  1. Man, I love Pratt SO much. Just an absolute Gamer. Opens with a walk. He is not afraid of the moment in any way shape or form.
  2. Rund escapes. Big money bats upcoming. Pratt, Adams, Areinamo.
  3. And, just like that Rund Loses the tie. Two out walk. Two out double. Sigh. 4-3 River Bandits. And, yes indeed, it was ruled a dub but Vargas completely butchered his read. Man, we were seeing some brutal defense by the Mudcats and now Vargas throws his hat in the ring.
  4. Just walked Roccaforte with two down in the 8th. The tension is palpable!
  5. How about RHP Dikember Sanchez pitching 1 2/3 scoreless 4 K innings after Rudy gave up the lead? I mean that's some major work for a young man who was pitching in the ACL earlier this summer!
  6. The AB's I've seen in this post-season from Di Turi, Castillo, and Eduarqui Fernandez? Just so uncompetitive. Tough looks all around with this group.
  7. A Jheremy Vargas double has tied the game 3-3. Garcia HBP and SB set the scene before the RBI poke.
  8. Pretty much every button manager Nick Stanley pressed and didn't press in the post-season backfired. He really had a poor two game stretch. A real bummer.
  9. AND, Shuckers trail 3-2. Kuehner gives up a 3-run bomb. The story of his recent struggles. Sigh.
  10. Mudcats clinging to a 2-0 lead in Game 1 in a scheduled seven-inning affair. Top of 5th, after a groundout to 3rd, Kuehner walked his 3rd and 4th batters. Two on, one out. We have a mound visit.
  11. Molina has been extremely effective in his Low-A innings. I have to think he'll open 2025 at Wisconsin.
  12. That's truly insane. One might ask. They might...why he is sitting in Low-A at this juncture. But, what do I know? I'm just a guy who watches Minor League baseball.
  13. RHP Manuel Rodriguez is such a Gamer, man. Absolutely one of my favorite players in the system. Rankings be damned. He shows UP!
  14. The Woodward and Adamczewski injuries loom so large in what should be seen as a two game set. That's two extremely skilled players rehabbing in Arizona.
  15. I also remain entirely amazed by the long leash given to Di Turi who is very clearly still living and breathing off of his DSL/ACL work. He just has not been all that good as a Mudcat. You can see the innate skill, most definitely. But the results do not lie and in his long slump his swing decisions have fallen off the map.
  16. This is exactly how I anticipated the Sykora innings to go. And, this is precisely why I was so confused by Stanley's Game 1 approach.
  17. I admire manager Nick Stanley sticking with struggling 2B Filippo Di Turi. With Adamczewski on the shelf with a high ankle sprain (sigh), Stanley keeps rolling with the young switch-hitter in a two month slump. Let's hope he finds some success in game two. RHP Manuel Rodriguez is back atop the hill in only his second action since returning from the IL. The Mudcats are going to need his best tonight versus the Fred Nats and RHP Travis Sykora. RF Braylon Payne is back in lead-off. Two notable changes to the line-up: C Blayberg Diaz replaces C David Garcia and LF Luis Castillo starts the game replacing LF Yhoswar Garcia. Let's see if the young men can find some better luck off the Fred Nats bats and some better defense throughout. Game 1 was a rough loss. Can we take Game 2 and force a Game 3?
  18. RHP Will Rudy will try to keep building off his improved form of late. He takes game 2 on the bump for the playoff-hungry T-Rats fans. C Matt Wood is back in the line-up and batting fifth protecting our everyday baseball hero in 2B Jadher Areinamo. CF Luis Lara goes back atop the line-up protected by SS Cooper Pratt and 3B Luke Adams. 1B Tayden Hall will hope to pair his flashing leather with improved results at the dish. Big game two for the Timber Rattlers as they look for the sweep and an advance to the Championship Series.
  19. Let's score more runs than the Giants tonight. Let's toss last night's debacle in the trash. Let's get some hot bats going for a change. I'm calling toward the baseball gods' quarters: Please, oh please, give us double digit Brewers runs tonight.
  20. Before line-up cards are shared for the Carolina and T-Rats Home playoff tilts, let's take a trip down memory lane at Quad Cities with Chris Mehring on the inspired call:
  21. Let's hope the line-up card misprint right off the bat for game 1 isn't an inauspicious sign for the execution we see on the field. Obviously, #6 is Dylan O'Rae and we don't have CF Adam Hall and his doppelgänger covering the infield dirt. LHP Tate Kuehner will look to discover earlier season form after a couple tough outings of late. Of note, OF Connor Scott remains sidelined past his 7-Day stint on the IL. This remains a big hole in the Shuckers line-up.
  22. Given what we've seen from the Sounds defense and bats, they could very much use the night off. Let's hope they regroup and start playing some more 'Sound' ball throughout the remainder of the series.
