  1. I undestand the tickets bounce around, but I don't feel we picked that many games that should have been that bad. We only picked 2 bobblehead games for example. It is what it is, I just wasn't expecting them to be that bad after where they were last season. What kinda sucks is that we have the upgrade vouchers, but there are so few eligible games, that I'll be forced to move some of our better seats to upgrade them. Oh well.
  2. The Kings are bad, but we were without 2 starters and Redick. Getting the win was a huge thing, especially with some tough games coming up here soon. Need all 3 of those guys to get healthy in a hurry. Man did that get close at the end though, seems like the Bucks relaxed and it almost burned them. Still a game and a half out of the 7 seed, behind Atlanta and Boston. 2 games behind Chicago.
  3. The fact that Jackson made a tough shot really covers up the fact that Mike Bruesewitz once again screwed up an inbounds pass with the game on the line....TWICE. He traveled on an in bounds against MN, when we were up 2 with 20 seconds left. They tie it, we lose. Today, he throws it clear out of bounds up 2, they tie it. Then on the ensuing inbounds, he rolls it when Jackson was clearly expecting a hard pass he could run with, and we were exceptionally lucky to still have the arrow. He's a senior, with plenty of experience and these types of mistakes just simply can't happen. It's hard for me to cheer for IU right now, but it would be nice to finish top 4 again, get the bye and avoid a rematch with PSU, who very clearly could have beaten WI today.
  4. This is a must win game right? And this is the lineup? I found his lineup to be odd the whole time but this just isn't a good lineup in an elimination game.
  5. I looked mine up online and my seats are substantially worse than last year. Same number of seats. I know the fans choice seats are filled after the pre-selected packages, but my seats are a good 4-5 sections worse than they were last year. Disappointing. In theory, as you get more priority points, seats should get better, not worse.
  6. Yeah, that GB game was a brutal way for a season to end. Up 4 with 10 seconds left. Ouch. Marquette won a share of the title, yes. Still pretty impressive regardless. The team was barely picked to finish in the top half of the conference this year. Great job by Buzz Williams. They do still seem to struggle closing out games. I can think of at least 3 times now....the game at Pitt, yesterday and the game against Georgetown where I thought for sure the game was over, only to have them basically hand it back to a team. Two of those went to OT and they were fortunate enough to win, but I'd like to see them finish teams off. Still a big win. Hopefully the Badgers can remember how to put the ball in the basket today.
  7. I think the "new" Big East has some really good potential to be a very, very solid basketball conference. You have the 7 current schools, with the additions of Butler, Xavier and by all accounts probably Creighton. With St. Louis and I've heard Dayton in a year or two to make a 12 team conference. They still get the Big East name, the MSG exposure, National TV on Fox. It's a good move for MU, they had no real choice as football rules everything these days. I also think MU should very easily be in the top 10 next year. They bring back pretty much everyone other than Cadugan and Otule (who could get a 6th year). They have a fantastic recruiting class (on paper) and all the seniors should hopefully improve and provide leadership to the young kids.
  8. Not to derail the thead, but I've thought that about bobbleheads for years. Sundays is usually going to be a pretty good attendance day, whereas weeknight games, especially in April/May struggle. Why not put a desired promotion on different days of the week? It doesn't make much sense.
  9. He has virtually zero coaching experience. And while a few guys have done it, they were much younger and thought of as "smart players", like Doc Rivers and Avery Johnson. He's been out of the NBA for way too long, is too old and forced his way out of Milwaukee - and some great teams here. No thanks. He wants to be an assistant, sure, no problem. Head coach? I'll pass.
  10. I guess the trade off is that if they lose, you stay in Bernie's Terrace, which are really, really bad seats. But if they do win at least 2-3 of the 10 games, you'd wind up "winning" the deal. 1 win - Terrace Reserved 2 wins - Terrace Box Anything after that is obviously worth more than the $10 a game you're paying.
  11. He's not exactly young any more. I'd be leery of making someone a first time NBA head coach at that age. Is he really going to relate to guys 40 years younger than him as well as he thinks?
  12. Yeah, the upgrade vouchers are only good on non-premium, week day games. We have the fans choice package and have exactly 4 eligible games. Still easier than trying to figure out which of the 8 of us get an autographed ball. I do like it though, as it's nice to sit in some different areas of the stadium from time to time. I just wish I could have done that electronically instead of having to send tickets back and forth this close to the season.
  13. I can't see him staying. He's already doing national broadcasts in other sports. And if the new Fox Sports channel wants their own guy, it might very well be him. Good call JB. Though as of right now, I think the only sports they have for sure is the Catholic 7 basketball, so I guess he could do that and still work with the Brewers and FSN. I really didn't like BA much to begin with but he's grown on me and watching other games on Extra Innings, he's head and shoulders above many, many others.
  14. I didn't choose the autograph ball option this year (it's hard to split that amongst 8 guys), but I did do it one previous year when they offered it. Basically you went to the stadium and they had the players split up, sitting at stations on the field. You went to your designated player, got his autograph, maybe had 30 seconds with him and that was it. They were letting people take pictures though. Thats about it. As far as getting the ticket upgrade vouchers, those come with your tickets and you have to send them back in to get the upgrades - sort of annoying. I wish they let you select the upgraded games when you picked the tickets, it would save a lot of time and hassle.
