  1. Now Urias has been charged with an error for that 1st inning whiff.
  2. I listen to a LOT of baseball on the radio. I've always loved baseball on the radio, ever since I listened to the old AAA San Diego Padres of the Pacific Coast League. So I hear many announcers for many different teams. Lane, Jeff, and even newby Josh are pretty good and better than many. Ueker is, of course, his own special thing. Sometimes it's better to hear silly non-baseball talk, like when your team is getting hammered than to hear the same old inane baseball platitudes by guys who think they are experts because they have a microphone. That said, I like a lot more radio announcers than I dislike. And given that the Crew is playing like U-12 today and getting bombed, I may check out some of the other day games. Blecchh.
  3. I now recall (correctly?) that he had a few lapses at 3d base last year. Did they ever give him an error? Radio says it was scored incorrectly as a hit.
  4. I'm not I'd sure actually want to see this pathetic defensive show. It looks bad enough on the radio.
  5. At least on the radio you get the Speedy Metals song! ? ?
  6. This forum is blocked at work (lucky for y'all!). But I had to pop in late to say how happy I am for Keston to hit that 3-run shot.
  7. HAHAHA Touche. That s was the WRONGEST inning to try to make that point! I was distracted. ish
  8. One reason why we don't score enough is that we don't play ANY "small ball." 2d & 3d with nobody out and you don't score?!!? Inexcusable. I'd give other examples but I'm cooking and drinking (while cussing at the 'radio'). Let's put the pen in a dodgy position....bughghghghghg. [that didnl't age well ).
  9. I'm late to the funeral, but YES! I was listening in my car and thought, "OK! Rowdy coming up with a man on. A 2-run shot could happen!" But before I could finish the thought, Cain hits into a DP. Bughghghgh!
  10. I'm listening and watching because it's baseball. I'd kinda like to see Dusty win it. But I can't force myself to care too much. I'll hope for 7 interesting games of well-played baseball. I'll also say that it's nice to watch players who HIT and run and score, as opposed to our tepid lineup. Just thinking about our wienie offense makes me sad.
  11. It looks like my 2 LEAST favorite teams -ATL and HOU- will make the WS. Bleccchhh.
  12. Agreed on all accounts. Same here. The offense needs some massive upgrades. Yelich and Hiura... something's gotta get fixed. Lots of time in the hitting lab. In the case of Yelich, I recall that Braun did make a recovery and became solid, if not his MVP-esque form. But the offense needs to be fixed. Whether they find those players in NPB or KBO, or find some gems in free agency, this team needs offense. AMEN.
  13. Hey Bob Ueker. I love you man, but stop saying it was a "great series"; it bloody well sucked because we FAILED at the plate.
  14. Well well well. End of the road for 2021. The shortest possible summary for me is... Pitching: A+ Defense: B Hitting: D+ Base-running - B (but sample of runners too small). On the good side, I really enjoyed being on this board as the newest of newbies and as a recent --but deliberate-- Brewer fan. And I especially enjoyed spending many pleasant afternoons and evenings listening to Ueker, Jeff, & Laine on the internet 'radio.' It was a good season, except for that unshakable regret that we seem to have coasted a bit too much after clinching the division, and the indisputable reality that this team just didn't hit enough when it really counted. I pray that Christian Yelich finds his way again, because he's hit rock bottom. I hope to join y'all again for a good ride next summer. When does spring training start? Cheers, thanks, peace, & blessings to all! Beery
  15. Sadly fitting that Yelich strikes out looking to end the season. He seems to have hit rock bottom. Very sad
  16. I --among countless others-- don't understand bringing in Hader for just one inning except the 9th.
  17. The crippling inability to score runs skews a lot of other decisions, methinks. In the back of CC's mind must be a quiet sense of desperation that this team just plain doesn't hit when it needs too.
