  1. Precisely why I added it here and not the Minor League FA thread😅. They've invested 8 years into this trajectory. There is no world I live in as a Brewers fan where Ernesto isn't simply a Bauers-level roster experiment next season on the 40-Man. And, it truly does feel like he is just scratching the surface and coming into his own. He has already proven he has the plate discipline evolving at a very admirable rate. Just put him on the 40-Man and let's be done with it.
  2. Spencer has given us some more goods on these higher ranked signings mentioned by Hogg:
  3. As Daniel mentions above, stay current in our Winter League Threads (Aussie-Land, Dominican, Venezuela etc.), the AFL, the Rule Five Protections (and unprotected decisions), Minor League Free Agent signings, and the International Free Agent Market (January 2025). I just made a new thread pinned atop the 'MLB Draft & International Signings' Forum HERE featuring this lil juicy nugget from JSOnline Brewers Beat Curt Hogg: Our Link Reports stop but the season never really ends. 😅
  4. No time better than the present to get this going. We have some early rumors of possible Top 50 signings imminent for the Crew:
  5. - RHP Enoli Paredes, who had been DFA'd by the Brewers last week in a roster shuffling sequence, has been claimed by the Chicago Cubs
  6. I thought Quay played a very solid game yesterday. I know Cooper got some pressure knifing through that Line (man, he's a missile) but behind all that action toward their backfield, Quay really handled the action quite well - passing off crossers and guarding the check downs in the flat. Can he carry that over to a much tougher test next week? Also, Tucker Kraft is such an exciting player. So grateful they grabbed him. What a complete TE.
  7. Ballpark factors meant very very little in EBJ's 2024 offensive struggles. By my eyes, I saw three swing changes in-season. The second being the most egregious as it had nuanced moving parts needing to synch like a finely tuned Swiss watch to simply put a barrel on the ball. Before he had moved to the 7-Day at season's end he had completely simplified his pre-swing load to a basic bat on shoulders-like approach - 'See ball. Hit ball'. Off the top of my head, this happened over the final 2 weeks (?) This is likely where he will want to continue working and tweaking his mechanics. This is all a long-winded way of saying: his old swing didn't work at Double-A. His new swing definitely didn't work at Double-A. I have hopes his simplified swing will, in the least, give him a chance to find some success. I don't have the data in front of me, but I recall EBJ hitting far too many pop-ups with fairly weak exit velo throughout his second half (I'm too old n wearied to think back to the Shuckers first half - OR maybe I conscientiously chose to forget that half entirely <shivers uncontrollably>😅).
  8. What. A. Season. I mean this is literallly a historic showing in his first year as a Brewer.
  9. Wes Clarke solo Johnson. His 18th as a Sound in 2024! 11-0 Sounds.
  10. 2/3 IP and 2 K for LHP Bryan Hudson. Does he pitch another frame?
  11. Epic way to finish, men! LOVE this' Man, Roller had an awesome September. Good for him!
  12. We can be near certain to see LHP Bryan Hudson get one more stint to work on that sweeper. This is day 4 removed from his last appearance. Mcgee is more than likely shooting for a 2.0-3.0 IP start (he did pitch a season high 3 2/3 IP back in early August) in what is essentially a rehab year coming off that TJ last spring. Let's hope he ends strong! One has to think McWilliams was called up as, generally, a fresh arm to handle a late inning in this bullpen special. Beyond that, I have to think McKendry is available as a possible inning-eater and RHP Shane Smith will likely appear for his last work of the 2024 regular season. Big moment for Yerzy in what has essentially been a lost season.
  13. Two men on and the Sounds have added a run in the top of the 9th. They lead 6-1. Really nice to see them turn it around after a heartbreaking two-game double-header loss and then the bullpen meltdown (of sorts) in game 3. Assuming they hold on, they now have a chance to end their season with a series split. Would be awesome to end on a three game win streak.
  14. Could certainly happen. I just look at the double-function angle of getting in good graces with high-end players or coveted end-of-roster candidates who need Rule 5 protection, regardless. Patrick, Henderson, and Martinez Jr. all fit that bill. I lean Patrick given he's been phenomenal in the past 3 starts. He's K'd 6 tonight already through 4 IP working around a Solo Jack from a rehabbing Westburg (they're playing the Tides - Orioles Triple-A affiliate). That's 26 K over the past 16 IP with 1 ER allowed. Stellar output. Getting hot at the perfect time. Patrick is very much a guy who could repeat what we're seeing with Myers in 2025. Doesn't have the high-end velo Myers has but has a deeper pitch mix with a fabulous cutter.
  15. Mejía has very sneakily had a fantastic season at the dish as a rotation backstop with the Sounds. It has been a joy having both he and Navs as the primary backstops in the second half.
  16. This outing further confirms for me: Patrick is likely the call-up. He can pitch in the final weekend of the Brewers regular season. He faces the Pirates on the last game of a 3-game series or he is a starter or middle innings eater vs the Mets who they may face in the WC round. He is then on-roster and avoids Rule 5 entirely.
  17. Naturally, Westburg gets his revenge: Solo jack to open the 3rd. 1-1 game.
  18. RHP Chad Patrick has now K'd 24 batters over his last 14 IP as a starter. 0 ER. 5 H, 1 BB over that same span. Absolutely en fuego.
  19. This is awesome btw. It is so abundantly obvious Hunt is different. He wants those big moments. He talks about talking with his Dad pre-game (he was in the stands) about needing to find his edge. He felt he wasn't as sharp the past couple outings. He sought it out. He was at the field, showered, and in full uniform 2.5 hours before the game warming up in the bullpen. He is a special special arm to have in the system. Credits the Brewers org for helping him evolve into a Starter. He is very excited for next season.
  20. Tyler Black goes yard for the first time since August 27th (and his 13th of his season). Sounds lead 1-0.