  15. Still about 16 minutes left but Marquette is playing some awful basketball tonight. It's reminding me exactly of the WI game on Sunday. They just like they are going through the motions against a very bad team...Rutgers is under .500. Edit: Unlike the Badgers, Marquette got it together and came back to win and avoid the embarassing loss. Indiana just lost to OSU at home. Had the Badgers not blown it against Purdue or Minn, they'd have real title hopes. Bummer. Also now need a win at MSU or an upset to keep the top 4 streak alive.
  16. As much as I despise Heyman, I do believe he probably has some sources that could allow him to make a statement like that. So thats good news.
  17. It's possible this just happened recently, but to this point, Braun certainly isn't acting like someone on the verge of a 50 game suspension. He stated in late January that he was enjoying a "quiet and uneventful off season". He stated that he would help in any way possible with MLB's investigation into the Bosch thing. If he figured he was getting suspended for a failed drug test, why keep trying to maintain your image? Why keep trying to fool everyone if you knew you failed another test? Doesn't make sense. It's possible that MLB is planning on suspending them for the Bosch situation but I haven't seen Granderson or Cano linked to that place at all, and based on a piece of paper, that would seem impossible without more evidence.
  18. Stating the obvious here, but to have any chance of getting to the second round, they need to find their way out of the 8 seed. They are currently 1 game behind Boston for the 7 spot (we have the tie breaker). 2.5 games behind Atlanta. and 3 games behind Brooklyn and Chicago (those two losses to the Nets a couple weeks back loom large). Making up 2-3 games in the next 24 games isn't impossible but they'll have to keep winning. Unforutnately, the Bucks have a tough schedule here. Still play Miami and OKC twice, also have games with the Clippers, Pacers, Knicks, Nuggets and THREE against the Hawks.
  19. The followup doesn't say much, other than something about him not being a journalist and that he's not credible but that it doesn't mean he is wrong. I guess only time will tell, but it sure seems fishy to me. All of it.
  20. It seems a tad far fetched that all 4 of those guys would get caught at the same time. If they were busted last season, they'd have announced it at all. Are they tested in the off season? Even so, the appeals process likely would have been finished by now right? Last year the Braun appeal was over at the end of February. Unless they all JUST failed a test when camp opened, but again, that seems unlikely. It still makes me very very nervous though. If Braun was stupid enough to keep taking PED's (if he was in the first place) after winning his first appeal, only to fail again, he deserves to be suspended. The guy being right on Cabrera has me nervous, but it just doesn't seem right.
  21. I really like the 3 guards playing together - though it's a pretty big problem on the defensive side. Only two games, but maybe Jennings is starting to realize that when he looks to pass first and not force shots, he's a much, much better player. 19 and 17 assists in his last two games.
  22. If the Bucks resign Redick, and he continues to play at a level that he has this year, the trade might be alright. If he leaves and we gave up Harris for a rental, it's going to be tough to swallow. Harris looked decent in the limited PT he got last year and this year, he dominated the summer leagues and he was only 20 years old. The fact that Daniels got lots of minutes ahead of him was a joke. It's just another example of the Bucks making incredibly short sighted moves. You thought enough of him to draft him in the middle of the first round 2 years ago, even though he was only 18 years old. He looks ok in limited PT and from all accounts, was developing relatively well in practice, was a good teammate, etc. Then without really giving him much of a chance, you ship him off less than 2 years later for a rental. Harris could suck, he could also turn into a very good player ala Sanders. You don't just dump first round picks like that unless they clearly show they can't play (see Joe Alexander).
  23. Not sure what happened yesterday, after the hot start, it was like someone flipped a switch and it was over. Purdue is not a good team and they completely outworked and out hustled the Badgers in the last 25 minutes. UW simply doesn't have enough talent for that to happen. Bad, bad loss. Ends the Big Ten title hopes, definitely hurts their seeding as Purdue is under .500 and it COULD drop them out of the top 4 of the Big Ten if some other games don't go their way. Surprising to say the least. We'll see how they perform at MSU, hopefully they compete. Hopefully they didn't peak too early.
  24. Even IF Gamel didn't rehab properly or has off-season conditioning problems (I'm not saying he did) but let's just assume thats the case....a Dr. still had to examine that knee multiple times and clear him to participate in drills. Which either was a mistake or it just simply got reinjured. Thats a horrible break for Gamel, but it happens. People get injured. Just because his injuries come in ST doesn't mean he doesn't do what's expected in the off season. Could it mean that? Sure, it's possible, but to just assume that isn't correct or fair to Gamel. Arm strength on the other hand should be something Marcum was doing all year long. And maybe he was and it wasn't working right, but the fact that you need 3 weeks of ST to do arm strengthen drills is very odd IMO.
  25. Sounds like Vlad is just looking for a minor league deal. I'm not sure if he still has it or not, but he could potentially be a backup OF with pop. Someone will bring him in for a minor league deal I'd assume.
