  1. Diamond Stone is ranked #2 in the entire class of 2015. He grades out as a 95 out of 100, with of course a full 5 stars. He's only 15 I believe, and he's already 6'10, 250. He currently has offers from big time schools like Indiana, Arizona, UCLA, Gtown and of course Marquette and Wisconsin. He also has been linked to Kentucky, Duke and UNC - but doesn't have an offer from them yet. So yeah, it seems unlikely that he'd stay in state (think Tokoto for example) but the fact that he's from here at least gives the in state schools a chance. You never know, some guys really want to stay close to home or have always dreamed of being a Badger for example (think Dekker or Devin Harris). So while it's unlikely, it's not impossible. He's still awfully young, so a lot could depend on how the teams do next year. Both could be good, Marquette has a ton of in state top talent coming in next year (including a teammate of his) so you never know. As far as this years teams go...the Badgers will likely ultimately be doomed in by their inconsistent offense and/or their horrible FT shooting. Also, Ryan Evans apparently injured his knee in practice yesterday. No more information has been released other than he was able to walk off and is "day to day". Bad timing with senior day on Sunday. I've ripped Evans a lot this year, but his rebounding and defense would be a big loss...as would the loss of depth. Hopefully it's nothing serious but he did apparently scream out in pain loud enough for reports (who weren't allowed in yet) to hear him.
  2. Gamel retore his ACL, I don't think thats the same thing as Marcum not having any arm strength. Maybe Gamel slacked in rehab, but a doctor had to clear him to take the field. In his case, it probably wasn't fully healed yet or he just got really, really unlucky. With Marcum, arm strength is something he could have done on his own, given how his arm more or less faded away two years ago and then he had arm troubles last year, you'd have though that would be a priority for him. The fact that he's pulled out for 3 weeks makes me even more comfortable in saying that the Brewers knew his arm was shot, hence why we made no attempt to resign him for a few million dollars.
  3. I think if we could be assured that his next two years would be like his last two years, people would probably be all for it. The problem is nobody believes that. His previous years were average at best, and while his overall numbers from the last two years look good on paper, his peripheral numbers seem to contradict that, which makes many people here believe that he was more or less lucky the last two years and is in line for a big time return to his career norms or worse. He's also going from a relatively pitcher friendly park with a pretty good defense behind him, to a hitters park with a poor to average defense (and he's a flyball pitcher to boot). Throw in the fact that he's 34 already and the fact that we'd have to give up our pick for him and that is enough for most of us to just say no. Could he pitch great for us and duplicate his last two years? Sure, he could. But the numbers seem to suggest otherwise and for the cost, length of contract and draft pick loss, it just doesn't seem to make much sense.
  4. I think Henson will be a good defender in time. He has the natural shot blocking ability, he just seems to be slow in recognizing whats happening. I think they can work with him on that, and also to get him bigger. He has looked very good offensively when they actually play him. As for the 2008 draft, I lost it when we took Alexander over Brook Lopez. I literally threw my remote across the room. Hammonds reasoning? We already have Bogut. Right, because you couldn't possibly play them both together ala Duncan and Robinson? It was a horrible draft pick and an even worse explanation. I'm still not over it as Lopez has been good, even an all star and the guy we picked was out of the league 2 years later. Pretty exciting games the last couple nights. Jennings should be buying Ellis some lunch today, because Jennings really sucked on that last play. Created no space and didn't give it up until the last possible second, only have Ellis make a ridiculous off balance, one foot fadaway from 26 feet away as time expired.
  5. Anderson is simply that...a BIG dude. He looks the part, but he's just not very good or athletic. I don't know if they thought he would develop but he simply never has. He got some minutes earlier this year when Kaminski was out and Bergerron got in foul trouble (can't recall which game) but he looked awful. Things could change, but he seems to be nothing more than bench filler/backup at this point. Meaningful minutes from him seem unlikely. Dukan maybe, he at least looks like he has a decent chance, but even still, he very rarely sees the court. From watching the videos of Hayes and Brown, they both look pretty skilled and not so much as projects. There are definitely minutes available at PF and C to be had next year.
