  1. RR didn't say a whole lot about it other than he felt pretty strongly that he hit Braun on purpose. It wasn't what he said, but you could see it in his face that he was pretty pissed. Good to see, as Ron doesn't usually show that type of fire.
  2. He said "I'm not going to comment on that but you've been around the game long enough". Then basically said they put Braun on base on purpose to setup the double play and weren't worried about the HR. He then went on to say that he didn't feel there was any intention of Brewers pitchers in the last two days. Uh, then why did you throw at Braun in that way? And why did you react and give a very excited fist bump to the pitcher. Gibson was the first guy to greet him when he got there, nobody asked him about the dugout reaction, at least not while the Brewers telecast was showing it.
  3. For those still up, I think I just heard that FSN is going to show Gibson talking/presser shortly.
  4. Lucroy just said something to the extent of "The whole situation was ridiculous. We didn't hit him on purpose. In a one run game, we're not going to put the leadoff hitter on base, especially up near his head."
  5. So now that we've won...I was worried that maybe this was beginning of the slide. After seeing how this game unfolded, this might have the exact opposite of that. Things like this can really bring a team together. I'm guessing the Brewers feel that Braun got hit unjustly, and the fact that it took two throws and then to see a reaction like that...you know everyone in the dugout saw that and wanted to make them pay. And Lucroy did. Could be a real team builder that puts a jolt into this team. You could even hear it from the announcers watching the replay - EVERYONE wanted to make them pay, and we did.
  6. Whew. Survived the terror!!! And now I can say it...one of the best moments, if not the best moment/game of the year so far.
  7. Alright, didn't matter. Two outs. Still certainly not out of the woods by any stretch here. Keep everything on the outter half here. Montero is going to likely try to jerk one out to RF.
  8. Wow, leaving EVERYTHING up and everything is being crushed. This could be very, very, very bad. Please don't let this happen....
  9. One down. Now get the grounder and let's turn two....please?
  10. Come on K-Rod. Don't blow this. Tying run up already, no outs and unless we turn a DP, Goldschmidt will have to bat. CRAP.
  11. Well that was certainly a horrible start. Hopefully just getting that out of the way. Wow that was crushed.
  12. Alright K-Rod. No terror tonight please. Just drop the hammer here on them and let's go home winners.
  13. It's debatable if putting Braun on there is the right call or not. . I can see both sides of it, though bringing up our hottest hitter to the plate is a bit odd. Does setup the double play, so I don't think putting him on 1b was necessarily the wrong call, but going about it by throwing at him twice and then throwing a party in the dugout about it really makes you look bad. And Lucroy hitting a grand slam makes it look really, really bad. And I bet a lot of people (non-Brewers fans) that see it will think they got what was coming to them with that type of reaction.
  14. Commentators have anything to say about that? Were they onboard with it? That type of reaction is pretty classless, regardless if you feel we deserved it or not.
  15. Stupid satellite just went out...GRRR. Two nights in a row with a giant thunderstorm near the end of the Brewers game. And the MLB gamecast still sucks.
  16. I'll have to watch the MLB videos or see if anyone has the Arizona feed online somewhere. I'd really like to see the Arizona dugout after the Lucroy HR. The thing is, putting Braun on first base there isn't necessarily the worst move, but going about it the way he did (and his reaction)....I can't wait to see his presser tonight if they lose. I know Gibson pretty much hates Braun, and has for quite awhile now. Part of me wonders if he took some real enjoyment out of that. The catcher made the signal, so that call pretty clearly came from the dugout. Not once, but twice. Alright, let's get some insurance now!!
  17. Wow, nice job Will Smith!! Only 10 pitches. Too bad he's due up 3rd this inning (I think).
  18. Lucroy hit his second bomb of the night, yes. We had second and third one up, one out. They threw behind Braun, then beaned him on the next pitch. The Arizona dugout went nuts and Gibson even high fived the pitcher after getting ejected. Lurcoy came up and on the first pitch hit a monster grand slam to CF.
  19. Yeah.. I think I'm going to have to agree with you. I was yelling along with the two guys in the booth. That was great. I'll be with you there too...IF we go on to win the game. 9 outs to go yet.
  20. LUCROY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Well, except for, you know, that homer a few games ago. And the triple last night. I was more referring to men on third and 1 out, he's struck out in that spot quite a few times lately. Come on Lucroy, make them look like dicks now...please. Anything but a DP here.
  22. Let's just hope that Lucroy makes them pay here. The threat of that DP is always scary now with the bases loaded. I have no problem with the retaliation - I DO have a huge problem with 2 things. 1 - He threw behind him, ump talks to him and he's allowed to throw another pitch. And promptly hits him. 2 - The reaction by the dugoug was ridiculous. I really don't think any DBacks HBP were on purpose, but even if they were, does it really warrant mass celebration like that? And a positive, fist bump reaction from the manager?
  23. Good call guys. Ideal spot to hit someone with our biggest star up there. I never understand why that's not an automatic ejection. Wow, two in a row. Montero literally SIGNALED for him to hit Braun. And a high five from Gibson in the dugout and the team is going nuts. CLASSY.
