  1. Not sure how gennett doesn't at least knock that down but that was pathetic. Should have been an easy five pitch inning. Instead were losing. Frustrating. Is it me or does Phillips seemingly have a career .400 average against us?
  2. Falu huh. Ugh. Segura has been scuffling at the plate pretty bad I guess. I'm somewhat surprised to see Gennett in there. Weeks is something like 14-27 lifetime against Baily. Hopefully the offense can get going again at home. We've seemed to struggle with the Reds the past couple years....about time we turn that around!! Was hoping that Phillips might be out, but here appears to be in the lineup tonight.
  3. I think with Braun, watching him swing...he just doesn't look right. He seems to be trying to take pretty much everything to RF. Almost like pulling the ball hurts him or something. He just doesn't look right on most swings.
  4. there are tons of brodus clays. it seems like every year atleast 1 heavy weight wrestler comes in and get a big push and slowly fades, ryback / Tensai will be the next to be released and I am sure in 2 years rusov will be In the same boat. If anyone in the wwe needs to be released it is sandow, his latest gimmick is embarrassing bad. Gotta be honest...I thought Tensai was released months and months ago. Whoops. I love Sandow and his shirts but he's being wasted.
  5. Brodus Clay, talk about a bunch of hype built up for absolutely nothing. None of the rest of them are any big loss either. I didn't realize Evan Bourne was even back in the first place.
  6. The difference between the Bucks trading Lohse and the Bucks trading Sanders is that the Bucks are in total rebuilding mode. Sure, the C position might be weaker next year, but next year doesn't matter. They'll have 2-3 more years to draft a center and develop them. I'm not saying I'd definitely do that trade, but I wouldn't NOT do it simply because we're short at C next year. They have enough guys there to figure it out and can always sign someone in the Dalembert mold for a year or two if need be as well.
  7. Have you seen all his incidents from this weekend? He basically got tagged in the chest on a relatively normal play at third base. He promptly flipped out, spiked his helmet into the ground and got right in the face of the third basemen. That's not an over-reaction at all to you? Watch the play, Machado didn't even fall down, if the guy hit him hard (doesn't appear so), it's because he was lunging at him as Machado tried to avoid the tag)...this happens on tag plays pretty often and nobody goes nuts about it. Sunday then, yes, the first pitch was up and in (pitchers are allowed to throw there, we don't know it was there on purpose or not). The next pitch, which was a strike that he swung at, his bat goes flying towards the third basemen - basically on purpose. I fail to see how these are reasonable responses. The A's didn't throw it him all weekend. He wasn't beaned like 3 times or anything. So a pitch was throw inside, big deal. So he got tagged in the chest, big deal. He needs to grow up and stop acting like a baby. Relief pitchers are somewhat immune (though the guy can always charge the mound), but starting pitchers have to bat these days with interleague play and if teams really want to retaliate by hitting them, eventually they will get the chance to do so.
  8. Yeah, because if one thing is true about this years Brewers teams, it's that they're really bad in these close games! The Brewers have continually won games like this all year long. I don't think they've really blown many chances at scoring. They loaded them in the 1st on some really weak hits and then got some nice, timely hitting. And Peralta was outstanding as was Segura's D behind him. The fact that we've won a bunch of these types of games this year doesn't make it ok that we failed to execute when we had the chance to score runs. This could have been an easy win without silly baserunning and some simple offensive execution. (sac flies). Can we continue to win close games all year long? Sure, it's possible, but the more we put ourselves in, the more high stress innings our bullpen has to endure. The fact is that we left a lot of runs on the bases tonight and it very easily could have come back to bite us. It didn't, and that's great, but we still had chances to widen the lead and failed to do so. You don't think they blew chances to score? First inning...Bases loaded 1 out, no runs. Weak hits or not, the bases were loaded. Fifth inning, run in already...First and third, no outs. Wind up with no more runs in the inning. Seventh inning....Braun thrown out at the plate for the first out of an inning, then failure to score with man on third and one out again. Those are about as big of scoring opportunities as you can ask for. We had several chances to score runs without even needing a hit and we failed to do so. Brewers were 4-15 with RISP and left 10 men on base compared to scoring just 3 runs. My main problem is sending Braun there. He was out by a mile and we ran ourselves right out of an inning. Sending him made very little sense with no outs and Gomez and Ramirez coming up.
