  1. Suter really hasn't been that bad this year. Had a 3.90 FIP coming into tonight which is basically the same as last year and the same as the team this year.
  2. Funky swing that reminds scouts of CC. Yeah (and not in a good sense).
  3. Too bad he isn't Doyle and we could flip him for Smoltz.
  4. I would definitely be a seller myself, not that we have all that much that teams would want. I'd have traded Hader in the off-season to try to improve the moribund offense. Certainly would now. I would also consider trading Woodruff too. Either now or the offseason.
  5. Are they even keeping fans in the seats though? We have the 5th largest drop in attendance from 2019 to 2022 (as of June 30 both years). The top two are Oakland and Washington which make complete sense. Just not sure why a first place team, such as it is (and they were playing better two+ weeks ago), should show such a drop-off. Could spell additional problems for the franchise down the line.
  6. Think it's time to DFA Alexander. League has more than figured him out at this point.
  7. Trying to show he still has a pulse after last night's debacle.
  8. Boy am I so done with Wong. Wong is so Wrong.
  9. Wong swings like it's his last swing of his life for strike one and then takes a called third strike. Fantastic AB.
  10. Well, CC didn't sign him. He's been a train wreck since 2015 yet he managed to last 3 years in Colorado, then Minnesota, now here. Just why?
  11. I'm truly amazed Chi Chi still keeps getting chances. How bad does he have to pitch to get himself out of the league?
  12. Orioles might be the favorite if they were playing in our division and not the AL East.
  13. Does BA really believe that Hiura crushed lefties as a rookie? Something about a .673 OPS versus lefties and 1.021 versus righties would say otherwise.
  14. It's helpful to remember that Hiura never played the infield in college, only OF and DH.
  15. Does BA have to keep calling Davis an exciting YOUNG outfielder? I'd swear he isn't 5'8" either.
  16. Just need another 40-50 games against the Pirates and Reds and we'll be fine.
  17. Before signing off, to all I've offended from questioning the greatness to come of Ethan Small, I will go purchase my Ethan Small jersey today, I will make sure I'm first in line for the inevitable Ethan Small bobblehead day, and will make sure if I ever have son, I will name him Ethan Robert, And I do hope I'm way off in my initial analysis.
  18. I'm not wrong, I quoted his year two when he was 23 and still two years younger than Small is now. I don't see Small adding much velo and his control has been awful the past two years and will have to improve significantly and at 25+ years old, I'm just not so sure that it's going to happen.
  19. Freddy was averaging 93-94 when he was 23 Small is much closer to 90-91 and is 25 already. Freddy still doesn't have good control but Small wasn't just throwing balls he was throwing BALLS. I'll stick with my opinion. At least I'm not expecting anything to write home about for his career and wouldn't be upset if he's moved in a trade.
  20. I think that's already been the case for a number of years.
  21. I think Freddy threw much harder and had much better control, not good but still not like Small. Small is all over the place. Personally, I've already seen enough.
  22. I just don't see how Small can survive long-term in the majors with his combination of no velocity and no command.
