  1. Baby steps. Baby steps to first base. Can't take that lumber off that shoulder and go yard. Baby steps.
  2. Muddies would agree! They hopped aboard that train baby.
  3. Boy did Maldonado look nasty tonight. Sheeesh. He was throwing some off-speed yowza. Really nice form. The Mudcats pull one out of the hat and Win 2-1. That's Maldonado's 5th Save (?) recalling here.
  4. He gets the K looking. He retires the side with 3 K's. 1-0 Iowa. 3 H and a BB in there.
  5. Boy, I swear I just looked away and it was a 0-0 game. Now it's 1-0 Iowa. Bases juiced. Two down. Herget will try to escape this threat. He K'd his first two batters of the inning.
  6. BTW, Ernesto spent some time on the ground. He appeared to be plunked on his back leg on a hard thrown slider. He ultimately was pulled for a pinch runner. Hopefully it's precautionary! ** Just see you saw that he was subbed out. Apologies, sensee.**
  7. Reece Walling wears the golden sombrero tonight. The Mudcats have K'd 13 times tonight.
  8. Yep. That's 92 mph smack dab on his mid forearm. He has been pulled from the contest. Sigh. Just not a season to remember for the young hurler.
  9. DL Hall just took a combebacker off his throwing arm it would appear. They are at the mound checking. He's in pain. We'll see.
  10. Tyler Black did his best Luke Adams impression K'ng looking on a 3-2 breaking ball chest high center cut. Leaves the bases juiced. No runs cross. 0-0 headed to the third frame.
  11. Fiiiiiiive Golden Runnnnnnnns!
  12. Patrick Dorrian takes a 3-2 pitch inside for the free pass. And, an angel gets a new set of wings.
  13. Was just about to say the same thing. And, they are clear strikes. Just not swinging the lumber.
  14. Cornielle misses strike 3 looking by a matter of inches. He then throws a slider way away and to the back stop. Runner advances. Slider misses outside. 3-2 count now. He gets the pop up to Garcia in the shallow LF grass. Fantastic pitch to escape. 1-0 T-Rats. ON to the bottom of the 5th.
  15. Fantastic work by Seminaris strands the runner aboard. Shuckers will head to the 7th down 3-2. Meanwhile, RHP Alexander Cornielle - whose season ERA is now down to a ripe 2.88 with 6 K through 4 2/3 IP - will try to work around a two out walk. He gets ahead in the count 0-1.
  16. Blalock will leave after 5 1/3 IP and 91 pitches. No long balls (tho, two very close). No HB. All three runs earned. 6 K. Shuckers trail 3-2. Seminaris will come aboard. One down. Man on 2nd base.
  17. They are just about to get underway in Nashville. Noice!
  18. It's a 2-2 game on a seeing-eye single up the middle in Chattagnooga. Cargo doesn't have the arm to make a play of it. Throw is up line, to boot. Runner reaches 2nd base. Still zero outs. Blalock falling apart here. He gives up a smash off the LF wall. Double. 3-2 Chattanooga.
  19. Overreact much? He's not even Top 30 ranked. Yawn. 🤭 ***YES, indeed. I'm still working through the stupidity that was the Baseball America re-published Top 30. Embarrassing work. Seriously. As a subscriber of over 10 years, an embarrassing effort.
  20. That's a four pitch walk for Blalock. He's at 78 pitches now. 2nd walk. Had a walk in the 4th as well. Tying run aboard.
  21. Blalock back to the hill for his sixth inning of work. He corks a heater that lands about 6' before the dish and crashes into somebody behind that plate. That was a pitch. LOL.
  22. Scott taps one right back to the mound. The Shuckers strand them juiced. Rodriguez goes 1-2-3. Heck, he may come back for the 7th. He's only at 80 pitches.
  23. Ernesto has a 3-0 count. And the bases are juiced on four straight balls. AND, just like that Manuel Rodriguez is going for yet another Quality Start. Have I mentioned he's 18 years old? Have I mentioned he's unranked by the Prospect 'Experts'. Clueless, I say. He gets his 7th K to open his 6th frame. 77 pitches. Just a gorgeous prospect.
  24. Men on the corners. One down. EBJ at the dish. AND, he pops out to 1B foul territory. Sigh. Two down. Martinez Jr. will try to cash in. Shuckers lead 2-1 here in the top of the 6th.