  6. Only 1 guy in the recruiting class? Next years recruiting class is one of the better ones Bo has put together. Per Scout.com, 1 four star player in Koenig (PG), and 3 three-star players in Dearing (SF), Brown (PF) and Hayes (PF). Plus another unranked recruit, Jordan Hill. Those last two (Brown and Hayes) aren't quite as big as Bergerron is but they are both listed as 6'8. Considering how thin the Badgers bench is this year and how many minutes will be available, I think some of those guys very well might see minutes right away. Dekker and Kaminski step into starting roles, and then who knows after that. But Bo will have talent (albeit young) to go along with Dekker, Gasser, Jackson, etc. It should be a solid team. As far as the Big Ten title chase goes, that Minnesota loss is going to come back to haunt them. That was a definite win that we gave away. We have to win out now to have any chance. We have certainly shown that we CAN win on the road against tough teams, and we easily could have beaten MSU at home, but that's a tough one. We should be heavily favored in the other ones. IU still has Iowa and OSU at home and then at Michigan. I doubt they lose two of those, but it's not impossible I guess. If Wisconsin won a share of the conference title AND won the Big Ten Tournament, I'd say they are no worse than a 3 seed. They are right on the 4/5 line right now. Throw in a win at MSU, and then beating two of the following in the tournament...Indiana, OSU, MSU, Mich, Illinois, Minn...I don't see how they wouldn't move up to a 3.
  7. Evans is solid defensively and on the boards, but with his struggles offensively, he just needs to stop shooting so much. I cringe every time he shoots. He's obviously brutal on the offensive end this year, yet continues to take 8-12 shots per game, thats just too many.
  8. So...let's say he's 7 million. And Jennings is who knows, 10-12...that's 20 million for those 2 in the backcourt. Is that worth it? We can have lots of cap room, especially if they amnesty Gooden, but still. You're going to have to resign Sanders, Ersan has a big deal, throw in those 2, is that a good enough 4some to really build around? Doesn't seem like it is to me really. In a report filed late Tuesday night, Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports cites "sources" as saying Redick's agent, Arn Tellem, is likely to ask for a four-year deal worth $40 million for his client. Orlando, according to Wojnarowski, would be willing to re-sign him that would pay him "near the mid-level exception of $5 million per year." The Yahoo! scribe spoke with several league general managers who believe Redick will ultimately land a deal paying him $7 million annually.
  9. I think most of us agree it does make the Bucks better THIS year...you got rid of 3 guys that rarely played and picked up Redick, who can really help the team. But doing so just wasn't worth giving up Harris and Lamb IMO. Regardless of who they play as the 7 seed, they will stil be pretty significant underdogs. Sure, it's better than matching up with Miami in round one, but if all the trade does is get you to be a slightly smaller underdog in the first round, is it really worth giving up two young players for 30 games of Redick? Harris is only and didn't look all that lost out there when he actually saw the court. This is basically the same as trading Larry Sanders last year. He was young, unpolished but really never got to play. This is a move a contending team makes, to add a piece that could possibly put them over the top. Not a .500 team trying to avoid the lottery and the 8 seed.
  10. So there is now an article on CBS saying that Gio Gonzalez got tested 2 days after the story came out and that his test came back negative. Uh...ok. Did other players get tested? Where are their stories of being clean? Did Braun give a sample? I find it ridiculous that they will do everything to clear Gonzalez but without any evidence, they've just let all the other players hang out to try. I'm guessing lots of guys give samples when they report to Spring Training.
  11. A Redick/Jennings backcourt wouldn't be that bad going forever, but I just don't see Redick resigning. And if he does along with Jennings, how much money are we paying them? I just don't see it. Regardless of that, we'd still have way, way too many forwards and a mid teens draft slot...again.
  12. Redick COULD help this team...if we didn't have Ellis and a very similar player in Dunleavy. If he were signed next year, this would make more sense, but he's not. And like patrick stated, we gave up two 20 year old draft picks that barely ever saw the floor. It just makes no sense at all.
  13. Why trade the two young guys? Even if we resign Redick, this doesn't help much. I had read numerous times we only wanted Redick if we got Smith. Now I'm seeing that we had a deal in place for Smith but Atlanta may have pulled out at the last second. This is just a horrible move. Harris is only 20, how can he be a bust already? He's barely gotten a chance to play. On top of that, how can all 3 of those guards get enough minutes and enough shots to be happy? This only made sense if they had traded Ellis to the Hawks at the same time. Was Hammond really dumb enough to pull the trigger to get Redick and then get hosed by the Hawks? Better question is how the %@#$@$ does he still have a job?