  9. We are just trying to not score runs. Stupid send. Then a pop up with the infield in. This is almost certainly going to come back to bite us I think. Why send him with nobody out and the middle of the order coming up??? He was out by a mile.
  10. Brewers could easily have 6-8 runs in this game. Sure hope these missed chances don't come back to bite us. Feels like it will though....it usually does though.
  11. Way to jump on him early. Frustrating to say the least.
  12. This has clearly happened lately. He is rarely getting swings at change ups out of the zone. BA has mentioned it several times even.
  13. Would also be nice if the cardinals would give up a run or two...on the verge of yet another shutout. As far as when rr makes the switch...probably not until August. I just have zero faith in us to let Nelson have a shot unless Estrada gets hurt or becomes completely awful.
  14. I really dislike Estrada right now. Seriously. It's just gopher ball after gopher ball. And he makes it worse by walking guys prior to hrs. And this is a team that doesn't hr much playing in a huge park yet he still figured out how to give up a couple and lose the game for us. How long do we have to keep using him in a starting role????
  15. Is your brother attempting to be a wrestler?
  16. Cy Sneed, RHP from Dallas Baptist, 6'4, 185lb MLB draft profile: The younger brother of Royals right-handed pitching prospect Zeb Sneed, Cy could have preceded him in pro ball, but he declined to sign with the Rangers as a 35th-round pick out of an Idaho high school in 2011. He instead headed to Dallas Baptist, where he has been a rotation mainstay since the first weekend of his college career. Like his brother, Sneed relies mainly on his arm strength. He maintains a 90-92 mph fastball deep into games and is capable of reaching 95, though his heater is a bit straight. For now, the rest of Sneed's arsenal is ordinary. He has some feel for using a three-pitch mix, though neither his curveball nor his changeup is a consistently average pitch. He throws a decent amount of strikes, but his command isn't terribly reliable, so he could wind up as a reliever down the road.
  17. I second this. I know just a very little bit about a lot of these guys in the draft and I've relied on everyone here to fill me and whatnot. I appreciate it!!
  18. Do we really have any idea what number it will take on Gatewood or Harrison? I'm sure the Brewers do (at least I sure hope they do). I would assume they talked to them before drafting to get a pretty good idea of what it will take to sign them. Also, Gatewood (I think) attended the draft in person. I have a hard time believing he would go through all that hassle if he wasn't seriously interested in playing. Like you've said, they will likely take some college seniors in the next few rounds that will sign for less than slot. Who knows, they may also take another high upside guy with signability concerns, just in case they miss out on those two. So for those that follow this much more than I do. Any that's fallen that shouldn't have? Anyone I should be screaming for us to draft tomorrow?
  19. So 3 lottery picks. How would we make that happen? I know a few teams have 2 lottery picks, but do we really have the assets player wise to get a third? Any idea what that would be?
  20. Wow, nice to see us storm back and take this one. Nice win. Losing 3-4 to the Twins would have sucked. If they are healthy, the 1-6 spots in our lineup could really turn into something awesome. Cardinals lost, gotta like that too. My math could be wrong here (couple beers in tonight), but I believe it puts the magic number at 97. I know it's June, but I like to think about it anyways Pittsburgh is creeping back in it...be nice to take 2 out of 3 from them this weekend!
  21. The failure to execute sac flies by this team infuriates me. Seems like we just never hit them.
  22. Is there any impact bats worth taking here?
  23. Makes sense for Toronto as they have pick 11 too I guess.
  24. So realistically...who should I be hoping somehow falls to number 12??
