  1. Have the Cardinals even made an attempt to resign him after putting the comp pick on him? He made a mistake not accepting, but if the Cardinals don't want him back, he's in a very bad spot. I know it was designed to help teams keep star players bases on how much you have to offer them, but it can be a huge disadvantage to the player. Loshe was in a tough spot. Wanted one last long term pay day, but he's not quite good enough for teams to pay him that much AND give up their draft pick. If the team that put the pick on him doesn't want him back, he's going to wind up taking a substantial paycut I think, as nobody has beaten down the door to get him and Boras is basically begging teams like the Brewers to sign him.
  2. For some reason the Badgers game at NW tonight has me nervous. We seem to struggle there, even though NW is pretty bad. We've also gone through a TON of tough games lately and could be primed for a letdown. Hopefully I'm wrong, they really need to take care of the bottom feeders now that the tough part of the schedule is over.
  3. I'm not saying I WANT to trade for and resign Smith, but they could if they wanted. I'm against any trades that involve any of our first round picks. We aren't going anywhere this year even with the trades. If we can trade Ellis straight up for Smith and thats the only trade we do, that I'm fine with. Either one would be gone after this year and Smith would be better than Ellis for this years team. I'm also fine trading for Reddick, but not with our first round picks. That's just dumb.
  4. I can't stand Izzo or Crean and I've hated IU for a very long time. I guess in the grand scheme of things, I'm cheering for MSU. Only because we play them again and could give them a loss, whereas I really only see Indiana losing to Michigan the rest of the way. I'm cheering for a brawl though. I just can't bring myself to cheer for either of them basically ever.
  5. The prices are higher because the Brewers are implementing demand based pricing. Which means that ticket prices rise and fall depending on how many people want them. So for some games, there will be some very, very cheap seats and for others prices are going to be almost double face value (like the terrace reserved for Opening Day). I had no issues with the waiting room or the ticket selection/paying process. That just sounds like horribly bad luck.
  6. We could throw the max at Smith (more than any other team if we had him already) and we'd have a ton of cap room, so it's not impossible that he'd resign. And if you're dumping Ellis for him (who is going to leave anyways), it's not a big deal.
  7. The 40 man spot isn't a problem. Gamel will be going to the 60 day DL for sure. Though I'm not sure when exactly they can do that.
  8. After Gasser's injury I thought finishing .500 in conference would have been an amazing achievement. Can't believe they are still sort of in the running for the title (although not likely to happen). Bo just said, well our offense might struggle but we will shut any one down and keep it close. If they could be just average offensively they have potential to go on a run in the tourney with that defense. Man, if Gasser hadn't gotten hurt....oh well. The success they've had has really been stunning to me. Gasser gets hurt. They stuggle mightly in non-conference, losing to Virginia, getting smoked by Florida. Barely beat the two worst Big Ten teams to start the year and I know I stated that with the brutal Big Ten this year, that they likely would miss the tournament or be hard pressed to make it as one of the last teams in. The fact that we're sitting here with 6 games left, the Badgers are 8-4 in Conference (wtih wins at Indiana, Michigan and Ohio State) and are a virtually lock to make the tournament at this point is just downright hard for me to believe. I'm happy of course, but this just came out of nowhere IMO. As long as they take care of business against the bad teams, they will finish top 4 again and likely a 4-5-6 seed in the tournament. Easily Bo's best coaching job to me...the roster isn't that good, the Gasser injury, etc. Sure, they have droughts and aren't a great team, but they've won games and thats all that matters. Buzz Williams deserves props too when you consider who they lost last year, to be right there in the Big East (and quite frankly with a real chance to win it) is very impressive as well. If they win the games they should, they should easily finish near the top too.
  9. I think I got exceptionally lucky, as I clicked in right at 9 and it let me in to buy tickets immediately. The guy next to me at work did at the same time and wound up waiting for almost 10 minutes and when he got in, he got seemingly the last 2 seats together. I wound up with 4 together in the Terrace Reserved, not horribly bad seats. One of them is obstructed, I assume by a railing, but I'm pretty pleased and feel very lucky.
