  1. Nicasia's dub scored one my friend. Men on 2nd and 3rd. Two down. FWIW. 2-0 T-Rats. Can Made improve his 2nd AB approach?
  2. Burke walks again. Bases juiced. Nobody down in the Shuckers 3rd. Meanwhile, the T-Rats have men on 1st and 2nd. Nobody out. Yhoswar at the dish in a 1-1 count. He pops up to 1B. One down. Alastre will try to do some damage.
  3. Pratt RBI line drive single to CF. 2-1 Shuckers trail. Men on 1st and 2nd. Nobody out.
  4. Melvin is going to have to dig deep. Double steal - ball went to the back stop anyway. Men on 2nd and 3rd. One down. Infield now in. Muddies trail 2-1. Top of 6. RHP Travis Smith pitched a relatively clean first inning in his debut. 1-0 T-Rats headed to the 2nd. AND, Melvin's hangers in this inning come back to haunt him. He was getting hit hard. He just got hit even harder for a three run jack over the LF wall. Just his 3rd HR allowed all season. Muddies trail 5-1. Yuck.
  5. Rodriguez just made a fantastic running catch on the LF warning track. Incredible jump. That ball was hit hard. Saved XBH and another run, likely. The base runner at 1B (single into left CF) left on contact. More hard contact on a single to LF. Men on 1st and 2nd. One down.
  6. Wichrowski walks the next batter. Man, he is so frustrating. For a pitcher with as many tools as Brett has, he continues to be extremely unpolished around the edges.
  7. Ahhhhh Wichrowski. Ahead 0-2 with two down after seeing the first two batters get aboard in the 2nd. He hangs one. A two-run triple. Shuckers trail 2-0.
  8. A first AB long ball for Peña. Incredible. Roped that ball over the wall baby. What a debut moment.
  9. Ball don't lie. Garcia catches the runner attempting to swipe 2B. Nice throw. Muddies still trail 2-1. PEÑA BOMB!!!! OH YEAH!!! Over the LF wall baby.
  10. Made's first AB in High-A is a swinging K at an off-speed pitch in the dirt. Looked like he looked for the past month in Low-A. Ugly swing decision.
  11. Needless to say, the lads saw what I saw and did not agree. LOL.
  12. I swear to you. Every week. It's an ump show. BOTH umpires convened and determined Hernandez did not tag the runner here. No, really. This is the same home plate ump who feels a strikezone extends 6" past the actual zone in both directions on the edges.
  13. You've got a home plate ump interpreting the edges of the zone with liberal thinking in Zebulon. Hard match up with a talented lefty taking advantage in multiple ways. That's at least two strikeouts now where I scratched my head at the over confident calls behind the dish.
  14. Boeve lines into a one hop force out at 2B (Lara lead-off BB). Pratt K's swinging. Burke walks. Wood strands two with a swinging K himself. Meanwhile, the homeplate ump is calling strikes anything within 6 " of the inner black apparently. He K's Anderson on very clearly a ball inside. Good gods. Give me good umping once on my report nights. LOL. I am not kidding when I say the ball started at the edge of the batters box and was caught at Anderson's back hip. Embarrassing call.
  15. One of the more impressive things we've seen from Josh since returning from the IL isn't just the fact he is scorching the living hyeck out of the ball. BUT, he's also hitting lefties fairly well by my eye (no, I haven't looked at the stats - I'm going off memory). Handelfry rips a liner into the left CF gap. Adamczewski advances to 3rd and Handelfry thinking they were going to third tried to leg it into a two-bagger. He was apparently thrown out at 2B. We don't really have an idea, however, as the Five County camer work has been quite shoddy at best when the ball enters the field of play. One down. Josh at 3B. Bitonti grounds out weakly in a short hop with the infield in - about the worst possible result on contact there - and Josh has to stay at 3B. Two down. Anderson will try to get him across.
  16. Oh hey, another poke for Adamczewski. Huh. Who knew? I wonder if he'll get hot?
  17. Holguin ropes a standing double deep to left field one hopping the track into the wall. He scores Ibarguen (BB) who had beat a successful pick-off with a poor throw to 2B by the Lynchburg first baseman - he'll likely get the SB on his tally. A two out RBI. Muddies trail 2-1. We are on to the 3rd.
  18. Di Turi opens his night with a swinging K. The funk continues. He's just not timing things up consistently.
  19. A first pitch reach liner into left field on a low tailing change-up scores another but the Muddies back picked the runner at 1B who took too big a turn toward 2B. Muddies trail 2-0. On to the bottom half.
  20. Hernandez gives up a first pitch lead-off single to CF to open his second frame. He then hangs a breaking ball belt high dead center to a lefty with two down and the Mudcats are trailing 1-0 with a man on 2B.
  21. Stanley goes with three straight lefty bats atop his batting order facing a Southpaw. Don't quite understand the thought process here.
  22. Handelfry debuts with a five pitch BB in his first ever Low-A AB. Good sign. Very patient. Showed a bit of that bat speed in a foul as well.
  23. That Melvin Hernandez tailing dipping change-up continues to be an absolute weapon vs lefties. He gets his first K on such a pitch to such a batter. Gorgeous swinging K. Two down.
  24. Ohhhhhh it's that rare stacked right side double second baseman line up! Zesty Rick Sweet special. (Obviously, Murray is playing 3B)
