  1. Corniel opens the 6th with a weakly hit single down the 3B line. That'll like be his night. The run of excellence will end. Man, what a gritty performance! Hats are off, young man. We see you.
  2. Cornielle gets up 0-2. Ball in the dirt doesn't get the check swing strike. Rodriguez back checks 1B but he's safe. 1-2 count. Outside slider fouled off to 3B side. Another slider low. He gets the foul down the 1B side. Nivens is a major threat. This is as tough as it gets in High-A as a pitcher. He is a major long ball threat in this second half. Pitch count now at 81. 1-2 count. Breaking ball high and outside. Fouled back again into the stands beyond 3B. 8 pitch battle now. Heater high and inside. Fouled hard down the 1B line. WHewwww. 9-pitch AB now. Change-up tailing low inside. Fouled down the 1B line. 6 consecutive fouls. 10 pitches coming. Pitch count over 85. High outside heater. 2-2. What an AB. He gets the K swinging on a gorgeous inside slider. Whewwwwww. Fifth K.
  3. Cornielle, pitch count now at 72 in the fifth., opens his inning with two straight ground outs. Opens next batter to an 0-2 count - K swinging inside heater. K looking gorgeous change-up. Corks a ball into the dirt and it bounces 13 feet in the air. 1-2. Bloop snort into shallow right CF. Man on.
  4. That's now 4 straight K for this Nats reliever. He's mowing em down.
  5. He absolutely does this. He's prone to bad innings. It's a matter of how bad. But, he can absolutely shut it down like this. You just never know how bad that one inning will be. Just a major credit to him for his resilience and ability to come back ripping darts.
  6. Next batter? Two swinging K's on sliders. 0-2 count. Disengagement by Green (standard by him). Pitch count 78. Slider. Weak ground out to Guilarte. Three up. Three down!
  7. 5 pitches. Two outs for Corniel in the 5th. This is potentially HUGE.
  8. Corniel is dealing. 8th K (swinging after he also got a slider sword). 4-of-5 of his past outs Punch Outs.
  9. Corniel indeed back out for the 5th. Pitch count at 71. Short leash in hand.
  10. Ramsey doesn't allow long balls. 4 HR in 89 IP on the year. Last HR allowed? July 9th. WHewwwwwww. Areinamo. Definitiely MY guy. Y'all know it. Been hyping that young man for two years. Dang that felt GOOD!!!!
  11. 3- up. 3-down. Mudcats all K. 1 looking. 2 swinging.
  12. Holy hyeck he crushed that ball. WOuld have hit the ferris wheel for crying out loud. IT DID hit the ferris wheel. 😅
  13. Man, I know we haven't seen the power results with Dinges. BUT, I absolutely love this young man's approach at the dish. I don't care about the results. AND, Areinamo!!!!!
  14. Cornielle works around the walk, SB (and throwing error to put the runner at 3B) and gets the lazy pop out behind home plate. Four scoreless for Cornielle.
  15. What. An. Inning. From Corniel. Your offense pumps out a six-run game-taking lead in the top half. You K 2 swinging and get a ground out to 1B? Heck yes, young man! LOVE it! Lift your team up baby!
  16. Corniel gets the ground out to 1B for the 2nd out. Nice smooth gather and step on the bag by Bitonti.
  17. Cornielle with another free pass in the 4th. One down. Man on. That's three walks I've noticed on my second screen.
  18. Corniel starts his 4th K'ng the lead-off on a gorgeous heater on the outer black. Swinging K.
  19. My guy Navs. Cap'n Clutch. Like I say. Don't pay attention to the peripherals. He hits when it matters.
  20. Baez grounds into a force out at 3B. On to the bottom half. Let's see if Corniel comes back aboard or Stanley dips into his relief corps. Gotta think he'll stay with Corniel and give him the opportunity to pitch one more.
  21. Man, those were sweet pokes. Every one of those was a beautiful piece of hitting. Guilarte and Yophery's AB's were so choice.
  22. Muddies drove Clemmey in the 4th. You. Have. To. LOVE. IT!
  23. Works the count 2-2. Bloops another oppo single to shallow LF. 6-3 Mudcats BABY!!!!