  14. This is utterly disappointing. So now we have Jennings, Ellis and Redick, but no Josh Smith. ***. And we give up on Harris before ever really giving him a chance to play. Glad we used a first rounder on him. According to Ken Berger of CBSSports.com, J.J. Redick is being dealt to Milwaukee. Yahoo Sports reports the Magic receive Doron Lamb, Beno Udrih and Tobias Harris
  15. Those jerseys are just horrible. They wore them at least one other time this year. It's like an off white, with white/cream color lettering and almost no red color whatsoever. I hate them but if they play like they did last night, they might as well wear them every game. The NW court looks horrendous. I know you want to incorporate purple, but that was just way, way too much.
  16. Green has never really gotten a full fledged consistent playing time gig. He has struggled mightly in his at bats, but it's not like he started for any long stretches. Then he goes down and hits in AAA again. Maybe he's a AAAA player, but I think this is a perfect spot to let him try. Just my opinion.
  17. I don't know if I want them to or not. They didn't publish Braun, so that could be a good thing...maybe there is nothing there or maybe there is something there than can prove his innocence. On the other hand, I think MLB has it out for him and may try to suspend him OR they could actually find more info and have a real reason to suspend him (seems unlikely given that the paper didn't publish him but who knows).
  18. Now it's that Monta Ellis won't be part of the deal, who knows. I think it's all made up at this point anyways.
  19. This is the latest I found... Adrian Wojnarowski ✔ @WojYahooNBA Hawks, Bucks seriously talking on Josh Smith deal, sources tell Y! Monta Ellis, Ekpe Udoh among players discussed for Smith, Devin Harris Also then says in the article that we'd make a run at Reddick. I'm not sure why we want Harris? In case we don't get another guard? Harris is ok, be cool to have him here but I don't know why we'd want him? He would be a FA at the end of the year, so I guess it's not a big deal really.
  20. I had forgotten about the RVD thing. Yeah, so this certainly is bad. No PPV's in between, so they'd have to come up with some other way to replace him at Mania, though that shouldnt be that hard to do if they really want to. Either have him get "hurt" or have someone challenge him and take his spot. As far as Ziggler goes, his time has definitely been here for awhile. He's great on the mic, great in the ring...just not sure what they are waiting for. They gave him the MITB for a reason, just don't know why he still hasn't used it. Gotta be coming.
  21. Glad we were wrong Hawing, it helps when NW can't score, but we just physically dominate them at every position and got the easy win. It's not often this Badger team is so much better athletically than an opponent like this. We were just so much bigger and destroyed them on the glass.
  22. We'd be able to give Smith more money than anyone else so we could maybe resign him. And if we get rid of Gooden (amnesty!!), we'd have money for him and Jennings. You can almost afford 3 max contracts on one roster (see Miami). I don't think that would be very wise, as neither is worth a max contract, especially Jennings....but it could happen. If we give up first round picks and they both leave, we better win the title this year, as we'll be horrible for a long time, with no draft picks to help the cause. They shouldn't be doing anything for this year regardless. If the last two nights are any indication, this season is a lost cause. Last night they let NJ hit a 3 to tie it with 1 second left, then lost in OT. Tonight they hold a 8-9 point lead to start the 4th and then promptly go 2-16 in the 4th quarter so far and are down 6 with 3 min left. Not how you want to start your playoff push after the AS break (barring a comeback here).
  23. Maybe, I dunno if WWE cares all that much about weed. But it's sure a stupid move on his part given the chance his career is getting. If this means Ziggler gets his spot somehow, I'm all for it.
  24. If it comes down to that, I'd rather just let Green get extended playing time and see what happens. Have Ramirez play 1b against some tough lefties perhaps, with Gonzalez filling in at 3b. Ishikawa was just not very good last year.
  25. So the new rumor is that the Bucks really want Smith, but Smith apparently stated that HE wants to play with Jennings and Ellis. So I don't really know how the Bucks could make that work. Ellis was the main piece going back to the Hawks in the first place. If it did happen, we might actually be solid the rest of the year but all 3 of them would be FA's and at best we'd resign one of them probably. http://fansided.com/2013/02/20/nba-trade-rumors-milwaukee-bucks-trying-to-acquire-josh-smith/
