  1. Kuehner is already running into trouble in his first frame. Just walked a batter in a long 3-2 count. Pitch count at 25. Bases juiced. Two down. Hopefully, he can dig deep here and escape. 0-0 game.
  2. Another oppo rip from none other than muh man Isaac Collins. Hardest hit ball of the inning by muh ojos.
  3. Miller and Dorrian hit consecutive bloop singles (RF and CF, respectively) and Hicklen crosses. 2-2 game in Charlotte. Runners on 1st and 2nd. One down.
  4. Ground out to 1B. K swinging. Fly out to Garcia in LF in a 1-1 count.
  5. He also said: "I think you know in my time as a Hillcat I don't get excited about foul balls. I definitely don't get excited by opponents' foul balls." 😅
  6. Announcers are still chatting about the failed HR call. LOL. Both announcers are still perplexed.
  7. Home plate ump just blew a two-run jack by Castillo. My goodness. That ball was crushed. It was inside the foul pole. Ump blew the call. Man. Unreal. Stanley came to home plate to chat briefly. Both announcers knew it was a homer. Capital Lame. LOL.
  8. Diaz just continues to show a lack of refinement with his throwing arm. He throws a lazy ball to 1B in an attempted pick-off move and catapults it into RF. I can't tell you the number of times I've seen weak throws or slow throws that have resulted in SB or runners advancing. It's a problem. Mercifully, Castillo made an accurate throw to the cut-off and Guilarte threw a dart and the runner was nabbed at 3B.
  9. RHP Jack Seppings - the Brown University UDFA - will make his first appearance as a Brewer coming out of the Pen.
  10. Hardin gives up a deep fly to the LF warning track Garcia leaps and graps it before falling into the wall. One down. Hardin is pulled already. Not a debut performance to remember whatsoever. Is what it is. 3-2 lead. Man on first. One down.
  11. The opener walk steals 2B on a delayed steal - Diaz caught framing for too long (silly lack of awareness). Hardin then is left out to dry by the sub-par defense of Luis Castillo who lumbers toward the warning track and fails to track the ball into his glove as it falls on the dirt. Hardin gives up a first pitch oppo liner to LF on the first pitch to the next batter. 3-2 Mudcats. Diaz has to be sharper - this is a repeated pattern of lack of sharpness behind the dish. And Castillo has to do better with his glove on that play. All this being said, Hardin isn't sharp.
  12. Hardin opened his 2nd frame in an 0-2 count. He then walked the batter. The bat never left his shoulders.
  13. 3-up and 3-down 2nd frame for the Muddies. 2 K's made it 4 straight then a Baez ground out to SS.
  14. Really poor start from Cargo. A start I've seen before in Triple-A. Can't locate off-speed early. Then hanging pitches left and right as he advances in the frame. Almost gave up a 3-run jack twice - one was a fly out to the CF warning track on a dead center heater. Lefty smacks a loud double off the wall. Hard hit grounder to 3B Dorrian made a really solid stab and throw on from near the shallow LF grass. Ugly first frame. Not sharp. Sounds trail 2-0.
  15. Hardin is not dialed in the zone - just missing around the edges. He did just hit a batter in a 3-1 count on a heater that rode up and in to a righty. A line out to SS and a weak ground out to 2B previously. Carlos has now given up an RBI single to LF. Not sharp early whatsoever. Sounds trail 1-0. Men on 1st and 2nd. Hardin ends his frame with another weak ground out to 2B.
  16. Carlos F. Rodriguez opens his night with consecutive base runners reaching via walks. Yuck.
  17. FIrst look at Hardin. I'm excite! Always fun to see a new horse in the stables.
  18. Muddies really putting together solid AB's in the first frame. They are pushing the pitch count and lead 3-0. One down. Runners on 2nd and 3rd.
  19. Bitonti 2-run Bomb. We back baby. Lefty-on-Lefty no less.
  20. T-Rats Post-Game Pod IL and Injury Updates: RHP Aidan Maldonado feels like he may be back at some point this series Luke Adams and Cooper Pratt both trying to get back - been at the ball park. Chris talked to Luke yesterday. He's frustrated wants to be around to help the team but the goal is the post-season, it appears. No definitive update of any kind on Burke's IL stint. Zero. No update whatsoever on Tayden Hall
  21. The playoff hopeful Biloxi Shuckers will look to bounce back from last night's shellacking to take game 2 at Home to their pesky nemesis in the Montgomery Biscuits. Are these Shuckers playoff hopefuls or pretenders? I honestly couldn't tell you. Despite leading by 2.5 G, it's fair to say the Shuckers haven't exactly inspired any confidence in the past two plus weeks. LHP Tate Kuehner will look to bounce back from his recent outing to return to the dominant form we've seen for the majority of his 2024 season. 2B Ethan Murray will take his improved output atop the line-up batting lead-up tonight. Of note, here, is the continued absence of 2B/CF Dylan O'Rae for the second consecutive game. RF Caleb Martin is back in the line-up while Connor Scott moves to DH. C Nick Kahle is back behind the dish.
  22. Can the upstart Mudcats keep rolling? They jumped to a 1-0 series lead last night on the road @ Lynchburg. Can they jump to a 2-0 series lead? On the heels of a masterful RHP Daniel Corniel 6 1/3 IP start, we'll get our first professional glimpse of 2024 12th Rd pick (Mississippi State) RHP Tyson Hardin. Can Hardin have a RHP K.C. Hunt like impact? We can only hope. We'll see the standard 1-through-4 spots of late back in their stead: Yophery, Baez, Bitonti, Dinges. Di Turi and Guilarte will swap positions - 2B-to-SS, respectively. C Blayberg Diaz will look to buckle down and manage his throws to the base paths a bit better than we've seen of late.
  23. You will never convince me trading RHP TJ Shook to the Mets for 30-year-old journeyman LHP Tyler Jay wasn't a mistake. Didn't make sense at the time. Doesn't make sense today. Since joining Double-A Binghamton, Shook has been fantastic: 13 1/3 IP, 7 H, 2 HB, 3 BB, 17 K, 2 ER, 2 W, 0 L, 4 SVO, 4 SV In August, in six appearances spanning 10.0 IP, 'The Shookster' has allowed a fantastic 0.171 BAA with a stellar 0.80 WHIP. This was always in his bag. I've been saying it for two years. I continue to be dumbfounded. For as much as I love the Brewers for their system-wide - baseball-wide - pitching development, in my very humble opinion they absolutely missed the boat on Shook. I said it last year. I said it this year. I'll say it again: future MLB pitcher. It's all there in the tools.
  24. Record-setting OF Brewer Hicklen and the Sounds will try to bounce back from yesterday's bullpen (read RHP Easton McGee) melt down to claim game 2. RHP Carlos F. Rodriguez will try to pitch deep to give his Pen some rest. He's pitched generally very well over the past month. CF Isaac Collins returns to the line-up while LF Tyler Black is (thankfully) given a reprieve from handling 1B duties. We see 1B Wes Clarke moving out of his DH spot and handing those duties over to Owen Miller. C Brian Navarreto returns behind the dish. The Sounds will look to make it a 1-1 series tally after tonight.
  25. BUMP. We just claimed Narveson - an UDFA kicker. Is the streak back on? He is the chosen One. Streak is back right?!? RIGHT?!?!
