  1. I don't want to be too gloomy, but --just now-- the Cardinals are stepping on the gas while we are still in cruise control.
  2. Cardinals consistently play sound fundamental baseball. It's not flashy but it pays off in the long run. It really is the "foundation" for their perennial success. It's hard to listen to Yelich's game.
  3. The Brewers' weakness is definitely not pitching, not really hitting, but the simplest acts of catching and especially throwing. I mean it's not bad, but it's not as good as it might be or should be. And it's fundamental.
  4. If I were a Cardinal fan I'd be feeling pretty cocky about playing the Brewers 6(?) times before the end of the season. It almost seems like we're trying to coast to the finish line. But there's a bit of a hill before we get there. Keep pedaling! Sort of like how cocky Reds fans [and national pundits] were coming out of the All Star Break. Let us hope! We definitely CAN take care of business, so let's DO it (he said as if he had any control over it).

  6. This sounds like nothing but bad stupid lazy baseball. Self destruction.
  7. Cool! Let's hope he gives a couple to the fans in the outfield stands tonight.. with his bat, of course. (Good luck with your hands, too BTW. )
  8. THIS^^^^ Brewers' defense seems to cost them too often. Let those with the numbers speak on this.
  9. Me too, I think we get some kind of "assist" or something for this SMASHING win. Get outta here!
  10. Bravo, Adrian Houser! Just what the team needed. It's the cherry on top of a day when we got electricity back 6 days post-hurricane.
  11. I'm actually sorry I missed that. It would have been better than constantly refreshing the radar screen and listening to eminent local meteorologists repeat that "hurricane Ida is a very dangerous storm", as if we didn't know that. Not to whine (well, not much) but I was distracted by a Cat 4 hurricane grazing my town and knocking out power (and we were lucky). For all the good it didn't do me to fret about the storm, I could have enjoyed hearing a Brewers win. I'll enjoy it post hoc by reading this thread and drinking a beer or 5.
  12. I guess the umps had to squeeze in at least one ridiculous call.
  13. An unstoppable force meets an unmovable object Or a stoppable force meets a moveable object HEH, Beat me to it!
  14. ugh! Too bad it's a game where just know you're going to be behind before you have an atbat. Then extrapolates from there. I was hoping not to have to resort immediately to the consolation of, "Oh well, at least we won the first 2."
  15. I finally get to see a game on TV, and this is what I get. Blecchh! Well, there's still 5 innings to go.
