  1. That's logical. Logic usually goes out the window once I start watching, though. We'll have to ready to beat them all in order to win it all anyway.
  2. Agreed! I really like MLB.tv. The audio only app is just $2.99 per month and can't be beat. I'll listen to a day game between teams I don't care too much about --if the announcers are good-- just to have the company while I work. It's kinda fun to hear what's going on in other cities by way of the ads and other comments. It's fortunate that the Brewers have what I think is the best radio crew of all, with and without Ueker. And Brian Anderson is among the best TV guys I can think of; I get to hear him if the Brewers are the "free game of the day." Enough of my babbling. Baseball, please!
  3. Yes. All four teams have big followings, and the games are big rivalries, at least the Red Sox & Yankees are. And Yes, the logo. You know what's sad about the playoffs, though? No more huge slates of baseball games every day --and sometimes all day-- all over the country (which is cool if you have the an audio app and can listen to any game with local announcers). That's what I love most about baseball season: every team has another game tomorrow. So the end of it, like the end of summer, is a little sad. But that's Time & Seasons for you, and Brewers' wins will greatly improve my outlook.
  4. I'm disappointed that Seattle or Toronto did not get in ahead of Boston or (especially) the Yankees. In the NL, I prefer the Dodgers
  5. Although it's tough to let go of my meticulously cultivated pessimism, I'm officially tossing it in the garbage. I feel lighter already.
  6. The Drysdale- Koufax- Walter Alston era Dodgers were the first team I liked at all, but I was a kid. Fast forward: starting in the '70s, and for about 20 years, it was the Montreal Expos (don't ask; I just loved them), with LA #2 . After the Expos folded (The Nats just ain't them.) I rather passively slid back to the Dodgers. I had liked Milwaukee, but they were AL way back then, which was a real drawback. After the Brewers were in the Good League and especially when they took the spoiled rich Dodgers to the edge, and because I saw how much my choir buddy loved them, and because my cool boss loved them, and because their mascot made BEER, I made a conscious and deliberate decision that the Milwaukee Brewers were my new favorite team. Period. Full Stop. END of discussion. It's like when I was stationed in New Orleans in '78 and chose the Saints to be my team. There will no other, even though I have never even been to Wisconsin that I can recall.
  7. CC is smarter than most of the yahoos on here, especially me. SO... Let us all hope he knew what he was doing for the last 2 mostly crummy weeks. It is now OFFICIALLY OK to really-really-really want us to win, with no more "Well...they weren't actually trying" rationalizations.
  8. Wake me up when CC decides a game is worth playing to win.
  9. I don't know what's in CC's mind. If we win the NLDS he'll be annointed a Sports Psychology Genius. But I'm not convinced that this "not really trying to win" approach is ever good. There is no "switch" to turn on. I'll gladly be proved wrong.
  10. Yes, they can still win their division but it’s not looking good. The Giants magic number to clinch is just 2 and they play the struggling Padres this weekend. Well, the Dodgers are playing the struggling Brewers this weekend too... "Struggling" may be an overstatement. Maybe one of these is more accurate? listless, torpid, uninspired, coasting, lackluster, lackadaisical, stagnant, unmotivated, somnambulant, hebetudinous*? I lean toward "complacent" or "apathetic." EDIT: Those adjectives actually apply better to me when the game starts after 9PM. :-/ *Thesaurus.com is a friend
  11. I mean, he's not going to come out and say that they don't care. But right now the #1 goal is to go into next week rested and healthy. Does "momentum" matter? I think it probably does, at least a little.
  12. Hiura seems to have had some decent at bats today, according to the radio guys. (he said a minute late).
  13. At least we won't have to face those terrifying KC Royals in the playoffs!
  14. Especially in hindsight after Sanchez promptly blows the lead.
  15. Could not agree more -- absolutely shocking; shockingly stupid and immature.
  16. Now that we have clinched, the frustrating failure to beat the dirty birds is almost comical, but not quite. Better luck (and playing) tonight.
  17. I don't care how "meaningless" these games are. We need to beat these guys!
  18. I have an alibi - I missed it while putting the kids to bed. So I admit nothing. I’ve been meaning to tell you that it’s nice to hear from a Brewers fan in the GNO. When I was there I’m pretty sure I was the only one. But that was so long ago they didn’t even have a minor-league team. Laissez les bon temps rouler! One reason I'm a Brewers fan is a friend from Wisconsin I sing with in choir. So there's at least 2 of us!
  19. If we're just going to give away runs I'm going to bed. Zzzzzzzz
  20. Welcome to my radio- only world. No Usinger's or Cedarcrest in New Orleans. I noticed some Pretzilla at one store. Pretty good but ridiculously expensive.
