  1. All I know is Woody has had more stress in his 80 pitches today than he did in his 74 last time out.
  2. Nah, Woodruff is clearly better than Peralta. In what way is he clearly better? I wouldn't say Woodruff is clearly better but Peralta will need to have more starts under his belt before I'd put him in the number two spot. That being said, with more experience, he could become even better.
  3. I think the Nationals had a lot of players test positive. The Cubs have had negative tests, just some close contacts to a coach who tested positive. I thought Duffy had tested positive but perhaps not. Two coaches though and obviously not everyone tests positive right away.
  4. I'm not sure I understand. The Nationals got shut down for 5 days due to some type of COVID outbreak but the Cubs are just moving ahead all systems go. Not sure what the difference is in the two situations to be honest.
  5. Please let Billy play first the next time the urge is there to play Vogelbach. The rose was already pretty wilted when we picked up Vogelbach for me and the bloom is completely off the rose at this point. He just isn't very good and can't play defense anyway so why not go with McKinney while he's going good?
  6. I have never seen such a passionate hate for an announcer before. Have you ever just muted the TV and turned on the radio or something? If this board existed in the days Mike Hegan was calling games or Lorn Brown. Those were two guys I couldn't stand. I personally don't mind BA but do get annoyed with him telling me how extremely fast Avisail is at every opportunity. Pretty sure he never was extremely fast and certainly isn't now.
  7. Yeah hard to throw out a runner at home on a grounder right to you with the runner breaking back to third.
  8. I still don't really get the Bradley signing. Most of his value is derived by his ability to play CF. He's not being used there enough to justify that contract. Offensively I wouldn't have expected him to be any better than Taylor.
  9. While I'm not opposed to Vogelbach getting a start, I'm not sure a 5 at bat sample size is sufficient to mark him as a must play. He is just 1-7 this year, de Leon has held lefties to a .161 average in his career and the two hits by Vogelbach averaged exit velocities under 74, so not exactly stung. Nevermind.

  11. Definitely would be playing Keston here. He looked a bit better on Friday and much better yesterday, on offense anyway. Certainly would have tried to keep that going. Almost surprised Garcia isn't on the bench too.
  12. Guess any thought Lindblom would add a couple of MPH after making the switch to the bullpen has been put to bed. Seems to be going the other direction.
  13. Hiura is a train wreck on defense whether it is fielding or throwing. Changing positions and all the time in the world will undoubtedly never change that.
  14. I suppose I've seen it sometime, but can't remember a guy on third getting hit with a ball in fair territory (assuming it was).
  15. I think I'd prefer Houser in the bullpen but not at the expense of having Lindblom start.
  16. I said in the in game thread yesterday that Knebel would be saving games for the Dodgers come the playoffs. Meaning he would supplant Jansen by that time. Not saying it's already happened, but it's just a matter of time before he's the regular closer. Jansen is far more hittable these days than Knebel.
  17. It also looked a lot better when it was thought Peralta would be in the bullpen but can certainly see why they would have him in the rotation over Lindblom. Suter is still solid but a lot of guys with little to no experience after that. Would also like a do over on that Corey Knebel trade. Good point on Peralta but agree he should be starting. Knebel trade definitely going to backfire. I actually expect him to be closing games in the playoffs for the Dodgers this year.
  18. Because he gave up a home run to a guy who has led the league in home runs three times in his eight year career? Maybe because of that pesky 7.78 career ERA.
  19. I hope everyone has figured out by now, the bullpen isn't very good. Hader is great and Williams was great and let's assume will be again. Outside of that, what guy do you really trust at all? The answer should be no one.
