    Everyone's always picking on Rob Deer. It actually would be frightening to think about how many Ks he would have had in today's game. I'll just say Hoskins has been like Chris Carter just to shake things up.

    All we need is another couple of starting pitchers, three or four relievers and about a half dozen new hitters or for them to return to early-season form. Please make this trade deadline pass quietly.

    Pitching to contact is a completely foreign concept to Freddy. Love to know the number of non-competitive pitches he throws and where he ranks in that regard.

    I'd trade Wiemer and worse. But you say that won't bring anybody back to help. I'd say that's the point. If a guy has multiple years of control that could be a different story.

    Freddy looked good against the Angels and Marlins. Not too hard to do that. The other 10 starts of his last 12 have pretty much been mediocre or worse,
