  1. Torts walks into a Costco and asks if they can remove the electronics and home goods sections because he's just there to buy food.
  2. If only they started those threads with the word "Article" you could skip right past them and your nightmare would be over...
  3. I've lost confidence in the Brewers "leadership." At this point I'd like to see Counsell and Stearns move on. They had a decent run but I have no confidence they can deliver a championship.
  4. So you think Yelich would rather play in Milwaukee than New York if he had the choice? ?
  5. Alderson could have had all the involvement on the baseball ops side he wanted. He didn't want it given his age and health (recent bout with cancer). If Stearns went to NY he absolutely could be made the top dog on the baseball side. That said, the Mets are probably pretty happy with Eppler and no longer so impressed with Stearns given the deadline debacle and Yelich's albatross contract.
  6. Was a similar thread started for Chris Carter? Who hit 41 bombs in 2016? And was out of the league a year later. I'm sick of these hit bombs and nothing else wastes of space like Tellez, Vogelpig, and Carter.
  7. You are correct. From December 2, 2021 until the lockout ended the Brewers were not allowed to talk to Burnes or his rep. Basically the entire offseason. I think this story is a non-story.
  8. Sorry Corbin. Your name isn't Jeff Suppan, Matt Garza, or Kyle Lohse. No contract for you!
  9. I totally get that but comparing them to the Dodgers shows how little their trades have helped. And it's an interesting comparison given that the Dodgers did almost nothing at the deadline and have gained 8 games. The Padres could sneak into the playoffs and win the WS so it is by no means a disaster at this point. But it's not looking good 1.5 months post deadline..
  10. Padres now 20 games behind the Dodgers. They've lost 8 games to the Dodgers since they emptied their farm system at the trade deadline.
  11. What's the record for the most amount of position players pitching for a team in one game?
  12. Hmmmm. I wonder what could have caused them to question him as a leader of the team?
  13. I like the way you think!
  14. Seriously? Just ignore it if it bothers you. Of course I could have ignored your post but I didn't!
  15. Finally someone here has the fighting spirit!
  16. You should let MLB.com know that. But it doesn't matter. The Brewers are right in this. I'm sick of the Negative Nellies around here.
  17. If the Padres lose tonight the Brewers are only 2 games out of the wildcard. I'm not willing to give up the ship. Burnes-Woodruff-Peralta can give the Brewers a shot at the title.
  18. If there was an exceptional circumstance he wouldn't have started the season to begin with. Or he would have explained it when he opted out after 5 games. Like Buster Posey did, who adopted twins that were born two months premature just before the season was to restart. And David Price felt so bad about opting out that he told the Dodgers not give him a World Series ring. Andrew Friedman insisted that he get one anyway and Price auctioned it off for charity because he didn't think he deserved it. I respect that. Also, "a lot" of major leaguers did not opt out. The total list was 25 out of over 1,000 players. Hardly "a lot." It totally boggles my mind that people on this board don't understand that team leaders don't quit during the season.* *without a really good ****** reason
  19. So what other Brewers opted out? None. I'm not saying he didn't have the right to opt out. He did. And thankfully the Brewers didn't have to pay him. I'm saying he surrendered his leadership card when he quit the team. And then to stink up the joint over the next 2 seasons and rip the Brewers for not respecting him and his leadership? Beyond the pale.
  20. What was the special circumstance he was dealing with that all of his other teammates were not? And if there was a special circumstance why did he play 5 games before quitting?
  21. What a chump. He forfeited his leadership card when he quit on the team in 2020.
  22. A mere 2.5 games out of the playoffs. This team is still very much in the Hunt for October. Burnes-Woodruff-Peralta and anything can happen.
  23. Lighten up, Francis.
