Oh. My. God. Wiemer 3-Run Jack. My gods. 5-0 Shrimps -
Patrick is just not quite dialed in. In important counts, he's missing pitches. That's three 3-2 walks in the past two frames and this last one was his worst. The first two missed by an inch or so - very close. Just not quite dialed in. He now has two two out runners aboard. Last inning's two-run jack came with two down as well.

Mistake pitch for a 3-run game-tying bomb. How does Manuel respond? A 1-2 swinging K on a change-up outer upper half of the zone. We head to the top of the 3rd. 3-3 game. Meanwhile, Pratt just lined out hard to 3B. Boeve (HBP - back foot) scrambles back. Man, these are some hard outs in Knoxville. Shuckers still clinging to a 2-1 lead in the 5th.

Sounds announcer just mentioned Quero is doing well down in Arizona and may be back with the Sounds within the next couple of days. Fantastic news. Meanwhile, Rodriguez walked a batter after Hall couldn't stay on the base with a possible web gem play from Made. Ahead 1-2 in the count, Diaz dropped a foul back. Next pitch? Three-run blast over the LF wall. Oooof. 3-3 game in Peoria.

Since DeBerry's jittery first? He has retired 12-of-13. Fantastic work from there from the young man. Couldn't be more impressed with the way he's found his stuff; composed himself; and shut the door. Shuckers still clinging to a 2-1 lead. We head to the 5th.

Patrick settles down from there. Check swing sword K on a high heater. Pop up to Zamora at SS. K looking on Sasaki - I'm used to seeing him man CF in Pensacola. I guess he's played four games as a Shrimp.

Patrick was ahead to open this inning 0-2. He walked that hitter. Then Wiems 3-2 2-run shot. Now an 0-2 double to the RF corner. Not a good frame after a fantastic first inning. Nobody out.

The flowing golden hair that is Joey Wiemer just worked a count full and then took Patrick to the left CF fence and over for a two-run jack. Was not expecting that! LOL. Sounds trail 2-0.

Patrick was touching 95 and change in a very efficient 1-2-3 first. Got a K looking at 95 on the outer black. Nice frame. DeBerry has really responded retiring 5-of-6 before getting the third out of his third inning of work. 2-1 Shuckers in the 4th. Spain just gave us the old swinging K throw the bat into the opponents dugout look. Noice!

In Minor League baseball, the tie goes to the runner 50% of the time. It's a new rule. I'm continually amazed at how many times the infield umps blow calls at 1B in favor of the defense. Darrien Miller legged out a slow rolling grounder to beat the DP - tie goes to the runner. Never mind. Ump confidently calls him out. Shuckers strand two runners. 2-1 on to the bottom of the 3rd.

Pratt walked and stole second base in his second AB. At least, he's standing on 2B now. I don't know. The camera angle was Blake Burke's left foot. God bless Minor League baseball.

AND, he strikes out the side. Well, OK then! LOL.

DeBerry got ahead both batters in his second frame 1-2. They took him full - not very competitive pitches. He K's the first swinging. He k'd the second looking at a slider. His first two punchouts in Double-A.

Made and Peña open their second game in High-A with consecutive walks.

Boeve K's in his second AB on a dead center curve that broke low in the zone. Over the top and foul tipped. The Shuckers strand a man on 2B in Restituyo (single liner into RF).

Shuckers are hitting some very hard hit pull outs to 1B and 2B. Good contact early.

DeBerry allows one run on a force out ground out and then gets the inning ending pop out to Spain in RF. Not a pretty frame but he avoided further damage.

Now Darrien Miller, oh Darrien, is charged with a catcher's interference on the next pitch. It was a strike. Good grief.

Walks the next batter on four pitches. I expect a mound visit shortly with this inefficient inaccurate beginning.

2-0 to his third batter as well. Not a good looking start so far.

DeBerry has fallen behind his first two batters 2-0. His second batter casually hits a line drive single on a four-seamer thrown dead center. Not an impressive beginning. Let's hope he settles in.

Miller walked. Spain rips an absolute rocket directly in the vicinity of the second baseman. Smoked that ball. Good AB. End result? Third out. Baseball. DeBerry will pitch in a few minutes.

Eduardo returns to Double-A with a fly out to LF on a slider in a 1-2 count. Just got under it and a bit in front. Two down.

Big Burke line drive to the left CF gap reaches the wall. That's a two-rbi dub. Yeah, Blake! Nice easy swing. Sharp line drive to that gap.

Pratt follows suit with a 1-2 oppo line drive single into RF. Two men aboard, first and second, with Burke coming to the idsh. Burke gets a round of applause from the Knoxville faithful.
