. Manny Machado is a next level DB. Good luck to the Padres making all these egos work together. Conflict helped sabotage their 2021 season.
  24. It's massively different because it's part of one of the most important joints in an athlete's body. Fractures in a joint can cause arthritis that can become debilitating. I would know. I stubbed my toe at a swimming pool (it was dark and I did not see a step and swung my foot right into it) and the joint has become arthritic and I've had surgery to remove bone spurs in the joint. I was a marathoner and now the idea of running around the block is daunting.
