I agree that Gasser isn't great, but he's not terrible. Nobody is calling him the best player on the roster, but he is a useful player. And he is much, much better than Jarmusz ever was. But you're taking games against good teams and saying he played bad. And maybe he did, I'm not going to refute that, but to simply look at his scoring totals doesn't tell the whole story. For starters, he's very secure with the basketball, only 43 turnovers in 36 games (in over 1200 minutes), thats just over one turnover a game from a guy on the floor a majority of games. In comparison, Jackson this year I believe has 62 turnovers in roughly the same amount of minutes. Granted, Jackson is handling the ball more than Gasser probably did, but thats still a lot of turnovers. Roughly two a game. And you're right, his scoring totals weren't great, especially in those games you pointed out, but it's not like he's ever been asked to score. Last year there were 5 guys on the roster that shot more than he did - Taylor, Bergerron, Evans, Bruiser and Brust. However, Gasser shot the highest percentage on both FG attempts (46.4%) and 3 point FG attempts (45.2%). He's also an almost 80 percent FT shooter. I'm not going to take the time to look it up, but he probably shot even less the year before with Leuer and Nankivil on the roster as well. I think people are thinking that when he is finally asked to take on a bigger scoring role as a senior, that he will be more than capable based on his percentages and the fact that he's more or less taken a backseat to other players based upon the system and how the team was setup. When he did shoot last year, he was very effective based on the numbers. Again, I don't think he's great, but I do think he'll be more than capable of being a solid player that can contribute on the offensive end much more than he has in the past.
