  1. That's now 0 runs, 12 hits and 35 Ks in 32.1 IP against Cubs starters. How can that even happen?
  2. It is actually 0 runs in 31.1 IP thus far.
  3. Agreed, kind of late to the game tonight and didn't even realize the situation. Perkins can go bye bye anytime.
  4. Sure could use Mitchell back, hopefully for longer than a couple of weeks at a time.
  5. I mean I'm glad Freddy's on our team. He's a steal for what they are paying him. But you are either an ace or you're not. The best starter on a team doesn't make one an ace and I just hate hearing him being called one. Can't even sniff going 6 innings per start in any season pretty much removes you from the conversation in my mind.
  6. Freddy is not and never will be an ace.
  7. Hope your right. I do think he's at least capable of hitting .250-.275 but if it comes with a complete lack of power, he can't be viewed as a regular. He can bulk up some but he's listed at 185 which if accurate isn't too slight on a guy 5'8" so not sure how much he can add realistically.
  8. Thanks, so he did opt out then. I think I'd tend to agree with him but if no one is calling, you have to go that route.
  9. I understand that but somebody should have been looking to sign him for 2020. Maybe he opted out that year but still there should have been interest. All-star in 2018 to out of the game in 2020 just doesn't typically happen.
  10. Since Scooter Gennett's name has been brought up tonight, whatever happened to him? He had a very nice career, especially after leaving us. I know he got hurt and missed a lot of time to start the 2019 season which ended up basically being a lost season. He never signed as a free agent and was out of baseball at 29.
  11. So hard to get charged with an error these days.
  12. Not sure he'll be better than Scooter, who was also bigger than Frelick. For what it's worth (nothing), Brewers players 5'8" or smaller have a career .660 OPS with the Brewers and Sal is at .659. He's pretty similar to Mike Tiny Felder right now which isn't a real good thing. Maybe he can do something in this upcoming AB.
  13. And if he goes 5 for 10, his slugging would probably be .314 which is a problem. As I said earlier, I just think his ceiling is really low and 4th or 5th OFer seems about right.
  14. Turang is four inches taller which helps.
  15. It would be nice if one of our guys hit the ground running for more than just a handful of games to start their career and just remain good. Braun-like might be too much to ask for but give us something. With regards to Frelick, I figured when the season started his floor was fairly high but the ceiling pretty low. I think the floor is down some but the ceiling is really pretty low in my mind due to the complete lack of power. I don't see that coming around and no longer think he's something to build around.
  16. It was so fast I got up to let the dogs outside and missed the entire inning.
  17. Certainly hope it's better than Ashby's, or Small's, And Hall's for that matter.
  18. I actually think it was intentional. Had great control all night long and then didn't come close to throwing him a strike and then drilled him on ball four. He didn't argue with the ejection at all either which leads me to believe he meant to hit him.
  19. The early season highs were just too high so they needed exceptional lows to get us back to our normal lousy offense.
  20. I don't pretend to know the rules, but it seems to me that call makes sense. Sort of like the runner losing contact with second base and a double play is called even though there was no way they would have been able to turn the DP. I could easily see this being called catchers interference regardless of what happened to the ball.
  21. I will agree it's not close but Gray seems to be getting better and better. I don't necessarily see him falling off too badly in just two years so I think he's more likely to be a good value than not.
  22. He just can't get that fastball past anyone and can't locate well enough overall. Just isn't much to like about him thus far. And now he can't even figure out when to field a bunt or not.
