  1. Personally, I believe it all comes down to Jose Capellan. Brewers fans were expecting a long illustrious career and were disappointed. Therefore, Braves prospects that get traded are overhyped. Seems like Duane Ward, Jason Schmidt, Adam Wainwright, Matt Harrison, etc. did ok for their new teams.
  2. I agree completely on Hiura. I actually was quite concerned about the jump in K rate in 2019. His average was still good but inflated by babip rates around .400. For Yelich I didn't think the knee would be a thing, maybe it is. I really thought with his solid spring and 6BB/6SO ratio he had, it looked to me that he was back to his old self but it certainly hasn't looked that way in the games that count.
  3. Hiura is the latest example of why I don’t get too excited about minor league prospects. When I hear “he’s hit everywhere he’s been” one of the first names that comes to mind is Randy Ready. Hiura hits and fields just like him. Hey I'd settle for a .259 average from Hiura at this point. I actually started becoming concerned with Hiura as I thought his Ks at AAA were a little concerning. Plus his averages were really lifted by some very high babip rates.
  4. Four games I get that, but they should be 0-4 and look a lot more like a last place team than a first place team.
  5. Sogard on his way to another rebound season as a precursor to the Brewers signing him to play third in 2022.
  6. For who? The whole team isn't hitting. I don't think it matters. At some point you are doing more harm to yourself by struggling to the tune he is. He can't handle meatballs down the heart of the plate. Of course I would have like the Brewers to actually have a plan B at first and I'm not sure they have one. But I would give McKinney a mini-audition to see what he can do. Can't be worse than Keston.
  7. Hiura now .195 average with 103 Ks in his last 251 at bats. Another week (or less) of this, and he has to be sent down to the alternate site.
  8. You are quite generous. Well I don't disagree. Just hate the talk of him having six pitches and he commands them all. I don't care which of the six he throws, they are all rather hittable.
  9. Josh Lindblom is a jack of all trades but master of none.
  10. Do they only use the dead ball when the Brewers bat? Then again, when you strikeout all time time I guess it doesn't matter what ball they are using. My bad.
  11. If Hiura's struggles continue, and I expect them to, do we option him out once the minor leagues get going? And if so, can McKinney become the every day 1B against righties? He has played there briefly in the major leagues but don't know if it's a viable option. Vogelbach is not an option whatsoever in my opinion.
  12. I'm not sure I've ever seen a worst send. Very questionable send to begin with considering Shaw is "running". But then he sees Shaw come to a stop but he keeps the windmill going. Are you serious?
  13. Lasted all the way until opening day before we have our first postponement of the year in the Mets and the Nationals.
  14. While it was earlier reported that Sogard had won the job, apparently it is now David Bote. Perhaps Sogard is destined for a super sub role. Better the Cubs than the Brewers.
  15. I guess it is an odd numbered year so he has that going for him. Just so long as he doesn't have a great year, Shaw and company flounder, and the Brewers sign Sogard for 2022.
  16. Personally, I think Hiura needs time in the minors for offensive and defensive purposes. Not going to happen but my confidence in him is practically nil at this point.
  17. I could easily be convinced that Mitchell is our second best outfielder right now. Haven't been as optimistic for a Brewers prospect since probably Braun.
  18. I couldn't agree more. His strikeouts are just at a completely unsustainable level for any kind of elite hitter. Doesn't have the power of a Joey Gallo to just survive on homers alone and still not sure he can play even passable defense either. He just doesn't seem to be showing any signs of improvement at the plate and what once looked like a cornerstone is just covered in red flags today.
  19. Can they just cut Lauer already? He shows me absolutely nothing.
  20. Really like watching Robertson's at bats. He looks super patient up there and looks like he'll give you a professional at bat. I probably have the most optimism for him of any of the guys at third on the team but I'm not sure he's really even in the running for that spot.
