  1. Scooter!!! Couldn't quite slice away enough to get into the corner. Alright Braun, these are spots he's looked very, very bad in lately. Let's at least get this run in from third. Please.
  2. Well he brought him in. Really thought off the bat that was going to fall for a hit. Damn. Well chipping away at least.
  3. I really didn't think that any of the HBP were intentional, but you never know how teams are going to view these things. If they want to hit someone this late in a two run game, then so be it. I'm sure it'll be tomorrow or Thursday if they're really going to. Segura again!! Gutsy move going to third, but he made it. Now bring him in...
  4. LUC!!! Unearned run looms larger now Come on boys, let's put up a crooked number here.
  5. Awesome inning. Look at the runs we've given then. Walk because we're too scared to pitch to Goldschmidt with 2 outs and nobody on. An error and now a run. The error was pretty bad, he rushed it and I'm not sure he needed to. Just a very frustrating night all around. I really hope this isn't the beginning stretch that man of us have been fearing....that leads to the Cardinals catching us as most people seem to be expecting. We really haven't been playing well for the last week or so and the Cardinals seemingly can do nothing wrong - they aren't scoring much, but opponents have just flat out stopped scoring runs against them (and leaving a small army on the bases in the games I've watched).
  6. Talking to myself in the IGT tonight.... So frustrating to watch a guy that quite frankly isn't all that good completely shut us down so far. Sadly, virtually all of us called this.
  7. Herrera, Lohse and Gennett due up. I'm not expecting much, but at least maybe we can make him throw more than 8-10 pitches this inning.
  8. First inning just a killer. Lohse was ahead 0-2 and hit a guy, then 0-2 and walked another and both of those runs scored. Then a pop up that fell.
  9. I'm not sure the first pitch swinging is really what we should be doing. Two innings in a row we've made two outs inside of 5 pitches. This guy just simply doesn't have that good of stuff. Make him work and he'll make mistakes.
  10. Well at least the offense is generating scoring chances....gotta start pushing a few across.
  11. Segura looked good there!! Now how about a fluke Herrera RBi...? Too much to ask?
  12. Which part? In the 8th inning, Ramirez pretty clearly went around on strike 3 that would have ended the inning...but the first base ump said he checked. Next pitch he hits a 2 run double. Now in the 9th. Maldonado didn't appear to be HBP, but was awarded 1b. Pretty obviously missed him. Gibson came out and argued but went back to the dugout and Maldy stayed at first. Then Herrera stole 3b. He was clearly safe but his foot came off the base and it was close at that point. Gibson, even though out of challenges, comes out to argue and gets them to review it. This takes 4-5 minutes and the call stands - this one was pretty close. Personally, I think he was out. But it wasn't overly clear and the call stood. Would have been the third out of the inning. Gibson comes back out and immediately gets ejected. Gennett follows with a RBI single and Braun tacks on a 2 run double. So basically, two calls went in our favor - the Ramirez one was especially bad IMO. So we could have had zero runs in both innings and wound up with 6. That assumes the following hitters wouldn't have lead off with hits. huh?? Yes, I realize the rest of the game maybe plays out differently if Ramirez is called out on strikes. But that was a pretty obviously missed call and the very next pitch resulted in runs. I'm not really sure what you're trying to say here?
  13. Woohoo!! Nice to win a game without Gomez playing. Sure would be nice if the Cardinals could remember how to lose again.

  15. This might have been the case. But I didn't see any definite angle of when the tag was actually applied. It looked like the glove hit the helmet right around the same time that his second foot hit the base. He looked out to me, but I'm not sure it was completely indisputable - but much like the NFL, unless it's blatantly obvious, I've given up trying to figure out what the review decisions will be. Often times things look quite clear to me only to have them make the opposite call. Say what you want about us getting the breaks (and we have), but at least we've come up with some big clutch hits to take advantage of it. Sit K-Rod back down now?
  16. This challenge system needs to be fixed. Arizona is "out" of challenges, but he can still come out and talk to the umpires to see if they felt it was close enough for review. Basically, any close play, just come out and protest every single close call to see if you can get the umpires to review it. Not only that, but they need to put a time limit on it like in the NFL. If you can't figure out if he's out/safe within 1-2 minutes, then the call stands. It's pretty simple. Should this call really be taking THIS long?? This is a safe/out play at 3b and it took 4 minutes to review? Really? And ON TOP OF THAT, Gibson comes back out. Wasting even more time. Just dumb. The umpires aren't doing anything but reported what's being decided by someone other than them. Why yell at the messenger?
  17. Wow, that missed him by a couple of inches at least. Umps are really helping us out here these last couple innings. Hopefully Scooter can find a hole. Anyone else nervous about the fact that it's only a 3 run game and we're completely out of bench players? Wasting Overbay sure looks pretty silly right about now huh RR?
  18. Come on Will Smith, shut them down here please. Not a great start. Smith has been great, but with so many pitchers, I almost would have liked to have seen a RHP brought in for Goldschmidt, though I'm not really sure who.
  19. Woohoo!!! Two out magic!! About time some of these balls hit some holes.
  20. Ramirez!!!! Thanks for not ringing him up at 1b...I swear half the time those guys aren't even watching. That was a pretty clear swing to me I thought.
  21. Wow, that looked like a strike to Lucroy. Caught a break there. Come on Ramirez, make them pay for those walks!!
  22. No, you aren't scary and Peralta is twice his size. I almost wish he would have charged.
  23. Man. This game is so frustrating sometimes. A bunch of just crushed balls that keep becoming outs. That ball hit the mound and caused it to lose a ton of speed or that's a clean single. Another lineout by Segura too. It seems like this happened the entire Reds series too. Probably means one of these games we're due for about 20 runs. Just so so many hard hit outs the last few games.