  10. There are rumors swirling around about the Bucks being interested in Josh Smith of the Hawks. Sounds like it would be Ellis or Jennings and one of our big guys for Smith. Smith is a talent that the Bucks don't have. He can create his own shot from the wing or post. Decent defender.
  11. If it's a silver bat (looks brown to me, though the butt of it is silver looking I guess) and it has a 40 on it, it would be much better. I wish it looked more like him though.
  12. What does this mean for our outfield? Gamel was slotted for the 5th OF spot was he not? Who is going to fill that role now?
  13. Pretty unimpressed with that one. Looks very little like him and it only signifies the 30 steals. What about a 40/30 club reference? That one just seems pretty plain and boring to me. If you're going to do yet another Braun one, it should be for something special IMO.
  14. Are there any realistic FA options still around? I know Carlos Lee is around, and I like him, but are there any 1b/OF types. Would fill the role that Gamel was going to play.
  15. Opening Day has become more or less a holiday in this state. It wasn't always that way, seems like it just happened in the last 10 years or so, but the Brewer are maximizing profits on this one. Just think about what they cost on the secondary market if those are the face values.
  16. Would it pay to login early or does it not really trigger anything to happen until 9?
  17. The guys I watch it with are all busy tonight and I can't justify the cost for just myself, so I likely will have to skip this one. I wish there were bars in the Waukesha area that had it. The only one I can think of is Romines, and it's always packed and a long way from my house. Anyone know of any other places that will show it? Or anywhere online I can watch it...you know, for not much money?
  18. I'll be very unhappy if I get stuck in the waiting room. First time I've ever won and if I can't buy any tickets I will be very annoyed.
  19. Dempster I would have been fine with - he's been pretty consistent the last few years and he wouldn't have cost us a draft pick. Lohse just screams of a guy that pitched way over his head and is due to bomb at some point. Not to mention giving up a pick.
  20. Nice win for Marquette yesterday. If they shoot the ball from the outside that well come the tournament, they are going to be exceptionally hard to beat. They're a team that could be trouble regardless, the way they play and the athletes they have will make them a tough opponent to prepare for in a short amount of time. I've really been stunned at just how much better Vander Blue has gotten. Hopefully WI can do the same thing today...take care of a ranked team at home. They don't matchup all that well with Ohio St unfortunately, but they are amazingly 4 point favorites. Hopefully they can win so I can forget about the MN debacle.
  21. Lol, thats a very valid point. And really, the ones that I'm getting the tickets for probably care about the tailgate as much as the game itself. We have 8 in our 20 pack, and those people obviously like going to the games. Every year I have another 6-8 people as me if we have opening day extras, more or less just to be par of the party. I almost always say no but figure I'll try the lottery just in case but I've never actually won before. And really, I could care less where they sit They won't be by me...
  22. If I could wind up with two sets of two or four together, virtually anywhere, that would be great. But if they wind up with standing room seats, I could care less. I'm way too nice to my friends I think :/
  23. I think that's to be somewhat expected. As long as it's just soreness, it's really not a big deal.
  24. I actually won the lottery too...first time ever. Just hoping I can get two tickets together somewhere. If not, I suppose standing room only would be the next best option? They aren't for me, I have them in my package but some of my friends want to go. If it were you, would you rather have a single seat somewhere or standing room only?
  25. My guess is because ESPN wants so very badly to wipe the egg of of their faces after last year. Releasing that info on Bruan, writing articles ripping him for cheating, only to win his appeal. ESPN wants to prove themselves as right IMO, hence why they are pushing it so hard with very little. The newspaper itself had all the documents correct? They had this list with Braun on it and didn't release it...why? Because it doesn't show anything, there are no peds attached to his name, the list isn't labeled "people that owe me for PED's" it's just a list.
