  1. Berroa singles to shallow CF and a slight misplay gives him all the space he needed to steal 2nd in the ordeal. He officially steals 3B. Quero SF to RF. 2-1 Sounds.
  2. Patrick escapes further damage. 2 K. Single into LF. Web Game diving stop and throw to 1B where EMJ grabs it in the splits on a short hop up the RF line. Incredible third out. 1-1 game. On to the third.
  3. First game back and the opposing team is already throwing baseballs at Payne again. Second inning. Pick-off attempt to 1B hits him right in the left ribs as he slid back to the bag. Yowch. He was in pain. He is staying in however as he told the trainer to go back. Meanwhile, on the next pitch, Adamczewski tried to leg out a hard hit gapper that was cut down in right CF and they gunned him down on the throw to second base. Beat him by a step. Dang it. 2-0 they head to the bottom of 2.
  4. They never start the bluechip college upperclassmen in Low-A. Always High-A placements. You'll get a Ragsdale in your line up soon enough though. That should be a fun addition.
  5. And, Patrick hangs another. And another is absolutely tanked over the left CF wall. Dead center floating duck off-speed. 1-1 game. He's giving up a lotta Johnsons the past two starts. Not a good trend.
  6. Here's your late Mudcats Line up card. Follow along:
  7. Hernandez opens his evening with two swinging K's and a line out to LF. 2-0 Muddies onto the 2nd.
  8. Bloop single into LF scores Adamczewski. 2-0 Muddies. Runners on 1st and 2nd for Mr. Anderson.
  9. Handelfry rips an oppo single into the left CF gap. That's a 1-0 Muddies lead. Men on corners. Nobody out. Noice!
  10. Adamczewski walks in five pitches. Two runners aboard. Nobody out. Muddies top of 1st.
  11. Black grounds into a DP directly to the 2B.
  12. Good start for the Sounds. Berroa BB and SB. Quero lines a bloop single into shallow LF down the line. It is 1-0 Sounds. Nobody out for Black. Payne returns and works a seven pitch walk. Noice.
  13. Losers of 10-of-12 and coming off a Sweep @ Home at the hands of those pesky Jumbo Shrimp, the Sounds will look to climb their way out of their ongoing offensive woes. Is tonight the night the bats get sizzling? I have absolutely zero idea. RHP Chad Patrick will look to bounce back after OF Joey Wiemer took him to the woodshed his last time on the bump:
  14. EBJ activated from the Bridge League and in the Shuckers line up in 3...2...1:
  15. CF Brailyn Antunez was pulled for a defensive Sub before the second inning completed. All we see is the last play he was a part of was fielding a single to CF: Rodny Rosario singles on a line drive to center fielder Brailyn Antunez. Angel Abreu scores. Ricardo Romero to 2nd. He left the game two outs later after a strikeout but before the in ing ended. Hopefully, nothing happened to his throwing arm during this play. We'll simply have to stay tuned.
  16. - OF Reece Walling has been released by the Carolina Mudcats - OF Yhoswar Garcia has been released by the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers - RHP Nick DeCarlo has been transferred from the 7-Day to the 60-Day IL by the Carolina Mudcats - RHP Chase Costello has been transferred from the 7-Day IL to the 60-Day IL by the Biloxi Shuckers
  17. Yes, but it's realistically 50/50 at best. I have a proverbial heap of things I need to get done on ky Farm before the ground freezes and I am dealing with my own Cervical neck injury as I soldier through my Farming year. I start PT this week as I await word from the morass that is Health Insurance on MRI approval
  18. - RHP Alejandro Parra has been assigned to the DSL Brewers Gold from the DSL Brewers Blue. Parra last pitched on June 20th of 2024 as a member of the DSL Brewers Dos. He began this year on the 60-Day IL (announced back on May 24th).
  19. I mean, Burke has absolutely proven he can hit - despite the post ASB slump he has shown he can hit within the professional ranks. Now the question remains, is this nice lil power burst - we know he has the power but we truthfully haven't seen it accessed all that much in the meat if this season - more a byproduct of the comforts of being back in Knoxville? OR is this him rediscovering his innate ability to hit the ball hard and far in the air? I spoke to it a couple times during this past week but it is worth mentioning again: Knoxville is considered the hardest park to go yard in the entire Southern League. Can he carry this into the final month and post-season?
  20. He definitely has a little bit of Rowdy in there. My hope is he doesn't trend more Vogelbach. 😅
  21. The lifeless Sounds are on the verge of getting swept, at Home, to Jacksonville. They trail 2-1 in the bottom of the 7th. If they manage to lose this one, they will be 2-10 over their last 12 games. Ouch.
  22. Wow. Impressive digging! So it was Delmarva and it was late June. I remember, right off that performance I think he had an 0-for strineout buffet follow-up?😅
  23. If memory serves, it was a sign of improved approach in like a 9-10 pitch walk in late June? Maybe against Delmarva? It was the best AB I had seen from him all season.
  24. I'd say I'm shocked but this team is just different. My gods. What a season!!!!!
