  1. Much more patient with 11 BBs and only 7 Ks this month after being 11/49 before July.
  2. Glad Dontrelle Willis told me nobody wants to face Freddy Peralta. I had no clue.
  3. Who didn't see that coming? Two outs so ok send I guess.
  4. Did Lane think Khris Davis was in left?
  5. Terrible defensive play but Contreras will take it.
  6. Great effort by Yelich? He did not play that well at all.
  7. Announcers: "Brewers haven't hit their full stride yet". Since the beginning of June last year they are what 88-91 or something like that. I'd say they are pretty much in full stride and this is what they are.
  8. And somehow this team would still be in the playoffs as of now. Expanded playoffs and NL mediocrity to the rescue. I would still be a hard seller at the deadline.
  9. A sweep looking likely with the A's "ace" and a lefty going tomorrow.
  10. I figured about a week ago, the division was the Cardinals. Nothing that has happened since dampens that feeling. Knowing them, this will be 2006 where an 83 win team goes on to win it all.
  11. Would these blasted announcers stop harping on the step off. It had zero impact on how the game yesterday played out. Would have had runners on 1st and 2nd regardless, whether he was balked over or advanced after the ensuing walk.
  12. With the Cards seemingly playing at an all-time worst, I have no clue who comes out of this division.
  13. Seems like Burnes ask was a reasonable one in the first place. Bieber does seem like an excellent comp and he received a 67% increase in salary. Burnes was asking for a 65% increase in salary. In addition, when compared to other elite pitchers in their second year of arbitration like Bieber, deGrom, Cole, Castillo, etc., his raise is easily the lowest on a percentage basis.
  14. I'll join the consensus in being completely stunned by the trade. Personally, I have Ruiz valued at about $15 million but I don't have a lot of faith that he will justify even that number. I was always hoping he would get traded as opposed to the other OFers we have in the organization so I'm extremely happy by the move.
  15. Boy do I not miss seeing Garcia try to play RF.
  16. Agreed. His fWAR for his last 3 years in Miami was about 3.8 per year versus 1.8 the last two years. Slugging was .447 versus .378. Plus, supposedly he could play defense then. As a soon to be 31 year old that should be relegated to DH duties going forward, if he was a FA this offseason, he'd be lucky to get a 2 year $20 million contract.
  17. It's "only" 6 more years. Pretty safe to say his 2029 option is getting bought out at this point.
  18. I get that but those two guys have ERAs around 7 over the last 3 years. Hard to believe organizations don't have at least a Jason Alexander wallowing in their farm systems they could kick the tires on instead. Hard to believe they would be any worse. Although pitching against the Brewers can make most anyone look viable.
