  1. RHP Darling Solano with arguably his best performance of his young season today through 4 relief innings (he gets his first Save). The 18 yo Dominican was credited with 2 unearned runs (his first scoreless work given they were unearned) while grabbing 7 k's. Only 4 hits and a walk. He's been striking out at a good clip in his extended relief outings. He's also given up runs - earned and unearned - in every outing. It will be interesting to see how his season progresses.
  2. Indeed, Anfernny Reyes, is quite intriguing with that 6'3" frame and lefty stuff. It will be fun to watch these guys progress.
  3. DSL Brewers 2's 19 yo RHP Felipe De Los Santos had his best outing of his young season today versus the DSL Mets 1: 5.0 ip, 3 hits, 0 bb, 7 k's, 0 er. Noice outing, young man! DSL Brewers 2 lead 6-2 in the bottom of the 8th. A win would pull them to 13-11. Let's go! It would appear, the DSL Brewers 1 have been rained out and postponed. Whoa is me.
  4. Let us hope we get the pre-June version of Josh Lindbolm. He had what we might call a ‘rough’ June: 5 Starts, 26 ip, 30 hits, 9 HR, 11 bb, 23 k, 0.280 BAA, 1.58 WHIP Hopefully he found some semblance of a youthful elixir for his tiring arm!
  5. Oh man, brats/beer/Brewers baseball?Jealous! Tip a couple on my behalf please. I’ll be waving from across the mountain West.
  6. Man, Darrien Miller hit by two pitches and then the foul off the face? Ugh. Talk about adding insult to injury. Booooo!
  7. Well the first appearance for Taylor Floyd was not pretty. Feeling for the young righty. 2022 has been anything but kind as he looks to find a semblance of his 2021 arm. I imagine the T-Rats are going to need to find who exactly can close things down now that Cam Robinson has moved south. I would imagine James Meeker will get a look and the possibility of a Michele Vassalotti call up from Zebulon. Oh the joys of being a High-A manager and losing your flawless 20 plus Save Closer!
  8. This is the version of LHP Nick Bennett I was expecting to see more of in 2022: 6ip, 3 h, 1bb. 9 k’s, 0er Yeah baby! Biloxi clinging to a precarious 2-0 lead late.? Why precarious? In 2022 any Shuckers lead is precarious.
  9. Also, with 2 more walks tonight Big Jon struts his free pass total to a League leading 66 walks in 222 registered AB’s ?
  10. He’s been stellar of late and solid all year. 2 HR’s tonight - had an OF assist in Game 2. Steady and smooth and, also of importance: he is always available. In other news after going an entire month with zero XB knocks, Turang now has a triple and a double in the first 3 games at 2nd place Columbus.
  11. Second consecutive outing Antoine Kelly has really struggled with base runners. Through 2 2/3 70 plus pitches 5 hits, 3 walks. Hopefully he can re-discover his prior dominant stuff before the Futures Game!
  12. Hmmmmm, good one. Caveats: Wiemer was shelved with a mysterious hand/thumb injury for a spell - I want to say 6-7 games consecutive off-hand (?) - and has been a major slump since. Chourio was promoted and has been fantastic but hasn't played an entire half season by any measure - promoted May 3rd, if I recall. So, with this being said, I'm going: Jakson Reetz - in the top 1-5 of every major offensive category in the Southern League and a steady presence in the line-up daily Cam Robinson - he has been that good for the entire season essentially, was way atop the Saves leaderboard in the Midwest League and led all of Minor League baseball, went the entire month of May without surrendering a run and if I recall was 11/11 in Saves?
  13. Man, that was so cool. Thanks for sharing, Jim. What a piece.
  14. I think a very good solution for every Brewers fan struggling to make peace with this version of the Brewers and their Brewers offense or, well, just the Brewers in general - and, I do want to be clear: I am not pointing a finger at anyone here or anyone anywhere ? - spend a dedicated period of time watching the Brewers' Double-A 2022 Biloxi Shuckers. They'll sober you right up into a state of gratitude for any semblance of consistency anywhere in any level of baseball. They'll give you a couple moments of 'Up', they'll give you many moments of 'Down', and they'll most likely leave you in a complete state of confoundedness as they seesaw their ways from 6-8 games under 0.500 back to 4-5 games above 0.500 seemingly on the monthly. Every expectation will face challenge. Every facet of play that can sabotage a chance of victory will be performed for a stretch or stretches - occasionally at the same time. There will be slumps, injuries, over-promotions, send downs, thin rosters, six-game series sweeps. The whole gambit. If you can keep your positivity through it all, it is akin to achieving a level of Aikido mastery. And, I think it will bring you back to the Brewers side of things a modern-day Fanatic Zen Master. You will find yourself ready for any devious tendencies or malfeasance in the batters box. Just my two meaningless centavos. Go Brewers!
  15. Given the DLS Brewers 2 were Suspended in the bottom of the 4th inning (2 outs runners on 1st and 2nd - Brewers 2 pitching) and the DSL Brewers 1 finished after 5 innings, I'm going to go the courageous route and say: Weather Delay. I was mildly confused to begin with as both original weather forecasts in the Game Logs/Box Scores claim: 'Sunny'.
  16. Whoa. He lives! He really lives!!!!
  17. Very cool little Mudcats Mix-Up here for Jackson Chourio's news today:

  19. Great discourse here. I'm enjoying the different perspectives and POV's. It will be very interesting to see what the Brewers decide to do come the deadline. We suddenly have many an intriguing talent to consider in the lower levels and several very intriguing talents developing in the DSL. I always approach this time of year with literally one thought at the forefront of my mind: I'm really grateful it isn't my job to make these all-important decisions. None of this is easy.

  21. In utterly predictable fashion, a major mainstream sports outlet completely overlooks and bypasses both Brewers org players - including the youngest player at the Futures Game and the second youngest in all of Low-A. Article Here
  22. The DSL Brewers 2 lead 9-5 in the bottom-half of the fourth inning. I'd say they are definitive beneficiaries of a 7-for-16 mark with RISP. Lots to enjoy there, surely, from the dugout.
  23. Luis Lara with a 2-for-3 day and a run scored in a shortened 5-inning victory over the DSL Rockies. He continues to excel in the lead-off role for the DSL Brewers 1. He is now hitting 0.376 with an 1.027 OPS in 85 switch hit AB's (9 doubles, four triples). What an intriguing prospect. Lefty-batting catcher (throws right), Edgardo Ordonez continues to perform well in limited AB's and rotational work. He knocks across all four DSL Brewers 1 rbi's today and hit his 2nd HR. His OPS is now up to 0.895 with a 0.257 BA in a limited 35 AB's.
  24. It will certainly be exciting to see how he performs, no doubt. He's really been working on aspects of his offensive game so, if nothing else, this will give him a brief look and experience of what will be in store on a regular basis. He is quickly and steadily taking hold of that number one prospect status with Joey's ongoing prolonged slump. Granted, it's in Low-A. BUT, when all the baseball world and the Brewers organization is seeing and saying the same things...it isn't a time to go against the herd. LOL.
  25. @damuelle: It would appear Yeison Perez is doing just fine. Just fine and dandy. Playing 1B today, he is current 2-for-4 with his 2nd triple and 4 more rbi's (19 now on his season). In now 49 AB's he has bumped his BA to 0.417 an his OPS to 1.441. Two of the rbi's came with two outs.
