  1. Well yesterdays game wasn't lost when he came in. It was a 1 run game in the 8th inning. Sure, Kimbrel was coming in, but it's not impossible to think we could score 1 or 2 runs...but not 6.
  2. As far as the DL is concerned, sure he technically has to be hurt. But guys go on the DL all the time with "arm fatigue" or "shoulder soreness". Would Wang go along with this? I can't imagine why he wouldn't....he'd still be collecting his full MLB salary.
  3. Well tonight's the night. 25% chance...but realistically, I say the Bucks have about a 5% chance of landing the first or second pick. The NBA has too many other teams it wants to be better. I'm really hoping we land in the top 2 so we can get Wiggens or Parker. I guess worst case would be third and they can take a chance on Embiid, picking 4th would be highly disappointing.
  4. Wasn't one of the main reasons for keeping Overbay because of his supposed great defense? Reynolds has been excellent on the field and Overbay has provided virtually nothing. Green would at least provide a better bat and more versatility - he can play 3 IF spots. He also has options remaining if the contract is purchased and could be sent down if we need space. IMO. Overbay and Bianchi are providing virtually nothing to this club.
  5. If we can make it to the 60 day roster mark, which will happen in about 10 days I think, they can put him on the DL and bring him back when the rosters expand in September. They've gone this far, 10 more days shouldn't kill them.
  6. Overbay looks completely finished. Same with Bianchi. Bianchi was only kept around to play SS and backup the infield, but Herrera can do that and play other positions. Bianchi's bat is just absolutely brutal.
  7. Figured I should clarify my posts above. I understand that day games have a place in baseball. Makes sense for travel. Makes sense to allow kids to go and have business meetings and all that stuff. Just for me, personally, I despise them. Not so much on the getaway days, but on days like today where it's a day game basically for no reason - and really only the Cubs do this simply due to silly reasoning IMO. That's all. It is raining, going to be a delay for sure from what I can tell.
  8. They couldn't play Braun one more day? How injured is he still? He couldn't play today and then take off tomorrow when Gomez returns? We're facing a guy that's been lights out this year....let's put out a lineup full of AAA/AAAA players, almost none of which have any power at all. Couldn't we at least have played both Maldy and Lucroy again? UGH. I'll be stunned if this lineup somehow scores more than 2 runs. PLEASE RAIN HARD ALL DAY!!!! Unfortunately, looking at the weather, it appears it's going to clear up by around 3:00. In all honestly, despite my thoughts on the lineup, a rainout wouldn't be the worst thing. I assume they won't play a doubleheader this weekend, in which case, Gomez serves his third game tomorrow. That gives him an extra day to recover with his back and gives Braun a day off without having to miss a game. Plus it's always good to get pitchers rest (even though we just had off Monday) as we don't have another day off until the 29th.
  9. I 100% agree with this. I make it to more weekday day games than I do weekday night games (I have 3 kids) ... the day games are great and a huge reason I rarely make it to a Bucks game. I have been saying for years the Bucks should have atleast 1 weekday game in their 41 home games. I can see your point here, but I have to disagree. I feel they do this enough on get away days and holidays. Kids are still in school right now and most people are working on Fridays. I understand from travel purposes doing it on the get away days, but to do it on a Friday, when a vast majority of people are at work (and kids are in school) just seems silly to me. I would love to watch the Brewers today, but I can't because it's a day game for no apparent reason.
  10. I hate the day games. I don't mind so much on Sundays (and to some extent Saturday), but the Friday afternoon game irritates the crap out of me. This isn't 1950 any more, the Cubs weekday day games are just annoying to me. It makes sense on get away day, but doing it on a Friday, when most of us have to work, just frustrates me a great deal.
  11. I didn't see the game live, but the DP that Reynolds started in the top of the 8th was spectacular. Wow that was hit hard. Great play.
  12. Agreed. It is minor, but you are correct. Unless he got a horrible jump or thought Lucroy was being held or something and when he noticed it was too late? But yeah, if Lucroy is out, Reynolds should have been on third with just one out.
  13. Maybe just giving him a few days off? He hasn't been that effective his last couple of outings (including today). Or just could be a rough couple days, he wasn't obviously going to go the entire year without giving up some runs.
  14. That's 3 blown saves (and subsequent losses) by the Pirates against us already this year. I can't imagine how much I would hate the Brewers if I was a Pirates fan.
  15. I'd add Braun or Ramirez to that list too. If any of the three of them are out, it just creates such a massive hole. Why is it those are the only 3 guys to get hurt? Lol. But we really need Segura and Davis to start picking it up as well. Nice win either way though!!
  16. Once again, the Brewers have made me look foolish when I start doubting them. Really didn't feel this rally coming. These are team building wins...now just somehow get everyone healthy at the same time. But really RR, Reynolds trying to bunt??? At least he let him swing at 3-1. On an unrelated note, MLB network did eventually put the game on, by this point Reynolds was up, but they showed a bunch of highlights of already completed games before doing so and it really pissed me off.
  17. Me too. Though they can probably still hit my 75mph fastball... I understand injuries happen and losing Braun, Ramirez, Gomez, etc is big blow, but it sure doesn't help that we can't replace them in the lineup with guys better than Hererra, Bianchi, Overbay, etc. Those guys aren't MLB caliber IMO. We didn't make any real attempt to sign any competent backups or have a MLB caliber bench, and we're paying for it big time right now. It's pretty tough to win games when your pitchers have to practically be perfect.
  18. I now we've won a lot of these type of games, but I just have zero faith in our offense to score any runs. If we give up 3 runs or more, I just assume it's a loss.
  19. I don't have the MLB package this year, but I had it many years in the past...and I find many of the opposing teams announcers to be horrible. I have some issues with BA and Bill (mainly Bill) but when you hear teams like the Pirates, it makes you thankful for what we have. So for those watching, the Reynolds throwing error...was that due to the fact that Lucroy is on 1b?
  20. Another balk? That's 3 in the last week called in our favor I think. Don't normally see that many all year it seems. Lineout to CF by Braun, ugh.
  21. I watched the video, Wandy barely even looked over and when he did, Weeks was practically back on third base already. If he even makes him look for one second, Braun is safe at first on the worst case scenario. Basically, Weeks can't go back that easily. Even if he gets thrown out, at least we still have two guys on there. Holy crap...a Weeks HR!!?!?
  22. Right, but Weeks can get in a rundown and we at least wind up with first and second with only 1 out. Didn't sound like it was hit sharply on the radio but I didn't actually see it.
  23. Well good start...corners with no outs. Come on Brewers, let's get some runs early!!! Or not. Braun seems to be pressing with RISP the last couple days. Let them off the hook there.
  24. Drew I wouldn't mind I guess, though I'd fire him personally. Hammond on the other hand needs to be canned immediately. Got the draft lottery next week, they'll have to move quickly to get a new staff in place to evaluate everyone in time. I have no real desired targets for coach or GM, just as long as they don't suck as much as Hammond.
  25. This had to be coming sooner or later. I don't know how the Davis hit got through the infield, but then some pretty poor pitches by K-Rod, left an 0-2 pitch right down the middle and it got pounded into CF. Then leaves a 1-2 hanger that gets crushed for a 2 run double. He's been great all year, but he simply didn't have it tonight (oh and I'm sure Gomez catches that ball). Still frustrating to think that our pitchers basically have to be perfect because our offense is filled with AAA (at best) talent.
