  1. Because it's always nice to get those rare Green Bay Packer specific draft rumors with substance: Link Packers Nuggets: As a card-carrying member of 'Team Trade Down' - especially in this year's draft where the general consensus has repeatedly been the depth 30-100 is phenomenal but it lacks top heavy hitters - I approve of these messages. Things rounding out nicely in rumorville.
  2. 2 more K's today for our tantalizing young Eduardo Garcia. That's 26 k's in 57 AB's on the season with a mere 3 walks. The youngster has some work to do at the plate. The tools are there but he is going to have to develop the toolkit.
  3. The refs did everything in their power to keep the game close but every time the Bulls had even a mild threat in the wings, Giannis/Jrue/Grayson just hit huge shots or made the right plays. When Jrue is on - hitting his step back 3 with ease and hitting crazy fade aways like he did over Vucevic in Q3 - the Bucks are really hard to stop. My goodness, can Grayson keep this shooting up? He is deadly right now.
  4. It would appear the Lower Levels were in the giving mood today. Yowza.
  5. Well @Tim Muma, Mr. Lauer sure gave you a start on this fine April 24th Sunday that would age this article quite well in the near term. Tip of the glass to you and the timing!

  9. So Middleton gets hurt and the Bucks start playing Celtics-level defense? Interesting. I sure as heck hope this suffocating style stays!
  10. I absolutely love Pablo Reyes' game. He is such a fun player to watch. He was fantastic in the late season in 2021 for the Big Club when called upon. In addition to his defense (apparently, all over the diamond - what a set of diving plays in LF!), he's a fantastic baserunner. Yet, another example of the end-of-the-bench embarrassment of riches the Brewers have in Nashville. Hats off to the personnel staff, truly.

  14. It's funny, Carlos Rodriguez got all the off-season pub and rankings but, early in this season, Triston Peters has been the surprise story. In addition to his plate performance he's played excellent defense in Left Field.
  15. Ahhhhh, yes. The Segura to Figueroa connect. Hopefully, the Muddies can turn this back to a winning result. If I'm not mistaken, this is Ferrer's first outing since he had the three error performance at the hot corner early in the season?
  16. Carolina pitching - primarily the bullpen - has had a fairly rough series as they give up 5 more runs after Cornelie leaves the contest. Brustoski with another 3 walk and 3 k inning. He has walked a lot of batters in his few outings to date. A tough loss for Biloxi as Bennett gives up all 5 in the 4-5 defeat. Nashville just absolutely keeps on cruising. They are a well-oiled Triple-A machine right now. Boushley with another very strong outing - going 5 ip with 6 k’s and the lone run a solo shot. The bullpen of Mejia, Barker, and Sanchez go 4 scoreless with 5 k’s and merely 1 hit and 1 bb over the four innings. That bullpen is so dang good for AAA level baseball. Lights out.
  17. Understandably, he really didn’t look all that sharp until this series. And, well, in this series he’s looked fantastic.
  18. Holy heck that is terrible stuff. Considering 39 of the 45 went against the Blue Jays...ummm, ya know, maybe. Yeah.
  19. Not going to lie...watched his inning and looked at his season to date as a refresher of what we've seen...and, now, I can't get this out of my head (substitute 'Gott'): ?
  20. Secretly imagining Luis Urias batting alongside Felix Valerio, Joey Wiemer, and Garrett Mitchell for an entire season.?
  21. Knarrly stuff in Appleton for Game 2. Through 5 ip, 1 er, 6ks on 71 pitches w 49 for strikes. Men on 2nd and 3rd with no outs as Tristen Peters and Yeison Coca back-to-back doubles have given the Rattlers a 2-1 lead.
  22. And let’s toot that horn: Antoine Kelly has gone five complete innings of 1 hit, 4 bb, 7 k ball. Timber Rattlers lead 5-0. THIS is what I am personally looking for: stacked success and improvements in the overall end results. An early glance says he is still dancing around the zone (43 strikes thrown in 80 pitches). Excited to review this work!
  23. This is Antoine's third outing and I am sincerely hoping for a noteworthy outing from the young hurler. I have high hopes for his place in the lower levels and, if he can start really putting it together, it's a 'look out' kind of prospect. We saw the kind of progress we'd like to see in start one to two - though, his strikeouts were down in game 2 versus Beloit. Currently 12:6 k:bb ratio. This is a game I'd love to see him dominant. A man can dream. And, I should mention, perhaps a low-hanging goal for Antoine is a healthy full season after spending a good 60 days on the IL last season before earning his way to Zebulon.
  24. Lost in the shuffle of that Carolina Puello induced blow-out is the fine work of Venezuelan starter Edwin Jimenez. The Puello outing was fairly disappointing given what we saw in his first outing of the year but, on the other side of things Jimenez was equally impressive. I made this comparison in the Game Thread last night: he has a lot of Mike Fiers to his approach. He doesn't have a lot of velo (probably touching a high of 90-91 on his heat), but his breaking stuff and off-speed stuff were really dialed making that heater look more formidable than it was and is (at present). He was working fast in the new pitch clock implementation with a really smooth delivery. And, perhaps most fun to watch, was how confident and 'gamer' he looked on the mound. I'm excited to track his progress into the season. It was a really good outing. He is 20 yo until late December of this year.
